Hi - it's in Thomas Cook's Summer Sun brochure  (3rd edition) which finally came out at the end of December

I really hope you can help me.... I went to the Apollo Apartments in Skala about 3 years ago and me and my boyfriend absolutely loved it there. We really want to go back, but we are having no luck tracking the place down so we can book it. I have searched on Google many times, and although it comes up on Thomsons with pictures, when you try to book it, it shows no record of it being on the list of apartments in Skala. I have even been into the travel agents to try and book it, but they have said that it looks as though it has come out of Thomsons after the last summer season which is why it won't let you book it. I can't find any details of the owner on the internet, no telephone or website or anything. If you have any contact details or ideas on how we can find this, I would be really grateful if you could let me know. Many thanks, Sarah

Have just returned from a fab week at the Apollo Apartments.  The whole place has a tranquil and relaxing feel (which is helped being out of town).  The gardens are well looked after and stocked with a lovely array of flowers, shrubs and fruit trees.  The apartments themselves are better than we could ever have hoped for, with a lovely big balcony and air conditioning.  The owners and their children are very welcoming - and the pool bar is a welcome relief if you have just walked back from Skala on a hot day.

We went for the first week in October and, apart from a storm which lasted 36 hours and was an absolute hum-dinger, we had lovely sunshine everyday.

What a great location.  The views are amazing and it's definitely the best place to be.  The rooms are clean and tidy and air conditioning (which is a must) is inclusive in price. There is a TV in the room but reception is poor so BBC World service is probably the best you can expect.  Also, no reception for your mobile if you can't live without during the holiday.  The pool is great and you can sit on the sunbeds with a fantastic view out to sea.  The pool bar has the usual snacks available which are very reasonable.  It is a long way out of town though, so either hire a car or be prepared to be the 5 euros for a taxi each way.  it's half an hour walk but at night its more than a bit dodgy.  The little coves nearby are great for snorkelling, with shade if you are prepared to sit in a cave!  The best taverna in town is Galera, and the Chinese restaurant also comes recommended.  All in all, great place to stay.

Stayed for 2 weeks in August and we would not hesitate to return to the Apollo, as stated on other reviews the staff and owners are very friendly, everwhere is kept spotlessly clean, there is plently of parking space for your hire car which I think is essential.

There a couple of Taverna's within a ten minute walk, Penelopes being one of them which we used a couple of times and enjoyed.
If you enjoy snorkelling, then 50 meters from the Apollo to the right of a small harbour is some of the best snorkelling I did whilst on Kefalonia, the different types of colourful fish I spotted was amazing.

Fantastic place. Can't fault it and I agree with those who say it was like being in your private villa but it probably felt like that becuase it was a little further out from Skala! would go there again tomorrow!

The only down point was that it is difficult to get a cab from central Scala back to the appartments after 1am, and a little too far to walk (about 3.5km). If you do walk back at night you'll need a torch there are no street lights!!!

Great staff too Lucy the pool-bar waitress/ex-Bulgarian Gymnast was fantastic entertainment! Hi Lucy!

click to enlargeThe Apollo Apartments were beautiful. Gorgeous pool and bar - fabulous views from the poolside. There are also a couple of little coves nearby, with steps leading down to pebbly beaches. The water is picture-perfect clear. A number of people have said it's a 25 minute walk into town. Maybe they're not that fit - it only took us about 10 to 15 minutes to stroll in! You can get a cab for about 4Euros.  But we happily carried bits of shopping back - and were glad to be a bit more private. Skala is a lovely little place, with excellent restaurants and bars. Go there!

very quiet, clean, and the staff amazingly friendly. A little out of
town/the main beaches (25 min walk - which was too much for
us with a baby). Great views, and very modern. So quiet it was
like having our own private villa.

We stayed here 2 weeks and the place is very modern, extremely
quiet to the point where we felt we had our own private villa. The
staff were absolutely lovely, and the views amazing. It was very
clean and the swimming pool lovely.
The only bad thing (for us) was that it was a 25 min walk to
town/most beaches and this was a little too much with a baby.
However, it was a lovely place with the very nice San Georgiou
Hotel near by, who's facilities you could also use.

fantastic view, very clean and tidy, friendly staff, something for people looking for quiet holidays

There are stunning views from the apartment balcony and the pool/garden areas. The apartments are clean and well looked after as are the gardens. Having a car for the duration is well worth the cost and the location (3km from Skala) is a bonus not a fault. We loved it!

Sorry I forgot to mention that the weather was great in fact we went in late June last year, and on the last but one day while we were cruising the islands on a great trip organised by Airtours which took you to Skorpios and Lefkas, the temperature rose to 33 degrees,nice..!

You could visit old Skala which is a bit of a hike out of town.If you want good food the Pines restaurant is very hard to beat and its sister Bar/restaurant on the beach is great for a cool drink or breakfast with great views of the sea. The nightlife is quite limited, but BB's is good if you want to drink with the locals and play pool and surf the net (the pines 2 on the beach, has internet access as well)for a good knees up Scandanavia is open till early in the morning you will love it the barman loves a drink himself, and is not that fussy how much you pay him.Their is a nightclub between Skala & Poros which I cannot remember the name of, but its really good and is built into a cave, the only draw back was the taxis don't pick you up from there in the morning, so if last year is anything to go by your in for a long walk home, unless like me you are mates with some of the locals.(If you get to Marieta hotel on an evening buy Mike the barman a drink for me) enjoy your holiday,Yamas.
