Went to Zorba's restaurant.I was there yesterday in fact! I love the dancing and the dancer! Smiles all round. x x
A brilliant atmosphere, especially on party nights when it is advisable to book a table to avoid disappointment. The food is good value for money and the entertainers get everyone able to walk involved, with a little persuation. This includes the walking dance that takes you through the supermarket next door (usually three times per dance), a table dance for the young and energetic and the two tables carried between between the entertainers teeth while dancing. Well worth it and ideally located in the centre of Lassi.

HELLO EVERYBODY. WELL, I HAVE TO SAY THAT I REALLY ENJOYED BEING IN ZORBAS RESTAURANT. MY MUM AND ME WENT TO KEFELONIA FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE MIDDLE OF SEPTEMBER THIS YEAR (04)AND I THOUROUGHLY ENJOYED THE LIVELY, WELCOMING, FRIENDLY, CHARACTERISTIC RESTAURANT. THE FOOD WAS FINE. I DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING THAT WAS HORRIBLE! I HAD SOME MEATBALLS, SPAGHETTI, MEAT PIE, SOME NICE SALADS. ALL OF WHICH WERE HOT AND TASTY. MY MUM ALSO ENJOYED THE FOOD. TO ME, THE MOST I LIKED WAS THE DANCING; THE DANCERS WERE VERY ENTERTAINING AND ENCOURAGED PEOPLE TO GET INVOLVED. THERE WAS SUCH A SENSE OF UNITY IN THE RESTAURANT AND IT REALLY MADE PEOPLE HAPPY THERE. WE HAD A GOOD SERVICE, THE WAITERS WERE VERY POLITE AND STARTED CONVERSATIONS, THEY BROUGHT OUR FOOD OUT QUICKLY AND WE FELT RELAXED. IT WAS OBVIOUSLY GOOD BECAUSE IT WAS PACKED WHEN THE DANCE NIGHTS WERE ON. THE MUSIC WAS FAB. THE CATS WEREN'T PESTERING AS SUCH AS JUST FRIENDLY. WE ENDED UP GOING FOUR NIGHTS OF THE WEEK. CHRISTOS WAS WOW! SO IF YOUR READING THIS "HELLO!" TOP NIGHT EITHER FOR A QUIET OR LIVELY EVENING.
we went to zorbas 2 times on our 7th holiday to kefalonia we only went on greek nights because they are so much fun all the waiters get up dancing with you there all friendly. the youngest waiter christos is sosososo fit!!!! he danced with me both times and the food is great service is fast and the price is ok but not to expensive as some people say. we are going back to zorbas sometime in july on our next holiday which will be our 8th visit to kefalonia!!! cant wait for it!!!
what a refreshing change from Oscars. The food was excellent and the entertainment was great[even before the Greek dancing started]If you are going to go on a Greek night make sure you book as it always gets busy, and dont be late as we were last year, otherwise your table will be given to someone else.
We stayed in Lassi recently for a week. We tried a number of restaurants along the strip, some were average, some were better than others (la Gondala). Zorba's to be fair is not bad at all. Its inexpensive (by uk / London standards)and the staff are friendly and cheerful. The seafood platter for two was a delight and the 'stifadho' was lovely. Don't be put off by some of the negative reviews here. Our only criticism would be that perhaps Zorba's tries a little too hard to satisfy the English pallet..i.e the recurrance of 'chips' on the menu....but Zorba's is good fun and definitely worth a look.
I have to disagree with all of you here. I went to Zorba's 4 times on my trip to
Lassi in July.
I found it was the quickest service in all of Lassi, the food was excellent &
portions were just enough, I didn't see one cat in the place and the waiters
were the friendliest I met there. I had swordfish, souvlaki, Kef Meat Pie,
Moussaka & couldn't find fault with any of it.
The other thing I liked about this place is it WASN'T full of whining Brits
complaining about slow service & lack of english food (which was something I
noticed in most other places). Finally the Greek night- ok a little repeative, but
still great fun. Went to Oscars once & it was dead.... NO MORE TO BE SAID
We visited this restaurant on the first night, I had an omlette and chips and my hubby had a mixed grill. The food was lukewarm at best and my omlette looked more like scrambled eggs!! Price was quite high compared to the other restaurants we visited and there are definately better restaurants to eat in. The greek dancing night looked like fun but a bit repetitive on the dances.
This place made our holiday. We went four times and every time we had a brilliant evening. You must go on a Mod,Wed or Friday when the dancing is on, the music is great the danciung really good andf the whole place rocks and gets involved.
The Food is ok, not brilliant but ok. The staff are freindly and will stop and have a chat with you. All in all the best place for a laugh and night out in Lassi without doubt.
