Lefteris Village

After holidays half and full board we decided the best way is self catering.

This year we visited Kefalonia and we stayed at the Lefteris Village Lassi

I did not care for the resort of Lassi but I did like this accommodation.

So what did I like about this place Hospitality is number one here with the owner Lefteris is available every day as well as the manager he also visits the bar from about 8pm until midnight not bad for a man that seldom takes a drink but he feels it is important to be their for his guest. This is family run and the new bar is run by his three daughters. I have to admit I have seldom met a man like Lefteris and we soon became friends. All the staff speaks good English with the exception of the cleaner who is great and responds to Hi and a smile I have to say she is the best cleaner I have known in my years of holidaying. The pool is immaculate. I have to be honest I cannot fault Lefteris Village. If we do return we will stay at Lefteris Village.

I am going to the Lefteris Village apartments on 27th Aug and my son (who is getting married there) is staying at the Panorama studios - are they near to each other?????? 

Can't agree with the 2 reviews from june/july.  We have just had 2 great weeks in Kef, returned 9th Aug. Yes its in an elevated position...you wouldn't get the brilliant views otherwise would you. Lassi 10 mins walk as is Argostoli if you take the short cut down to the Hospital, then left and 2nd right straight down to the harbours edge and bridge. Get a taxi back, 5 euro from anywhere and your on holiday aren't you!  Sheets and towels changed 4 times so 5 sets over the holiday period and bins emptied daily. Oh, and the cleaner hoovers like her life depends on it.  Owner Cheryl cannot be more helpful, she will try to do anything for anyone.

We were at Lefteris the same time as Denise Twydell (see previous review) and we agree with her comments.  Our apartment was not clean, the floor was dirty and dusty, and the shower curtain needed to be condemned, however the bedding and towels were clean and changed mid week, and the bins emptied daily.  The kitchen was well equipped but planned badly, kettle and toaster both needed to be perched on edge of work surface in order to reach sockets, beware if you have little ones!!

After reading lots of recommendations here regarding Lefteris Village I decided to book.  People had commented on how clean the apartments were but to be honest they were dirty when we arrived and they stayed that way all week.  Our room was not cleaned at all, although the bins were emptied daily, and we had clean linen and towels only once.  At times we had no water at all.

A very lovely appartment block with stunning views across Argostoli bay.  Very clean, very quiet.  The only drawback is that it is situated at the top of a very steep hill, so car hire is a must (you don't want to be walking up that baby when the temperature is 30 degrees plus!).  Highly recommended, in fact we specifically book these appartments each time we holiday in Kefalonia.

 We returned yesterday from Lefteris. It was our first visit to anywhere in Greece so we were a little apprehensive...no need! Cheryl and her daughters looked after everything in a friendly way and the Olympic Holidays rep Karen was excellent. Our 1-bedroomed flat had a bath with shower and curtain, loads of wardrobe space with hangers, a huge terrace with those stunning views over Argostoli and adequate cooking utensils (I don't cook on holiday but it was fine for breakfast and the occasional lunch) The fridge was modern with an efficient freezer compartment and the air conditioning a bargain at 10 euros for the week. The bins were emptied daily, bedlinen changed midway through our week's stay and the apartment was swept out at the same time.

We have just returned from spending one week in these apartments. Really enjoyed our stay there and the owner Cheryl was friendly and helpful. High above Lassi with great views and pool and a lovely breeze in the scorching heat.It is on a hill but a lovely walk down if you turn right and go past The Olive Garden. Good stop off for breakfast and bar plus views spectacular and Nik and Bill are really friendly. If you go down the other way you can cut down through Greek residential area and within 10 minutes you are in Agostolli. Need a taxi back will cost you 5 euros, walked it a few times but weather too hot.     Agostolli great atmosphere, great shops food and bar...try the Gyros Pita at the Grill, next to Creperie. Really enjoyed it here on an evening. Unfortunately no atmosphere in Lassi, its just a strip of bars, restaurants and supermarkets. La Gondola really good food and drink.Definitely hire a car and tour the island. Best places are Agia Efimia and Assos also Fiskardo and Sami  lovely and unspoilt.Just drive around and explore....be careful on the bends....couldn't fit it all in so we need to come back.Overall what a beautiful island, family friendly, no usual riff raff and so relaxed also great food, even the local Robolo wine tasted great.You must go, if you can't get Lefteris then try The Olive Garden with First Choice.

