Just spent last 2 weeks of July in Kefalonia. Stayed in Ventura rooms in Lassi it was basic, very clean, lovely people and beautiful views. Spent many nights at Zorbas and had a brilliant time the entertainment was excellent, Christof is an excellent dancer, should not be missed 10 out of 10. I did visit other Tavernas but Zorbas was my favourite. Can't wait to go back.

Spent 2 weeks in July in Ventura Rooms. At first it was a bit of a shock at how basic it is, but thats probably because I was spoilt from my last holiday in June staying in a villa in Majorca. The rooms are small with 2 beds there's a small kitchen area and a bathroom, shower unit only with loo and sink of course. The view from the balcony is quite breath-taking looking over Lassi, Lixouri and Xi beach. The owners are very friendly and make you feel very welcome, they are also very helpful on places to go. They speak very good English. One point I must make is that Ventura Rooms is up a steep hill and to walk up the hill in the heat is very exhausting, its not for those who are unfit or have difficulty walking. I hired a car for the 2 weeks, quite cheap from CBR which is found literally down the hill on the left. All in all I had a wonderful 2 weeks there, I'm planning on going back next year.

I went to the Olive Press one night and had the Pepper steak. The steak was very poor and I did not enjoy this meal at all. I had to leave about an hour after the meal with a bad stomach, I won't go into detail about that. The service was not very friendly and they definitely took their time serving you. The restaurant is nicely done out and that inticed me in. I won't be going there again.
