Me and my son have been to marinos pool apartments two years in a row 2010-2011 and i must say the service there is absolutely wonderful they're all very polite and helpful, lovely food there too as well as some entertainment by the pool bar, i would recommend this place to anyone from young to old as they will have a time they won't forget. I know me and my son will never forget them and are hoping to go again this year if we can get a room as it is so popular? I give marinos and his family resort 10/10.

These apartments are situated next to the Princess Hotel and directly opposite the main beach in Lassi and are family run. Very clean and surprisingly spacious but basic as expected.Maid service 6 days a week. The pool/bar area is excellent (pool cleaned every night). Supermarkets nearby and a nice easy 10 mins stroll into the main resort centre. All in all these apartments are an ideal base and in our opinion are good value for money.

As a suggestion to the owners - Maybe they could introduce a happy hour on all drinks in the bar and organise bbq's, greek evenings to guests ?

We stayed at the Marinos Appartments in June 2008. They were excellent, a very friendly owner, very clean and in a great position next to the Princess Hotel. The year before we stayed at the Princess but found the Marinos Appartments better, the rooms were a lot bigger and a lovely kitchen. When we arrived we were very surprised as we had a two bedroom appartment for just the two of us. We will be going again this year, we highly recommend these appartments, I think that the pool will be open this year, but it is so close to the beach we don`t mind if it isn`t. A definate10/10 from us. We did have an earth tremor when we there but it still hasn`t put us off Kefalonia we love it.

We are booking for our 3rd year at Marinos now. Only thing is we usually request a 2 bedroomed appt but First Choice have changed their site and will only allow us a 1 bed appt now.

We will be there from May 12th for 2 weeks and can't wait to catch up with all our old friends we have made locally! Caitlin can't wait to see Veronica from da Veronicas again!

We have stayed at these apartments twice and will probably do so again.
There are great- good location- everything you need- the best we have stayed in on Kefalonia.
You will either have a large terrace or balcony- dependant if you are on the ground or first floor- they have recently been refurbished and in my opinion are worth more than a 2*

I am considering staying here next year, booking a one bedroom apartment soon, wondered if anyone could suggest which are the best room numbers to ask for. Will the pool be finished by June 2009?

Second time at these apartments and again excellent value. The room was spacious, very clean and the view over the sea from the balcony superb. Our room was cleaned every day during our stay. The apartment is convenient distance from beach, shops, restaurants and tavernas.  Will be back again soon!

Clean and comfortable apartments.  We were in the apartment at the top of the small complex on the 1st floor and had a great view.  Apartments cleaned daily apart from one day when the bins were still emptied and the grounds kept very nicely.  Owner very friendly and helpful.  Air con reasonable at 30 Euros a week.  5 mins walk to the beach and Princess Hotel Pool next door very pleasant and served good bar meals.  Plenty of tavernas, bars and supermarkets within easy reach.

Highly recommended apartments.

Agree with everybody else. Fantastic apartments, clean & very well located. Makris Gialos beach is across the road, and it is fantastic, but very, very crowded. Has beach bars that sell the usual drinks, snacks and play Euro Dance at an OK volume, though it does crank up sometimes after 5ish.  But there are a couple of nice bars for a beer/cocktail. Argostoli centre was also very crowded, but hey it was the middle of August, but not unpleasant.  There are also lots of other beaches on Kefalonia. Liked Petani, and the taverna to the left is great. Best, and cheapest meal we had on the island, watched the sunset and then went skinny dipping on the small beach to the right of Petani. You can also find deserted beaches, even in the middle of high season. We did, although it was only a tiny pebble beach, it had a fantastic view, brilliant clear water and a little shade. I won't say where it is, or it won't be deserted anymore, but I'll give the inquisitive a clue. It was below a churchyard near AE. Had a car the whole time and found this really useful, even though we didn't use it every day. Roads are fine, and much safer than driving in SE1!! Loved the apartments, loved Kefalonia, loved it's inhabitants who were very, very friendly and if you're thinking of going - GO!!

Have just returned from 2 weeks holiday in Kefalonia (1-15 July 2007).  Marinos Apartments are superb! Only rated 2 star + by First Choice, but these modern apartments could not be beaten for cleanliness, (maid service 6 days a week). Apartment was well-equipped and  the owner very helpful. A welcome pack was waiting for us (beer, Coke and water) courtesy of the owner and totally unexpected but very welcome after the journey!  Great location, handy for tavernas and beach. Would recommend to anyone. We will definitely return one day.

Returned to day from the Marinos Apartments.  What excellent apartments.  We were in No 1 on the front. One bedroom, good sized bathroom and kitchen with fridge, toaster and kettle.  The cooker has only two rings but is adequate for cooked breakfast.  The cleaner came 6 days to clean and one day just to empty bins. Bed linen and towels changed every three days.  Air conditioning is available at five euros per day.