 We,ve got it so wrong here, Kefalonia is so chilled, relaxing and everyone seems to be really enjoying life and it makes you realise what you're missing out on.  I've just got back from Lassi and I'm very depressed as I loved it so much I didnt want to leave.  The apartments were brilliant and I havent got one complaint.  The hill is steep but you dont really notice it that much if you've been on the cocktails all night!!  Anyway a taxi up the hill only costs 5 Euros.  The views from the apartments are fantastic and more than compensate for the walk up the hill, and there is a really nice pool-side bar called The Olive Garden part way up the hill that serves lovely food and ice cold beer with beautifull views over Lassi.  There is so much to see and do on Kefalonia you need to stay for two weeks minimum or go back, which is definatley what we will be doing next year and I'm not coming back!!

Fantastic Apartments, perfect for those people wanting peace and quiet just outside the main areas of lassi and Argostoli. The apartment was clean and above greek general standards, even having a shower curtain !!. The Air conditioning was excellent, brand new in fact and only cost 10 Euros per week.

hi. im being dragged to kefalonia and im staying at the lefteris ap. and was wondering, is there any nightlife around?? apart from oskars? im 17 and going out and lazing round the pool are my main concerns. will this holiday be for me?? is there night life around any where as well? we are hiring a car so its not a problem to travel. plese email me back. thanks clarex

Lefteris apartments are wonderful. Typically Greek- Shower room, but there is a very good little cooker-much better than the normal self catering cooker-with proper pans and utensils. We managed to cook pizza and pasta supper.  There are very good fridges too, and the sink is a proper sized one too.

We had apartment no 14, 2 bedroomed, and only 2 of us so we were spoiled.

The views are fantastic, but if you go early or late season the wind whistles around the roof, but that breeze will be very welcome in high season.All apartments have a balcony & pegs & a wahing line to hang clothes off.

The pool was spotless, plenty of beds, but not many brollies.

Cheryl & her daughter can;t do enough for you-she is American born, so no language barriers, and will gladley run you down to Lassi to pick up a car if you can't make it down yourself. She will organise Taxis for you too. In May 2005 a Taxi back up the hill cost average of 5.00 eurus, but I found the downhil harder than the up hill!  It is a mega hill, and all reports on here are true-is about a 1:4.

The only downside for us (and yes, the hill was not that bad really) was the noisy road next to apartment. But then we live in a village, so we were not used to this noise.

Just back from 7 days in Kefalonia at the Lefteris appartments in Lassi,although the appartments are basic with no frills they more than do the job in my opinion. Absolutely stunning views from the pool area and all the appartments look over beautifull scenery.
Be prepared for a hike up to the appartments it is very steep and probably not ideal for the elderly or infirm, but taxis are abundant.
Try and hire a vehicle as the island is amazing especially the north ie:Myrtos beach, and Assos. Overall a wonderfull island with the Lefteris appartments providing a reasonable level of comfort and views to die for...!

Fantastic views of Argostoli and the bay from our balcony. Equally stunning views of Lassi from a spot about 100 yards over the brow of the hill. Walk down the hill is fine but get a taxi back. Enjoyed the Aqua Marina Bar for good service and friendly staff. All the locals were very friendly. Will return.

Overall ok apartments, clean with basic facilities- but it seemed crazy to me to have the apatments ont top of a mountain (excellent views mind) but with no pool bar or shop close by! the walk DOWN to Lassi is nice(takes about 20 minutes) but dont even think about walking back up!!Its way too steep, and definately dont attempt in the dark as cars burn up the hill forcing you leap into the bushes in fear of life! So taxi it back. We booked these VERY cheap so were't too fussed about the position, but would not have been happy if they were more expensive, so dont pay too much. Still. we had a great time its very beautiful and Lassi beach is gorgeous!

Can anyone help me? Going to Lefteris Village Appartments in another week or so. Is there any security in apartments for keeping passports etc. Also can anyone confirm whether there are fridges in apartments? Looking forward to holiday and any advice anyone can give me would be helpful.

We realy enjoyed our stay at Lefteris,We were made very welcome,our appartment was cleaned daily by the brilliant staff,the walk was great to enable you to experience the veiws of both sides of Lassi(just dont try it in flip-flops).The pool was very clean throughout our two week stay,We will be back !!

Just returned from Lefteris Village and had a fantastic holiday. Didn't hire a car and found the walk from Lasi steep but not a problem.... it's worth it anyway because the views from your room and around the pool are stunning. Would recommend for anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday!!

we stayed here in june,although these apartments are situated on top of a very large hill the views are worth every step!!.cheryl the manager is very friendly and happy to help with any queries and questions. our apartment was very clean and cheryl ensured our apartment was kept clean and towels,bins changed on a regular basis and always making sure we were happy!. i would reccomend staying here and would definatly visit again- just dont stay here if you cant handle the hill as it is a problem for those who are not very fit!!!

could anybody let us know if the lefteris Village Apts in Lassi have fridges in each apt or if not are there facilities to re-freeze ice packs
