Have just completed a 2 week holiday staying here. Had mixed feelings about hotel. The breakfast was I suppose average for a 3 star, the room was clean & comfortable but the shower was poor.On the plus side the location and the pool facitilities were good, & the staff were friendly and helpful. If we come to Lassi again we probably would stay somewhere else
We have just spent a week at The Princess Hotel. The Hotel it's self is beautiful although very expensive. Our room over-looked the Pool and the lush Gardens. The Room and balcony are a fairly nice size with ample wardrobe space. The cleaning each day was immaculate with towels changed every 2 days, even on the evening before we booked out. However, such pleasant things cannot, I am sad to say, be said of the Staff or the Breakfasts. The Staff although efficient were, we felt totally uninterested in their guest. The only time the owner spoke with us apart from booking us in, was to ask if we wanted to attend a Barbecue. I presume because she wanted the additional revenue. Trying to obtain a drink or food from the Pool bar was an exercise in patience, you could wait for ever for the Staff to notice you actually required service. The so called breakfast, were in the end just laughable. My husband and I had a bet with other, as too just how many people would wonder aimlessly, plate in hand around the buffet, trying to find something edible to eat. The so called hot (or rather luke warm) plate contained rubber eggs, dried out bits of bacon and hot dog sausages. There was bread which you could toast yourself if you could get the flies off the bread long enough to place it in to the toaster. We paid £978.00 for a week's Bed & Breakfast and expected at least a decent meal each morning, we were extremely disappointed to the degree we choose to visit a local eatery on two morning and pay again rather then risk the food at the Hotel. We also tried lunch at the Hotel, early on in our holiday. The food and the service really need improvement if this Hotel is to retain it's so called 3 star plus rating.
We have been to this hotel in Lassi for three years consecutively.
views of hotel
We stayed at the Princess Hotel in July 2004 and had a great time, the hotel staff were very friendly, the only thing that lets it down is the prices at the bar - 2.50 euro for a can of coke! - the hotel is close to the beach and shops/resturants.
Our daughter Amanda (Mandy) got married in Lassi in June this year to Richard (Ditchie) - and Denise (Hotel Manageress/owner) could not have helped more. The wedding reception provided was fantastic. There was a total of 15 of us staying (5 couples plus kids) and more staying elsewhere who were allowed use of the facilities. Our son was staying up the road in cheap studio appartment but could come for breakfast every day. One of the best holidays ever. Fabulous Hotel - at a price! Excellent service and attention. We were there for Euro 2004 and they even bought a big screen Plasma TV for us!
We got married in June 2004 in kefalonia and we had our reception in the hotel it was perfect. Denise manger/owner is lovely nothing is too much trouble.
Vicky you will meet in the moprning serving breakfast she makes a beautiful cup of coffee and always greets you with a lovely smile.
Bess she is great she will always make you laugh, she is always around in the day to serve you a lovely lunch and a nice cold refreshing drink.Always service with a smile at the princess hotel.
If you go you will not be disapointed it is the best hotel we seen there. It is close to the beach and about 10 minutes walk to the bars and restaurants. Perfect location we will be going back.
we got married in Kefalonia in June 2004, we had our wedding reception at the hotel and it was perfect.Denise the manager/owner is lovely and is always there to help you nothing seems to be a problem for her.Bess she is great, she will make you feel really at home she has a great personality and very witty and always remembers you and your orders ( we love Bess)so be nice to her.Vicky you will meet in the morning for breakfast, she works really hard and makes a beautiful cup of coffee she too is lovely and friendly.
Room 37 has the best view in the hotel this is where we stayed so ask when you arrive and you may be lucky.
I promise you you will not be disapointed, the beach is 2 minutes accross the road, shops, bars and restaurants are just five minutes away.Enjoy your stay as we will be going back again.
Got back home today, had a really nice holiday. Location is excellent and beach in lassi is beautiful. However yesterday it was getting busy so I think just before or just at the end of high season is a better time to go. The hotel was wonderful, rooms cleaned every day, a safe and air conditioned. If you want a larger balcony, ground floor, but you loose the sea view! The staff were so friendly and inviting and very helpful. The hotel is very well kept and would be good for a honeymoon however the resort is not overly romantic if that is what you are looking for? Good resturants/bars and the sun set over the beach is a must! Kefalonia is a great island.
Would The Princess be suitable as a Honeymoon hotel? We want somewhere quiet, but with character - local bars close by etc.; cleanliness and good facilities are a must - pool, quick beach access, air-condtioned rooms, friendly service etc. The honeymoon will be in August 2004.
Nice hotel with a good location - 5 mins walk to the Long Beach.
Ask for room 37 - overlooked pool and sea / sunset view - crackin' view - probably the best room in the hotel. Satellite TV / fridge / safe deposit and double bed all included in price (certainly a higher standard than you normally get in Greece).
The main bars / restaurants were a bit further away - 20 mins walk.
The staff were very friendly (both reception and bar staff). Food was ok from the grill.
Pool was a good size but a bit dirty (peeling paint and sand on the bottom of the pool).
There was a BBQ on Friday although we didn't have it.
The Greek dancing didn't take place during our stay.
In high season there is also a pool bar for the evenings.
Nice location and pool, but rooms were shabby and dirty (mould on the tiles in the bathroom). Room was flooded on first night by burst pipe
This is an excellent hotel, the owners are very friendly as are all of the staff. The facilities are good and the standard of the rooms is high. The food served during the day round the pool is delicious, there is something there for everyone, whats more it arrives hot and the helpings are larger than you normally get in a taverna. If you want an evening meal this is a good place to go to, as the evening menu is of a high standard too. Their Princess Ultimate Burger is a must!
We have been to the hotel 9 years in a row and are treated like one of the family, anywhere else in Greece now has a lot to live up to.
How is the weather in early October? Is it still hot enough to swim?
We visited the hotel for drinks and to watch the dancing. They hold dancing lessons and dancing afterwards. The girls were superb. The hotel itself was very nice, situated on the main road, only 10 mins from the airport. It is family run and we met the mother and daughter whom were very nice and friendly. We would like to stay here next time.
we stayed in the Anna Studios and had use of the Princess hotel pool. I am shocked some people found the staff unfriendly/unhelpfull we had only the best service and were always made welcome and that was as non-residents.
More info on the Princess hotel please
Any infromation on the Princess hotel & the surrounding area would be appreciated. Many Thanks
On the main Lassi Road and easy access to Platys and Makris Yialos beaches. Nice pool area, but staff a bit reluctant to serve you! The outdoor bar gets quite busy and lively and I had a few nice cocktails there. Accommodation OK but balconies tiny. Rooms with a pool view have the best outlook. Hotel clean, and comfortable. I would stay there again.