We used the pool at the Marianna two mins down the road near the supermarket on left hand side.  Very good pool and snacks at the bar are excellent value.  The Princess Hotel next door to Marinos is nice to go to early evening for a couple of drinks.  The rep did a quiz there one night which was good fun.

The resort is spread out down the road with lots of tavernas and bars.  Had a few rather boozy nights at the Veronica bar and chilling nights in the Aquarius where they play a lot of sixties and seventies music.

Hired a car for few days and drove to Sami, Poros and most other resorts round the coast and back across the middle of the island. The roads are suprisingly good.

Overall had a good time.Weather was good until in the night last night and today when it has poured with rain. Would not mind going back again sometime.

Just sadly come back from the Fabulous Marinos Apartments.
VERY CLEAN
GREAT LOCATION
QUIET
A great place for a family holiday, Marinos and his staff are fantastic and will do anything for you.
The accommadation is very clean and we found it ideal as a base for our family holiday. We were initially worried with a balcony as we have a young girl but this was no problem at all as they were very safe. The location is fantastic as it is just on the outskirts of the main street and directly opposite one of the best beaches on the island. The Princess Hotel next door openly welcomes you to use their excellent facilities and their pool is great.
Places we visited
Makris Gialos Beach~Sandy and very Child Friendly (CF) just accross the road
Platis Gialos Beach~Sandy and (CF) walking distance
Avithos Beach~Sandy and quiet (CF) a short drive just past airport
Karminia Beach~Sandy and shallow waters ideal for young children, nice drive just past Lourdata
Myrtos Beach~Pebbly and not at all child friendly. Great view from top and beautiful.
Antisamos Beach (captain correllis beach)~Beautiful pebbly beach (CF) a great drive over the mountains lots of mountain goats about and great views.
Assos Fishing Village~The most BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN KEFALONIA.............
Fiskardo fishing village~Another beautiful place a long but worthwhile drive.
Xi Beach (Lixouri)~Red sandy beach (CF) not very pretty nice drive there and take the very cheap ferry from Argostoli, it has great views.
Lixouri~Nice spot for lunch in the outdoor Tavernas in the square
Sami~Nice little port with waterside tavernas.
Poros~Nice spot for lunch with waterside tavernas
Mellasani Lake Cave~Beautiful and well worth the small admission charge
Argostoli~See the lighthouse and walk over the Drapano bridge. Lots of shops if you like that sort of thing (yuck). The cashpoints are here, none in Lassi. Cost about 5 Euros by Taxi or takes about 20-30 minutes from Lassi.
LASSI
A nice little place with plenty of Bars and Tavernas. By far the best place to eat is MYSTIC GUSTO near the 2 supermarkets, they have great food and great entertainment with Greek singing and dancing (fire dance and plate smashing) The staff are great and very friendly, our little girl was entertained and usually given free ice-creams with sparklers in. There is a small little play park mid way in Lassi.
The supermarkets are well stocked with all your needs.
A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FAMILY HOLIDAY LOCATION   10/10

Oh, forgot to say there are cash machines in Argostoli, neasr the square is the easiest way to find them.

Collette W

Hi,

The bus to Argostoli was 1 euro from Marinos Appts, the bus stop is right outside too. The taxi was also relatively cheap and constantly available right up to approx 2am. I think it was around 4.50 euros if I remember.
We are booking to return in May 2007.
Hope this helps!

What a holiday!!!

Lovely apartments, we were also at the top of the hill and we had a toddler in a pushchair and 3 large cases but we didn't let that ruin the holiday. Nice touch when we arrived Marinos came to introduce himself and explained the local supermarket - Minas, had left a welcome pack, which was much needed after the flight! Bottled water, 2 beers and 2 cans of coke! I've never received that before for free!!!

Plenty of car parking spaces for hire cars. Slight noise but only until midnight on mon, weds and fri when Zorbas restaurant do their traditional greek dancing, do not miss this! It's only a short walk away (2 mins downhill).

Also visit Veronicas bar and say "Yammas" (Cheers) to Georgio the waiter and Costas the barman. We felt so welcome there. Costas trusted us to take a bottle of wine after the supermarket had closed (1:30) and to come back and pay the next day!

We were glad we had lockable shutters so when we went out every day we left the doors wide open but the shutters locked so it was cool when we returned. This was mid sept, not high season though, we didn't need to use the aircon.

Our best holiday so far, we are about to book again for May and Marinos is at the top of our list.

We can't tell you how pleased we were with the apartment, it was spotless.  Bins were emptied everyday, bedding changed mid week.  Towels were provided (although they were a little small.)  Don't be put off by the photos in brochure(although we were told they were being updated for next season).  Transfer time was great.

Nichola C

Just returned from 1 week hols in these apartments with 2 young children, 2 drop off from airport so great transfer. Location is at begininng of Lassi but only a short walk to all facilitys and beautiful makris Yialos beach. Aprtment bins were emptied every day and sheets canged twice while we were there ! Towles, ( a bit on the small side) were also provided and changed twice, got every thing you will need and owner, Marinos is great and cannot do enough for you. Would definately recommend and will hopefully go again.

