Hi Haved booked to go into the Skala Hotel in Skala can anyone let me know if they have fridge facilities and what they are like.
Just come back from our two week holiday /honeymoon 5th aug to 19th aug 08 and we stayed at pelagos apts.. we had a brilliant time our apts was loverly all brand new. location is excellent the people that run the place were great too.We made great friends with the two dauters that help run the bar ect with mum, couldnt fault anything. will miss everything about it i have to say i was emotional when i left and never been like that befor about a holiday and cant waith to go back..dont take any notice of the bad comments!!!!!
We stayed at the Pelagos Apartments Skala for a week from 3rd August 2008. The apartments are everything you need for a self catering holiday. The rooms are cleaned daily (except 1 day in the week) and if any problems arise, they are soon resolved. Air conditioning is available (we paid 5 euros per day) which was worth it as it was extremely hot. The pool area is lovely and clean and you can get drinks and snacks from the poolside bar. The owners have a BBQ on a Thursday were there is plenty of food and greek dancing from the 2 sisters who help to run the place. Walking to the town centre is about 10minutes away where you will find numerous bars, restaurants, gift shops and a few supermarkets. We went to the Siroco restaurant every morning for a full English breakfast (5.50 euros) and you get the works. To try gyros, go to the Kebab House (its well worth the money) and for cheap drinks go to Nero (they do a loyalty card system, for every full card you get a free drink), but the drinks are cheap anyway and the atmosphere is great.
Just got back from 2 fabtastic weeks at the Pelagos apts in Skala. I was a rep for 7 years so know all about the standard of accom you can get in Greece. Well Pelagos is above and beyond the normal standard, both the old and the new block have been newly furnished, the pool / bar area is a gem and the family that run the apts are really friendly and always there if you need them for anything, eager to please and want to make sure everyone has a lovely holiday. 10 minute easy stroll into town for the bars / tavernas / beach. I could go on but I think you get the idea!!! Yammas!
hi me and my mum have just got a quote to go to pegalos bay hotel on the 22nd of july she would like to know if there are shops or a shop near by where we can get groceries. if anyone could get back to me on this asap i would be very grateful as we need to book it today! thankyou.
These apartments are fantastic and great value too. We stayed with our 5yr old son and loved it. He was made very welcome by the family who own and run the complex. The apartment was cleaned every day except one each week and when a small problem arose, it was sorted the same day. The new pool and bar area are a real bonus providing a suntrap, sunbeds and umbrellas, snacks, icecreams and drinks. The village is only about 10 minutes walk away and within easy walking distance. the resort is lovely too, lots of choices of Greek restaurants, kebab/giros places and a chinese and italian. We hired a car and found it to be very useful for getting out and about, definitley worth considering. We would stay here again without any question of a doubt! Missing it already and only been home one day.
we stayed at pegalos appts. in 2004. the place is lovely and clean. the only problem was the owner and his little clique. us non 20 somethings were made too feel inferior if we didnt join in with him and them. the music went on till the very early hours (thank god for double glazing and a/c in the rooms). cant fault the cleanliness and location. would love to visit the island again but stay somewhere else.stayed at pegalosdd your comment here
Basic but it never claimed to be otherwise and very clean,.however, we were on the second floor and there is no fire escape nor even advise to tell you what to do in case of a fire...very dangerous and the kitchen stove in our apartment was located right next to the door. A good view from the balcony though before you jump.
We stayed at Pelagos in September 2005, with Libra, and dispite reading some previous comments, we found the apartments to be extremely good. The linen was changed several times and the bins were emptied more frequently. The apartments are about a 20min walk from the town centre, which was not difficult and even the steep approach we soon got used to. All in all, the apartments were clean, the location was good, they were well equiped and had air-conditioning. We would not hesitate to stay there again
We stayed at the Pelagos Apartments at the end of Oct 2005. Our top floor apartment was great with a balcony at the front and rear. The apartments are about 5 mins from the village there is a short but steep incline upto the apartments. We had beatuiful views of the sea and the mountains. The apartments was clean and the beds were changed mid week. I would sugggest a car hire to see the rest of the Island.
Owners of the appartments were very accommodating, giving us extra towels etc. when asked. When the appartment was cleaned it was to a high standard. Very peaceful. We would go to the appartments again, however tour operator claimed that the apartment had two bedrooms plus living room, thisis not the case.
The location of these apartments is quite good, despite being up a steep hill, the surrounding area is quite peaceful. Unfortunately we found the apartments to be quite dirty, the bin in the toilet was only emptied every 3/4 days and one night we were left with no towels and only one sheet for two beds and we were unable to contact anyone to get some. We had a resident mouse in our room which scratched around most of the night. Also the bedroom was below the corridor to the rooms above so it was extremely noisy at all times of the day and night with people returning to their rooms. There was a broken pane of glass in one of the patio doors and some of the electric sockets were hanging off the wall. We would never go there again!
Has anybody stayed at the Pegalos Apartments in Scala recently? If so can someone give me an honest opinion on what it was like.
Located on the edge of town with very steep hill to climb up to apartment and the walk into town is along the main road without street lights or paving - not very safe. Definately not for anyone with walking difficulties. The adjacent hotel, where you can use the pool, was very nice and served reasonably priced and good quality snacks. The kitchen in the apartment was poor and lacked sufficient cooking utensils and plates etc. In summary, the apartment is OK, but the location is far from ideal.
Just returned from 2 weeks in the pelagos apartments.Found them very clean and less basic than usual for Greece.Although we did not use it the air conditioning was free despite saying otherwise in the brochure.Full bath with overhead shower which again is quite unusual. Also had a double bed which depending on your viewpoint is either a blessing or a hinderance.Quite a steep climb from the road to the apartment so not suitable for everyone. Our room was on the upper floor at the rear of the building and looked out on the mountains.Very enjoyable stay.
Visited May 2003, very clean large apartments with the usual s/c facilities and free a/c. Friendly owners of this recently new build situated up a steep stoney path two mins from Eleanna apartments. No pool but can use Eleanna's and any other in Skala. Ideal for that quiet relaxing getaway. Would highly recommend Pelagos, but watch out for that steep walk home.
