Pretty port and well worth a visit. Stopped there en route to spend day on Anti-Sami beach. Incredible view looking down at beach but beach is pebbly and has been taken over by 2 bars who give free sunbeds if you buy from their bar. They come up to you frequently asking if you want drinks or food, and play loud annoying music all day. They have spoilt a peaceful natural stunning area of beauty, as its now mostly covered in row after row of sunbeds and umbrellas. If you dont want shade or bring your own umbrella you can still go up the beach to a part not 'taken over' by the beds/music/bars
Cant understand why anyone would like this. I expect that the pretty sandy beach would be lovely if it wasn't approx 6 rows deep from the sea to the restaurant/bar in sunbeds and umbrellas. It is appalling! I've lived and worked all over Greece and other places in the world and have never come across such a dreadful thing. That the local council has allowed a natural asset such as a pretty beach to be taken over by the bar/restaurant in this way is beyond me - must be some back-handers somewhere! Lying on a beach should be a peaceful, pleasant experience. Obviously it is aimed at Brits and lots of them love it - someone told me that the restaurant there does a lovely sausage sandwich! That sums it up! What a shame
Just back from 10 days here - with a friend who had been before. It is just lovely! So clean throughout, amazing pool, spotless. It is a little out of the way but a good base for exploring the island as it is about 20 mins to Argostoli and to Skala . We hired a car which is a good idea, but you could while away your days at the pool and eat the hotel's lovely food - or there is a tiny sandy beach 10 mins walk away with a taverna, bar and snack bar. The owner Dimitris is a typical Greek man, proud and friendly and keeps his hotel running very well. Addi on reception is lovely and full of local knowledge and Eva, who is part of the family, waits and tends bar and is super nice. The hotel has stunning views, air-conditioned rooms and safes in rooms. I will be back there in Sept I hope! I thoroughly recommend it.
Lovely food and good service - ate at the one on the harbour. Also frequented by locals so a good sign.
Really good food - had a big selection of Mezes and all were lovely. Great friendly service. Wonderful views over the terrace. Was always very busy when we went past.A lovely cat to feed and stroke too
Had a delicious meal here. I'm vegetarian and the chef makes everything fresh so they were happy to do something at my request a bit different than the menu. Went back twice.! Lovely views and great service. Some lovely little cats to feed and stroke too!
