Makris Gialos Beach

Cant understand why anyone would like this. I expect that the pretty sandy beach would be lovely if it wasn't approx 6 rows deep from the sea to the restaurant/bar in sunbeds and umbrellas. It is appalling! I've lived and worked all over Greece and other places in the world and have never come across such a dreadful thing. That the local council has allowed a natural asset such as a pretty beach to be taken over by the bar/restaurant in this way is beyond me - must be some back-handers somewhere! Lying on a beach should be a peaceful, pleasant experience. Obviously it is aimed at Brits and lots of them love it - someone told me that the restaurant there does a lovely sausage sandwich! That sums it up! What a shame

JUST COME BACK FROM KEFALONIA STAYED IN SKALA

THIS BEACH IS SUPERB. BEEN GOIN TO KEF SINCE 1995. THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED IS THE LARGER BEACH BAR WHICH IS A GREAT IMPROVEMENT. THE WATER IS BLUE AS BLUE AND VERY CLEAN. SAND IS NICE AND FINE. BEACH SHELVES GENTLY INTO SEA SO IDEAL FOR FAMILIES WITH KIDS.  YOU CAN WATCH AIRCRAFT APPROACH THE RUNWAY WHICH YOU CAN SEE FROM THE BEACH BUT THEY ARE FAR AND FEW BETWEEN AND NOT NOISY. IT,S HARD TO BEAT THIS BEACH.

Best beach ever!!! Ive been to Cancun and the beach there wasnt even as nice as this one. Good music, lovely sea, lovely food done by my good friend Piro.

Don't believe the hype there are more fag ends than grains of sand here.Yes the water is perfect but the beach is crowded and narrow if you go further along the coast to the east there a much nicer ones

The beach was great there is plenty of things to do such as go on water sports

The best thing was there were plenty of good looking women

The beach was fab the guy who hired the sunbeds was lovely, He covered myself and boyf when we were hungover and getting burnt ! He also knew the best secluded beaches and gave ace directions. Only negative the beach can be quite breezy amd you don't realise how much sun your getting

Makris is the best in hole Keffis, i have been there 2 a year, for 15 years. and i love it there. its the best. and the beach is so clean and not overcrowded, and the boy hwo takes money for the sunbeds is verry nice I just love it. the best place in the whole world

best beach in lassi !!! bin to kef 4 times and have always gone to that beach!!! and the people in the bar hut  fingy are so nice spesh pirro he always makes you laugh no matter what!!! water so nicccee sun beds are cheap and there everything you need on a beach sun sand sea  il b back gen pirro and dont forget to try the water sports they so fun never laughed so much on them rings go to the 1 on the beach next to makris yialos looks safer and people there so nice i couldnt believe i hadnt been on the rings before   

We loved the beaches around Lassi, although we spent most of our time on the White Rocks hotel private beach, because makris yialos was too full!!!! IT WAS GREAT! (but a little tip if you're swimming in the sea around the white rocks private beach, be careful near the rocks a little way out to sea, as they have an odd seaweedtype plant on them, and I had an allergic reaction to it, and now have 2 large red rashes on my skin!!!!See that little white patch on the photo on the left, in the sea, just to the right of that little island thing? That's where that seaweed rocks were! Take care!)

Spent two very happy weeks sat on Makris Yialos beach and I thought the sunbed girls were very nice.

This is a messgae for Nic Sheilds & Sandra Cullinane. I have just recently returned from Kefalonia and I did not see any jelly fish at Makris Yialos Beach the only place we saw them was at XI Beach. But all I can say is just be more wary just in case.

We have just arrived from Lassi and we didn't see any jellyfishes in the the area near Lassi. Only the crowd on the Makris Gialos and Platis Gialos was terrible. Regards

We are coming back to Lassi in August this year. We love the beach at Makros Yialos but we have been told that there is a problem with jellyfish at this and other beaches in Kefalonia at the moment. Is this true? are some beaches more badly effected than others?

my partner and i first came to kefalonia in june 2004 with our two boys aged four and two ,i was stunned when i saw lassi long beach it was so clean the soft white sand and the clear blue water ,we loved it in kefalonia so much that we are returning this june .I would definatley recommend coming to this precious island if you want peace and tranquility .

first visited lassi in 1996.makris yialos was the nicest beach i had seen in greece..been back a few times since..still a nice beach but too many people now!  best time to visit is about 7>00am...paradise

This beach is fantastic it is such a pretty beach and the sea is so clear. U cant beat it ive been to alot of the greek islands also and this beach is the best in greece thats why we come back every year for the beach and our friends.

We stayed in the Silo Apartments, they were lovely. Very high standard of accomodation.... for Greece. Almost too nice!! about 10minute walk to Makris Yialos Beach, about 15 mins to main road of Lassi... I found them a little bit out in the sticks but I would stay there again.
