Just got back yesterday (boohoo)
To answer the questions below, the Aeolos is 1.7km from skala situated off the road from skala to Poros. However, when I say off the road, it is 100m away from the road, so there is no noise. The beach is the other side of the road.
Is it quiet, YES!!!!! Bliss!! Currently, there are no other apartments or hotels next to it. Noloud music. I went with my two kids aged 10 & 7 and my 10yr old daughter said it was the best holiday of her life.
If you want to sit on the beach and the nearest person 50-100yds away from you, then you're in luck.
The rooms and pool area are spotless.
To sum up, put it this way, I think it will be very difficult to book up next year based on what everyone else was saying whilst there, i.e they are coming back next year.
Where are the studios please, (near the beach about 1.7km from the centre) but are they towards Turtle Beach & Poros or are they towards Katelios & Lourdas. Is there much noise from traffic or loud music etc at night please. Thankyou.
Please could anyone tell me if the Aeolos Beach are noisy at night:- traffic or loud music etc after 11pm. Thankyou.
I think this is the best hotel in Skala!! Everything about it is fab!! The staff are lovely and really welcoming!! George the barman is lovely and makes great cocktails!! The rooms are really big, modern and clean and so is the bathroom!! The pool area is very clean and there are lots of sunbeds to lay on and enjoy the view!! The food is very tasty!! i think it should be a five star hotel and i want to go back next year!!
Thanks for all the previous comments made about this site. This is what helped me tto book it. We had a fabulous two weeks very clean and the owners are great fun. We had a great time hi to all the friends we made there including Angela and George

can you tell me availability and prices for skala aelos apartments in september 2004
Please send me availability from 6th july to 13th July 2004 and prices.
Can anyone tell me if all the rooms at Aeolos Beach Hotel have sea views?
I am interested in staying at the Aeolos Beach Studios in june2004 and would like more info on the and also to know if it is possible to book accommodation only?
My partner and I arrived back in England on Tuesday 14th October 2003 after having spent one week at the Aeolos Beach Studios. What an amazing place Kefalonia is. The Apartments couldn't be faulted, they were spacious, well kitted out and clean (they were cleaned every day except for a Sunday). Athos the Owner spoke reasonably good English and was very pleasant. This was our first trip to Kefalonia - it will not be our last, we hope to go back next year for two weeks and hopefully to the same apartments. This was the first holiday we've been on where the apartments have been so clean.
Met some brilliant people, everyone so friendly. It is not a holiday for young people (ie teenagers) as there is nothing much to do. If you enjoy walking then this is a must. If we go back next year we will definitely hire a car or bike to get round the Island. The nearest shops are about one and half miles away, which we didn't find a problem, especially of a night after a few beers - it took no time at all to get back to the apartments.
Brilliant place.
Fantastic place to stay, but get a car (from greekstones of course)
We stayed here for our honeymoon for two weeks beginning on 26th August 2003. It is top accomodation - the rooms are the best I have ever stayed in in Greece, we had a double bed and air conditioning - what more could you want!! The pool area is very nice and overlooks the sea. There isn't alot of choice for food/drink served in the pool bar but it is certainly adequate for a lunchtime snack. The walk into town takes approx. 10 mins and is very nice, early evening. However, if you are walking back late on don't forget a torch - this is a must, taxis are only 4 euros though. To get to a decent part of beach you have to do a good 5-10 mins walk, however if its a dead safe beach you are after then travel a little further past the town to Kamina beach which is much better for snorkelling etc. The apartments have a restaurant too, also called Aeolos which is a must - try Aeolos Chicken, its served with the best mash you've ever tasted.
One word of warning (but only a tiny one!!), they are building quite a few more apartments at the moment which I think are going to be half board, so if they don't build another pool the current one will get quite busy. Overall fantastic apartments and lovely resort couldn't have asked for anything better!! Book now people!!
Has anybody any photos of the sea area opposite please?
Can someone tell me about the beach opposite these apartments please?
I'm hoping it's a small rocky inlet for snorkelling as we don't like big sandy beaches. How far is it? Is it easy to access etc? From the apartments or after a walk across a road etc?
Thankyou.
It in now in the Thompson Greece brochure page 49.
Stayed at aeolos appartmnets last August 2003 had fantastic time. Best holiday yet and the most relaxing. But can anyone tell me how to book for next year, the travel agents have no details for this accomodation. It was with Airtours last year. Help! We would really love to return.
I am interested in staying at the Aeolos Beach Studios in September 2003 and would like more info on the and also to know if it is possible to book accommodation only?
We book via Airtours, had no problems with them but the airport staff !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well it is Greece! :-)
This was a great holiday site. There are 13 rooms all new in 2000. There will be another 15 rooms next year. Staff are great and speak very good english.
As others have said it is about 15 mins walk into town but suggest a taxi back at night as no street lights - cost 4 euro.
We stayed 14 nights and found it great, suggest you call into Pines Too for a meal or two and listen to Nikos playing the piano while you eat and relax. Returned to UK 2nd July and back to work!!! We would return anytime.
Please can anybody let me know operators or contact details so I can book it and go !!
We just returned from a weeks holiday in Skala - had a wonderful time and were very impressed with the Aeolos studios.
The rooms are basic but modern and very clean. All rooms have air conditioning and safety deposit box (paid extra for these but worth it). The kitchen had 2 electic rings, a fridge and kettle and enough pots/pans etc. Every room also has a balcony or patio - lovely to sit out in an evening.