We went here on 3 occasions. The first time i was not impressed as it was quite empty and i did not enjoy the meal however we returned a second time on the greek dancing night which was a very good night the fod was much better, the third time was even better as the meal was even better and the atmosphere was too, i recommend this place x
Food was OK but probably the most expensive by comparison to all the restaurants in Lassi. You will get better value for your money at La Gondola or Monte Nero. We were not there on a music night so presumably this would give you added value.
Good food, friendly staff that remember you, service good early on but gets a bit hectic later on in direct proportion to the number of people waiting for tables.
Friendly cats and good wine and beer.Try the chicken fillet Zorbas.
Try here you can't go wrong
We went only the once and had the seafood platter which we enjoyed. It was a non dance night so cannot comment on that.
I enjoyed Zorba's, both on dance nights and non-dance ones.
The waiters are friendly, as for previous comments regarding cats, I agree, just ignore them they soon wander off - do not feed them.
Christo who leads the dances has endless energy and seems genuine in his enthusiasm. Yes, Zorba's music is repeatative, but so what...you have a good atmosphere and surely it is good to witness different nationalities laughing and enjoying each others company ?
I loved Celphalonia and I enjoyed Zorba's and I believe reader you will too
We went here for a change of scene and couldn't have chosen a better night. Tuesday was quiet and no the cats did not bother us at all. We're animal daft people anyway. Greece is famous for it's cats and if the restaurant and taverna owners don't have a problem, neither should we vistors. Ignore them and they take the hint - eventually!
Anyway, delicious seafood platter and stifado, good wine, ice cold bottled water and we were given a large complimentary plate of fruit after our deserts. Staff full of smiles and "kali orexi" (bon appetite)
Zorbas was great. Def go on a greek dancing night though as there is more of an atmosphere and its real fun. The food is really good and reasonably priced, we found the calamari to be the best we've ever had! The waiters were fine we got good service. Cats can be a pain but whos to blame for that? (Don't feed them!!!!) Prefered it to Oskars i'm afraid!
Just got back from Lassi. We tried Zorba's - the food was dreadful and not worth bothering with, but the greek dancing was rather fun.
We stayed vrtually next door to Zorbas - yes the music is
repetetive - but good spirited! We decided to go for the kids' sake
- and begrudgingly had a good night!
Food OK no suprises - service pretty good and the entertainment
was genuinely OK too - just too much repetition - afterall - how
many Zorbas dances do you want!
Usually pretty full on Greek nights - and reasonable value. Just
manages to stay on the right side of tacky - but lose the English
bloke who pretends to be a dancer!! The playground in the back
has also seen better days - keep an eye on your kids if they want
to go down there!!
I can't understand why people wouldn't like it, a must for all those looking for a great night out, with good music, food and service, what more could you ask for on holiday?! Go and try it!
If you want a good Greek night out it's a lot better then Oscars. But the food is just OK. Not as expensive as Oscars and an easier location.
I would just like to add that the restaurant and supermarket next door are owned by brother and sister. Hence why the lady from next door as one person wrote did the dancing. Yes the music can become repetetive at times, but it is good fun and certainly great value for money for live family entertainment I ask you where else would you get free entertainment? . I think some girls must have an affection for their chests.. we spoke to many people there and nobody had any complaints about the waiters and all felt they were genuinely friendly. The food is much better this year, I think they finaly shot the chef last year to get him to leave ;-) We would recommend it and I hope others do too. It is one of genuine places to go out to, not a smarmy give us your money place. Try wwww.postmehome.com for more reviews on places to eat.
we did not have a bad meal here and only saw 1 cat waiter's were good and the greek dancing interesting i have been to worse places like the olive press
went to zorbas once have to agree with the lady who said the waiters only want to eye you up, they were all bloody night the food was crap and the dancing not much better go to oskars its a much better night and cheaper would never go to zorbas again
Slimey, over the top waiters who were more intrested at looking at my chest than giving good srvice. "Greek" ight was a total joke, what was greek about it. The English man there should sit down and leave it to the proffesionals. Food tasted like frozen meat put in the microwave. I have nothing good to say about this very cheesy taverna. If you are looking for a teverna with a bit of class go to the Olive Press.
We had a pretty average meal in here - didn't get a lot of it either. Didn't go on Greek night but I would imagine the atmosphere is a lot better then, as it was very quiet when we went.
The worst dinner we had and the greek dancing night was done by an english man and the lady owner of the shop next door?
price was ok
and yes there were loads of cats - not a problem anywhere else we dinned?
go to olive press, oscars or nefeli's or find your own favourite!!!
We have been going to Kefalonia for 7 years and love the place. Zorbas is a very good Restaurant. The atmosphere and staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. We have tried many meals off the menu and never had any complaints. The live dancing is entertaining, Cristos, Mina and all the dancers are very good. The only down side that spoilt it was a 'flat footed' ex English policeman, pretending to be a Greek dancer and failing miserably. Stay sitting down Roy and leave it to the experts.
