Just returned from 2 weeks in the pelagos apartments.Found them very clean and less basic than usual for Greece.Although we did not use it the air conditioning was free despite saying otherwise in the brochure.Full bath with overhead shower which again is quite unusual. Also had a double bed which depending on your viewpoint is either a blessing or a hinderance.Quite a steep climb from the road to the apartment so not suitable for everyone. Our room was on the upper floor at the rear of the building and looked out on the mountains.Very enjoyable stay.
Have not used Thomas Cook before and only went with them because our other choices were not available. However if this was the norm then I would not hesitate to use them again. We stayed in Skala at the Pelagos Apartments which were more than up to standard. Our rep was Karen who was probably as good a rep as we have ever had.On one night we had a terrible storm and the building was struck by lightining thus causing a power failure.Karen came out twice during the storm to check on everyone and to keep us informed of the situation.Every aspect of the holiday was handled well.Maybe we just lucky.
Visited Arkontiko only the once, not because we didnt like it but because there are too many restaurants in Skala to stick to just one or two.Had the Kefalonian Meat Pie and Chicken a la Creme, both very nice.Nice location on a balcony looking out over the sea.Quite busy despite being October and the service whilst generally good was a little slow after your main course. Not as intimate as other Restaurants.Overall would recommend it.
Visited Flamingo for both breakfast and evening meal.Breakfast whilst good is not on the same par with The Pines. Our evening meal was served within 10 minutes of ordering which I always think is far too quick especially for chicken.Despite this it tasted fine.My wife had the spaghetti carbonara which was delicious. The house wine was more than adequate especially at the prices they charge. However after our main course we were made to feel as if we in the way because the restaurant was getting busy, despite us still drinking our wine.A little bit disappointed after all the good comments we had read.
