IL Gabbiano

We loved it here - basic and honest - we all liked the Pasta
(Villiaka a real treat) and pizzas were popular with the sprogs
and in-laws.
The big fella who greets you is right outta Goodfellas (Martin
Scorcese - go check him out!!) - and the rest of the team (a very
helpful lad and a lass) and a 40 something couple don't do
uniforms but are very attentive and helpful - if a little vacant and
grumpy at first look!
Like I said, we loved it - freebies prevailed each night - the
brandy is ruff as **** but you do graduate to fruit shooters and
complimentary wine!
Give it a try - it's good value - you can watch the sun setting and
there is a fairly decent little playground for the kids. Nice
tablewear and a decent menu. Don't expect sea food - and by the
way - the rabbit is to be ordered 24 hours in advance!Kieran

Went there the once last week, food was not that good.

I had grilled chicked which was tasteless, wife and kids had pizza which was very greasy (they did not finish it due to this).

Better restaurants elsewhere in Lassi or down the road in Argostoli.

This was the first restaurant we tried after our welcome meeting on our first night, but we certainly did not feel welcome here. The food was very nice, even though we just had a pizza and fries, it was delicious. However, the man standing on the door did not even break a smile as we entered, and the waiters constantly paced up and down past us, which did put us on edge as they were not smiling or friendly at all. This was a shame as the food was nice and I would have loved to sample some of the pasta dishes,but it put us off going again, there were plenty more welcoming restaurants to try.

The Manager was very helpful in finding the exact meal we wanted. I enjoyed the meal and we ate there twice and visited the bar on various occasions. I would definatly reccomend it to people looking for a nice family place to sit and eat in nice ambience.

SORRY TO SAY THAT THIS WAS THE WORST MEAL THAT WE HAD WHILST IN KEFALONIA. ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND BOTH ORDERED PIZZAS AND MANAGED 3 SLICES EACH- INSTEAD OF MOZARELLA THEY USED CHEDDAR WHICH MADE THE PIZZA EXTREMELY GREASY. WE NOTICED EVERYONE WAS TAKING AWAY THEIR FOOD IN BAGS SO WE DID THE SAME AND DUMPED IT IN THE NEAREST BIN- MAYBE EVERYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME IDEA. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND IT!!

Food was the worst we had in 2 weeks, Moussaka still frozen. Service was disgusting and the Manager obnoxious. Would not recommend anyone waste a vauable evening here.

Went here for a break from greek food, and really enjoyed it.
Very nice pizza and spaghetti dishes and prices in line with other taverna's around.

GREAT PASTA, GREAT AMBIENCE LOVED IT

we never usually go to the same resturant twice on holiday but visited El Gabbiano 5 times,the food was a winner,try the spaghetti villiaka-very spicy,the pizzas were all freshly made,the staff were friendly,prices were reasonable,definately worth trying,the ajoining bar is good and the cocktails are the best we had in lassi

Just been back to kefallonia June for two weeks- prior to my last posting I must say the place has gone downhill!! The Staff were grumpy and unwelcoming and the food was not as good as last year, I must admit I was really dissapointed.

This had to be one of my favourite restraunts, the atmosphere was really friendly and the staff was very good also! I had the spaghetti Bolagnase and it was divine but best of all was the starters Chicken salad and Tzaki!

Thank goodness we found El Gabbiano! Pizza and pasta was fantastic. Best food on island. Service was excellent and the staff all made you feel very welcome. Free brandy was a bonus, especially after various other drinks. Not too expensive. Excellent value. Also do children's meals.

This was the best restaurant we found in Lassi. Le Gondola was anything but genuine Italian - if thats what you're after then give El Gabbiano a go. Free brandy was also a bonus!

This was a great restaurant, friendly and reasonably priced. A good pizza made here as well as their traditional foods which were of a high standard. Good finishing touch by giving you a free shot when you paid your bill!!

Best for Italian food in Lassi.

We found El Gabbiano cheap and friendly and the food was ok. They even threw in a couple of free brandys

We didnt think much of the food but the bar is great! The bar tender is really funny and prices are cheap. However, the waitress who serves the drinks to the tables is wierd. If you go there you will soon see why! However she was nice!