The pool area was fantastic - great views of the mountians and beach - always a free sun lounger when we were there and also pool bar for drinks and snacks etc. The pool was great place to relax when the beach got too hot!
The Aeolos studios are a few mins walk down a small hill to the shingle beach and about 15mins walk into Skala and the nearest supermarket, but this makes it feel much more peaceful, set apart from most of the Skala accommodation. The only down side is that at night walking back from the restaurants can be a bit dodgy- very dark and no pavement, but fairly easy to get taxis.
We really enjoyed our stay and would love to go again!
could someone tell me who who is the tour operator for these apartments? thanks
We've just returned from the Aeolos Beach Studios after a 1-week vacation, (6-13th May, 2003). It would be very hard to find a nicer place to stay in Skala and helped us enjoy our most relaxing short holiday ever.
They are excellent - exceptionally clean, modern, well designed and comfortable apartments, most of which have balconies or patios with beautiful coastal views and there is a good-sized private swimming pool/sun patio.
There is also a small poolside bar where you can get drinks and snacks through the day (and probably into the evening during the busier times of they year). The gardens looked beautiful when we were there, with dozens of rose bushes and other shrubs in full bloom.
The family-run business has friendly, helpful and efficient staff who work hard to keep the place spotlessly clean at all times.
The small complex is situated almost on the beach, about 1.5 kilometres (1.1 miles) east of the Skala centre along the sea front and it's very relaxed and peaceful. Don't be put off by the distance from the town as it's a comfortable flat walk for almost the whole distance, but the final 150 metres up from the main road is fairly steep-about a 25% incline for about 30 metres of it. (It's not a problem if you take it slowly)
However, there are plenty of taxis available (despite some travel guides stating that there is only one taxi in Skala) and although the price has gone up - 4 euros - anyone with walking difficulties (or just feeling lazy)can get into town and back whenever they wanted to.
We walked it in both directions at least twice a day so it helped us from putting too much weight on during our holiday! The views are so good you'll hardly notice the journey.
This year they also have a very good restaurant, situated about 300 metres along the sea front from Skala centre (The Aeolos Restaurant, in front of the 9-Muses hotel). The food and service there was very good and it is well worth a visit. Their grand Breakfasts will keep you going for most of the day!
We had a marvelous time and aim to return later in the year. There are so many places around the world to visit and we try to find somewhere different for each holiday, but we'll make an exception for Skala.
Thanks to Kris, Athos and their staff at the Aeolos Beach Studios and the Aeolos Restaurant for making our holiday so enjoyable.
Thanks also to all the other people we met in Skala and all around Kefalonia for being so pleasant, helpful and friendly to us.
P.S. We've not had time to have our holiday photos developed yet, but I will post some ASAP.
Can anyone send me details of this accomodation. In particular, which tour operator can you book it through.
We took our chances on a last minute cheap and cheerful (or so we thought) week in Skala. Throughout the week we kept expecting someone to tell us there had been a mistake and we had been placed in a 5* apartment in error. Superb apartments, wonderfully friendly staff, excellent location. You couldn't do better..
My friend Jennifer and I stayed at these apartmnents after booking just one week before our holiday. To say we fell on our feet is an understatement! We were met at the airport by the transfer rep who had recently retired out to Skala from the UK and he said we were in for a real treat. How right he was! The apartments were modern, clean and had a lovely bathroom (which is probably one of my main concerns when on holiday). The pool was stunning - we could not believe our luck - the beauty of the mountains to the right and the stunning views of the sea to the left. Our balcony faced the front of the building so we could see the sunrise. We have decided to have another holiday in Kefalonia (we thought this on day two). We would not hesitate to book up at the Aeolos studios again and would recommend the accomodation to anyone else.
Stayed there during September and could not fault it. Very clean, lovely swimming pool, great views, close enough to the village centre, lovely uncrowded beach. All in all, a great choice.
We just returned from Kefalonia today and stayed at the Aeolos Beach Studios. SUPERB. Clean as a whistle and with amazing views. As you lay down by the pool(which was great) you have a view of the sea one way and a view of the mountains the other way. The walk to the town centre is only a chore if you are a lazy so and so, took us about 10-15 minutes. The brochure really doesnt do this place justice. The rooms are well decorated, we had wood beams in ours!! and the bathrooms come complete with shower screens(rare in Kefalonia I hear). Top place. We hope to return.
My family and I would say Aeolus Beach Studios are probably the best apartments we have ever stayed in. The view from the excellent pool area is fabulous, the spacious rooms spotlessly clean with A/C if you want it and the staff are friendly and helpfull. The only thing it has against it is the 15min walk to the nearest supermarket, but what the hey, a brisk walk is good for you so try Aeolus out, Angela will make you more than welcome.
We stayed Sept 02. Very clean apartment. 13 flats and lovely pool. Our balcony faced the sea and countryside. Very well designed accomodation. 15 min slow walk to resort along the beach therefore very quiet. Bar open during afternoon. Would recommend to all but not those with young children.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Aeolos Beach Studios in May 2001. The complex had only been open for a few weeks, but we were well impressed with both the cleanliness and service we received. We are looking forward to staying there again this year.
The apartments were very nice and the pool excellent. However we were disappointed to be informed, in a less than friendly manner, that we weren't allowed to use it to cool the room as we pleased.
Can you send details of the accomodation
