We stayed at the Kekos Studios and Apartments in mid August and had room 1 - a double bedded studio on the ground floor. Overall, the accommodation was OK.
Location
Kekos (also called Kekas by Olympic holidays) is situated up the main hill, about 100m from the brow of the hill, down a side street on the right (with the sea behind you). The brochure states it's a 25 min walk to the beach but that must be walking at a snail's pace, we walked at a leisurely pace and got to the beach in 15 mins. It took a bit longer coming back up!
Rooms
The room we had was light and airy, with plenty of space although the bathroom was tiny. It appeared clean but this was a bit hit and miss - the shower curtain absolutely reeked! The information within the room said the apartment would be cleaned on a Thursday and Saturday, however, we had the bins emptied and clean linen provided on the Friday - and no cleaning was done at all. Other minor annoying points - there were no curtains so the room was never dark; no hand towels were provided and there was only one toilet roll for the entire stay. It doesn't cost much to buy but it's the first time I've come across the need to buy my own before. Self catering facilities were standard for Greece.
The air con worked well - at time of writing, air con for a studio cost 45E with a safe deposit box costing 10E - the two together cost 50E. For an apartment the air con/safe deposit box was 90E per week.
Olympic Holidays
I'd not used Olympic Holidays before, but I was very impressed, reasonably priced accommodation and helpful reps. Would definately travel with them again.
Overall,it was a nice quiet location, not too far from the beach etc. I'd stay there again but only for the right price.
Fantastic apartments, i went with my family august 2005 and are going again august 2006. Very quiet, i woild definatley recommend these apartments to anyone.
There is a pool about 25metres from the kekos, not sure what apartments they are in but you access it from the main street. When we stayed at the Kekos it was charging 2 euros per sun bed. It is only a small pool however and can get a bit crowded. We preferred the pool bar at Makis apartments on the other side of the main street (about 50 metres) much larger pool with no charge for using the sunbeds (as long as you buy a drink at the bar. The setting is far better here too. The pool is signposted from the main street if i remember
very clean , spacious rooms with plenty of spaces to hang your clothes! owners are very friendly but tended to keep a low profile though were great if we had any problems. VERY quiet at night as they are towards the back of the village and down a side street, which means that with the long uphill walk from the tavernas to tire you, and the silence , you are guaranteed a good nights sleep! definately recommended!
Decent size apartment and very clean.
I have booked to stay in these apartments in June next year. Can anyone supply details of nearest bars/shops, is there a pool nearby etc