Just got back from Lassi and I wouldn't recomend Zorbas. It was the worst meal we had all fortnight. Stay well clear. The chicken was awful, the place itself was filthy with too many cats prowling about (I hate cats!). It was a waste of a meal.
Just got back from Lassi and would recommend Zorbas Restaurant to any one the friendly staff make you feel so welcome we found the service, food and entertainment were all great. When we first arrived in Lassi we tried three other restaurants then called in at Zorbas and ate there every night after that. Would give them 10 out of 10
Our parents have stayed at San Lorenzo's village for about three years now. We went out last year for our honeymoon/family holiday. We loved every minute of it and are planning to go back out next year. Zorba's is a must with their friendly staff, excellent entertainment and lovely food. We would recommend them to anyone.
Wife and Daughter went back to Kefalonia twice after our June trip looking to buy a place so they can visit Zorbas on a regular basis. I think It's just so Sefra (my daughter) can be near Cristos and his dancing....... Great place, excellent restaurant.
Oh my! looks like it went down hill towards the end of the season. The greek dancing night was good. Stavros dances with two tables in his teeth, and they dance on fire, they seemed to enjoy it. The music does get a bit much after a while, they play the same song over and over and over. Food ok, the fish was especially nice.
The entertaiment was good but we went for a good mealand did not get it!
Spent two evenings here during our two week stay. The food was very good and the service much better than it was two years ago. The only thing which spoilt our last meal there was that one of the many cats decided to jump up on our table to attack my husbands lamb and in the process knocked over a whole litre of wine. The waiters were quick to intervene and change our table and replace the wine. Fortunately my husband had nearly eaten his meal but couldn't face finishing it off!!
The food was cold and my kleftiko looked like the product of a heavy night the day before. The evening was salvaged a little by some intersting greek dancing.
Found the food basic but good.Staff very friendly. House wine very good. Greek dancing made a very good evening. Well worth a visit
The special fish platter for two sounded good. When it arrived it was dry and boring. A bit like a fish version of the "ultimate" meals served at poor pub steakhouses in the UK. A chef who knows how to put meat under thr grill but little else. Certainly not for foodies!!
This was the best by far and the house wine was good and cheap. Mixed fish platter for two - yummy we only stayed a week and wished we could have gone more - a must for all visitors to Lassi
Had such a great time here in June/July 2002, my daughter and I are returning in September 2002. We can't wait!! Fabulous time, great fun. Atmosphere brilliant!! Christos encourages everyone to join in and makes sure you all have a great evening. Greek dancing is on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but any evening guarentees a good time. Family run restaurant with good and various dishes all reasonably priced (chicken a la creme was a hit with all of us). The whole family, including next door (Minas supermarket)joins in, it's like being at a family party where everyone is made welcome. Don't miss it!!!!!
We did return to Kefalonia this year .Had a fab time but unfortunately we couldnt stay in Lassi as there were no spaces left ANYWHERE for the time that we wanted to go.Although, we visited Lassi very often and travelled right acroos the island to Zorbas ever Monday,Wednesday and Friday night. And boy was they happy to see us!!They are coming to stay with us in November now. They are so friendly!!Like all greeks.Check out www.postmehome.com for photos/video clips and xtra info on Zorbas.Regards Jess : )
Just spent last 2 weeks of July in Kefalonia. Stayed in Ventura rooms in Lassi it was basic, very clean, lovely people and beautiful views. Spent many nights at Zorbas and had a brilliant time the entertainment was excellent, Christof is an excellent dancer, should not be missed 10 out of 10. I did visit other Tavernas but Zorbas was my favourite. Can't wait to go back.
Stayed in the Panorama apartments in Lassi, basic, very clean excellent pool, great view. Fotunately found Zorbas on first night. Great family run restaurant with the excellent dancing three nights a week. Visited some other restaurant the first week but spent most nights back here for the second week. Great family run restaurant, excellent dancing by Christos and "Domestos" Why only 4/10????? Visit on a dance night and enjoy the evening.
Hi, I do not know WHY this restaurant has been rated 4/10 but i think that it should definitely be rated 10/10. Excellent food, service and entertainment!!!
Hi, We visited Lassi last year(had a great time) and almost every night we went to the Zorbas tavern along the main Lassi road (Next door to Minas minimarket- you cant miss it). This is an excellent restaurant and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays they had the traditional Greek nights where Greek music was played from about 9.30/10.00 in the evening. Christos, along with his sister (you will be able to join in too when offered) will dance to the traditional `Zorbas Dance` music. Christos will also perform two other dances(I`ll leave it as a surprise!!!!!!) Food is excellent (do not miss their `Mythos beer`- it`s lovely!), service is extremley friendly, love children like all Greeks and the restaurant itself is very clean. I am returning again this Summer and i can not wait. Email me if anyone need any further information on directions to get there or even on this excellent family-run restaurant itself. Hope this helps.
