What a great location. The views are amazing and it's definitely the best place to be. The rooms are clean and tidy and air conditioning (which is a must) is inclusive in price. There is a TV in the room but reception is poor so BBC World service is probably the best you can expect. Also, no reception for your mobile if you can't live without during the holiday. The pool is great and you can sit on the sunbeds with a fantastic view out to sea. The pool bar has the usual snacks available which are very reasonable. It is a long way out of town though, so either hire a car or be prepared to be the 5 euros for a taxi each way. it's half an hour walk but at night its more than a bit dodgy. The little coves nearby are great for snorkelling, with shade if you are prepared to sit in a cave! The best taverna in town is Galera, and the Chinese restaurant also comes recommended. All in all, great place to stay.
The Chinese House is a welcome break from the usual menus from the Tavernas. Can especially recommend the Combination starter for two which was scrummy. We had a couple of meals here and both were delicious. Disagree with previous comment about not being enough to eat. The house wine is organic which is lovely, but they give you a taste first, so if you don't like it, tell them and choose something else!
I agree with every other comment here. The nicest place to eat in Skala. There is a great choice on the menu and Annie and all the staff are great. Whether you choose traditional Greek or fish or steak, the standard is always high.
Well, I guess we must have caught them on an off day! Although the staff were lovely, there wasn't a lot of choice on the menu and I ordered fresh sea bream but it was so overcooked it was really chewy. We had the house red which was 'thin' but drinkable. A disappointing meal.