Tracey P

My husband and I returned from a two week break a couple of weeks ago. We were slightly nervous after seeing the picture First Choice offered. When we arrived at the apartments we were delighted. They were spotless with all that you need to see you through your holiday. There is a kettle, toaster, small tv and lockable safe to name but a few essentials.

The apartments are straight across from the pathway down to the main Lassi beach and only a couple of minutes away from two supermarkets which I found to be very pricey. The apartments are in 3 small block in gardens. The top apartments have balconies that are great for that last minute sunbathing to about 8pm and the lower apartments have a terrace.

I was slightly worried about the no tissue down the loo rule but after the first day or so it's fine and the apartments are cleaned daily.

I got back from Kefalonia a few weeks ago after a trip away with my mum. We absolutly loved these apartments. After looking at the picture that First Choice gave, i have to admit that i was slightly worried about what the state of the accommadation would be like, especially as i was the one who booked the holiday! I can honestly say that the picture does it no justice and these apartments are everything you need and everything you can expect for your money. They are fairly basic but clean which is all you really want  when youre on hol. Marinos is really friendly and is always around to help if you have a problem. We had one of the apartments in the first block facing out towards the lassi strip. The balcony was gorgeous for soaking up those last little rays at the end of the day!

All in all i would recommend these apartments to anyone wanting to stay in Lassi and i think the rating that they have is a bit unfair!

Lynda D

We've just returned from Kefalonia - last week of the season. Weather was brilliant - 28 degrees most days. Loads to do, beaches are excellent, particularly Mikris Gailos just across the road. We hired a car which is the best way to see Kefalonia, though the mountain roads are a bit hairy.

We thought the Marinos apartments were great, definitely more than 2*. They are well equipped, cleaned daily and have large balconies or terraces - everything you could want. There is a large choice of tavernas within 10 - 15 min walk. We recommend the Mystic Gusto taverna - less than 5 mins walk. Avoid the Chinese House restaurant at all costs; not to be confused with the Chinese Dragon near the lighthouse.

Enjoy - we did!

We stayed at Marinos about 5 years ago (when they were whitewashed with blue trimmings) We were up on the next to top set, so with 2 buggies and 2 toddlers found the concrete hill a good workout! Bit of a trek to the main bulk of restaurants, but don't let that put you off – as on the plus side you are more or less on a straight line to Makris Gialos. There used to be a shop at the bottom of the hill, but noticed this year it has since closed - Minas is a couple of hundred yards up the road. Couldn't fault the accom thoughl; we had a 'view' of the sea albeit a slither of blue over towards the Gradakia area. Would recommend the Marinos …Did they ever build a pool? K

Norman D

Very clean and well-kept. Aircon an extra cost (50 Euros for the week) but is essential. Kitchen had an electric kettle, toaster, fridge and 2 electric cooking rings. Beds & pillows were comfortable.

Toilet paper can't be flushed and has to be put in a bin, so we took a pack of "fragranced nappy sacks",
which made life a lot easier !
Apartments are on a hill, so if you're at the back, it's a steep-ish walk, but then it's quiet with a good view.
Only a short walk to the beach, but you then have to go down about 50 steps to reach beach level -
keeps you fit.
Can't understand why this place ony gets 4/10 as we really liked it and it should get at least 9/10

This is a great place to stay in Lassi. We had one of the apartments on the lowest level, which didn't have a sea view, but we had a large outside seating area with gardens. It's a nice place to sit for breakfast or evening drinks. Didn't really notice any noise from the road. Internally, the apartment was clean, bright and extremely good. At this time of year it's essential to have the air conditioning, which was superb and very reasonable. Marino and his brother were both very helpful. The Princess Hotel next door was fine, and there were usually sun loungers available. Their bar service around the pool is a bit slow, but who cares when you're on holiday. It's only a 5 minute stroll to the beach, which is also very nice. The apartments are well situated for the restaurants in Lassi. It's also worth going into Argostoli. It's only 5 euros by taxi, and we never had any problem in finding a taxi either way. There are some decent shops and lots of restaurants and a great cocktail bar in the square. We preferred the Harbour area for eating, but most of the restaurants are pretty good and reasonable. Port Side was our favourite there. Most of the restaurants in Lassi are good and all the staff speak perfect english.

Katrina K

We arrived back from Lassi earlier this week. It was perfect in every way. The Marinos Apartments have everything you need. Electric kettle, toaster, and small electric hob. They are in a brilliant location and the maid service is excellent, the owners are very accommodating and are very very helpful. You can also have air con in the bedrooms (extra charge, very reasonable and well worth it). The swimming pool next door at the Princess Hotel is lovely and is not too busy. There are other hotels with pools you can use but we preferred the Princess. The beach is just right across the road and the nearest supermarket is a 3 minute walk. We couldn't fault these apartments and would definitely go back again.

Wally H
