I have eaten at this restaurant over the last5 years and the consistency has been excellent. The swordfish is cooked to perfection, moist, juicy and full of taste. The special souvlaki includes massive chunks of pork, lamb and beef, chargrilled yet again delightfully succulent. The service has always been efficient and the staff friendly. Value for money excellent.
Good location on main Lassi Road, close to supermarket with easy access to beach. Situated next door to Olive Press restaurant. I thought it was fine but some people complained about the noise from the live music. Apartments standard basic supplies, but quite spacious.
The restaurant looks beautiful from the outside but I had a chicken dish that was served cold, greasy and was inedible. Presentation was non existent. Other members of my party said their food was OK. Complaints to the staff was met with indifference and we only ate their the once.
Located on the main Lassi Road. We stayed on the ground floor, and this was a bit dark, with no view so to speak of. The larger apartments situated on the first floor have a much better view and a lot of light. Studio itself was adequate, clean and quite spacious.
Top floor apartments have superb views over the bay. The two bedroom apartments are slightly compact, quite basic but have a nice balcony with a sun canopy which is most useful!
I think you mean Cafe Bar EDEN. If so, this is the classiest bar in Lassi. Waterfalls and Olive trees and designed around a garden. Indoor dancing area. Music appeals to slightly older more sophisticated age group and gets more contemporary later on. Will appeal to anyone who likes to chill out and people watch early on and boogie on down later. Friendly staff, good selection of drinks.
I have visited Ithaca many times over the years, on day trips from Kefalonia. You can sometimes get a trip by boat, which I enjoyed as it sailed all around Ithaca and the small harbours are beautiful approaching from the sea. Kioni is a superb place to chill out on the waterfront and have lunch. Most organised trips seem to be by coach and small ferry and this allows you a bit more time on the island. Vathi the capital is good for shopping, on our last visit we went to a Monastery at the top of the island which was really superb. Like Kefalonia Ithaca has very steep winding roads, so if you suffer from vertigo don't look down.
I was a bit disappointed with the trip to Zante. The ferry crossing is very nice, but I found that once you got to Zante it was a bit disappointing. The island isn't as stunning as Kefalonia which may have something to do with it. The tour tries to take in a comprehensive mix of sightseeing. We had a tour round the island and free time in Zante town, but it was a bit uninspiring. There seemed to be a lot of driving round whilst on Zante. Also a very long day.
Good way to see some main sites such as St Gerassimos Monastery, Drongarati Caves, Melissani Lake and Fiscardo in the North. St Gerassimos is conveniently situated next to a local winery, and this is usually included on the tour - you will come out with some of the local wine. If you have someone less able to walk with you I would suggest that the Drongarati Caves may be a bit much for them as there is a steep descent - there is a cafe at the entrance though if you don't want to go down. Similarly Melissani Lake is a "must see" but the approach can be a bit slippy. Cafe is again at the entrance and when we went both Drongarati and Melissani entrances were "optionals". Fiscardo is worth seeing and the harbour is nice to people watch. Beautiful views as you drive round the island.
Platys Yialos is the quieter of the two main beaches in Lassi. The approach from the road is long and winding. Can't comment on suitability for kids I've heard the currents are stronger here than on Makris Yialos (the main beach) but couldn't swear to that. It has got a blue flag so is deemed clean and I can confirm that. Less noisy than the main beach.
Beautiful long sandy beach that has great facilities in the way of tavernas and beach bars. The view from these bars is awesome and the sea when you are out there is equally awesome. It does get busy, and there seems to be a busy period around 4pm around the volleyball area. Locals exceptionally friendly (as all over the island)and don't seem to resent the tourist invasion - or if they do they have the good grace not to show it.
Weather was nice and temperate and plenty of room on the beaches. A couple of the bars had not opened which was a shame, but on the plus side there was plenty of room in the ones that were open. Water a bit cold for swimming.
Been several times in June which was quite hot, not too crowded but busy enough for all the facilities to be open. June is probably my favourite time to visit.
This place is always raved about and I've tried it twice. The first time I had a really poor meal, can't remember what it was but it was cold greasy and uninspiring. My second visit when I went along with friends who wanted to try it because of it's reputation proved a more pleasant experience, but the meal, swordfish was uninspiring, and the swordfish a bit dry. There is always a queue to get in, and the service could improve if they escorted you to a bar to wait for a table. When we were there they expected you to queue outside which you don't want to do on holiday, or indeed anytime. I may have been unlucky twice judging by the popularity of the restaurant, but I prefer other restaurants in Lassi.
On the main Lassi Road and easy access to Platys and Makris Yialos beaches. Nice pool area, but staff a bit reluctant to serve you! The outdoor bar gets quite busy and lively and I had a few nice cocktails there. Accommodation OK but balconies tiny. Rooms with a pool view have the best outlook. Hotel clean, and comfortable. I would stay there again.
