Lassi Resort

Resorts in Kefalonia

Hi I've been to Lassi many times and adore it.  Have stayed in many hotels and apartments and last year stayed ast the Irilena which is on a main road but a lovely small, clean, friendly modern hotel.  It was quite pricey for the single room but why don't you have a look at some of the apartments - there are many lovely ones and you will probably want to eat out when you get there anyway + many seem more spacious.  I particularly like the Thekla apartments which are very convenient and clean/modern.  Sadly I can't go this year but I am still there in my head and hope to go back soon.

Just a little help needed please! We have wanted to go to lassi for several years now and had never made it. This year is no exception. Our problem lies with the fact that we can only book quite late and we need two studios for a total of three people. We usually go to hotels, but White Rocks do not cater for single travellers. The price is extortionate! Thomas Cook told us of the Liberatos studios and they looked good but were up a hill. Again being up a hill is a problem for us! For next year I had the idea that we would be fine up a hill if we hired a car and drove down the hill, parked up and drove back again! That would depend on whether there were car parks or not. It sounds extreme but it would give us access to beaches all over the island too and we usually do hire a car for a few days anyway. I would welcome any comments from people who have a working knowledge of lassi.Thank you in anticipation.

We went as a Family of 4 (Children 6 and 3) to Lassi 19th to 28th August 2012 and stayed at the San Lorenzo Village in Lassi.

Having booked a package holiday for the first time as a family, we hoped for the best with our choice of resort and accomodation......... The "hotel lottery" worked our fantastically for us and we had the best holiday we could have wished for!

San Lorenzo Village is very pleasant, great views, great rooms, great pool and great service.

The resort has a good mix of people, no same sex groups, as the island is geared towards families and couples.

We ate out every night and the food was fantastic everywhere we went and very reasonable (Make sure you try Phedra restaurant as we ate there a few times and the service and the food were excellent). All the restaurants cater well for children and adults alike and are reasonable in price.

The beaches and the sea are clean although they do get busy in the afternoon and weekends.

Hire a car to see some more of the island, it was reasonable and its fun to drive on the island!

The holiday was so good, we have re-booked for 2 weeks in August in 2013. Can't wait to go back for another 2 weeks in Kefalonia!

I have just returned from a lovely weeks holiday in Lassi.  I also stayed in Lassi in 2009 at the Lorenzon Hotel but this time chose to stay at the Sea View studios.  It was like a little village of bungalows set in beautiful gardens, very well placed for both the main street with restaurants and bars and the beautiful beach with the clearest sea I have ever seen.  The studios were immaculate and the bathroom had a proper shower cubicle with a good powerful shower.  Just at the back of the studios on the road to the beach there were lots of cats and in particular 3 beautiful little kittens,  we had the pleasure of feeding this little bunch every morning and evening!

Relaxed resort, mainly for couples.

Plenty of restaurants and bars. I was there for 1 week and did not get round to trying them all.

Most bars were open til 2-3am, but weren't loud or rowdy

There was no or very little hassling from people outside restaurants, which i almost missed.

One recommendation is to take plenty of suncream, because the supermarkets overcharge for these, shop around if you do need to buy some as the prices varied enormously, but found the Lassi supermarket to be the cheapest, 10.50 euros for factor 8 (which was 20 euros in other supermarkets)

Beaches are very nice, all sand and clear waters.
Main road through Lassi was not overly busy, and for people staying up the hill ( i was at Nikos), it took us 8 mins to walk down to the main road and 10-12 mins back up.

Just returned home from Lassi, staying at Princess Hotel which was just off the main road, but not so far up the hillsides as some of the apartments we spotted.

I say main road, at this time of year it was like a country village, is you saw 5 cars at a time, it was rush hour, but can imagine it gets busier later in the year

Buses were not running yet, but 5 euro (£3.45) taxi fare into Argostoli isn't bad  going

Good range of restaurants and tourist shops and pleased to say not as commercialised as expected (comapring it to Argassi in Zante), although no pharmacy, clothes shops etc, but these can be found in Argostoli.

Many restaurants were only beginning to open up as we got into our second week, and saw no late night bars open, but go to Aqua Marina near Medditeranee hotel for cocktails - very reasonable at about 6 euros a time.

Lassi is a beautiful resort with a good choice of restaurants (and I would especially recommend Nefeli's Restaurant for a wornderful choice, excellant friendly service and good prices).  The beaches are lovely.  You should hire a car to see Kefalonia properly - if you've got a good head for heights! We used CBR for our car hire. Brilliant service, contracts in English and it does exactly what it says on the tin. Nice cars, no hidden extras.  They also arranged our excursions.  Good prices and good service.

Be careful when booking as some of the villas are a long walk from the main road and beach and up very steep, bending roads - especially dangerous and difficult if you're taking the kids. We stayed at the Liberatos Village and this I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND (see comments on Liberatos board).
It costs 5 eros to take a taxi to Agostoli or there is a bus in the holiday season.  There are cash machines and CBR or other agents will exchange money for you at a reasonable rate.

We stayed in Lassi for a week in mid October. Luckily the weather was mostly fine.  Lassi itself as a base is fine, but I'm glad we hired a car to get about the island. The reosrt has several sandy beaches and the water was nice even at this time of year. There are plenty of restaurants and several supermarkets. I expect it gets busy in high season but it was quiet when we went, ideal for a relaxing autumn break. Argostoli is not far, we walked there in less than half an hour, and the taxi back was only 5 euros.

Me and my girlfriend (23 & 21) have just came back from a week in Lassi (13th - 20th Aug) and we loved every minute of it! Lassi has a relatively busy main road but if you get an apartment just off it, it isn't a problem (and handy for flagging taxis!). We stayed up the hill at the Nikos studios which meant it was quiet and we had fantastic views. The nightlife is quite lively, but laid back (no binge drinking and no big same-sex groups out to get wasted!). None of the bar and restaurant staff hassle you to come in to their place (which bugged the life out of me when I was in Crete and Zante!) and you can stroll the main street at your leisure. There is more than enough bars, tavernas and restaurants so that you will not get through them all in one night, and maybe not the week. And there are loads you will just have to go back to (EastWest!). Also Argostoli is a 20 minute walk away, or a 5 minute, 5euro taxi ride away. We went one night to the main square there and the place is buzzing after 10 o clock, full of the locals with their children mixed with the tourists which creates such an amazing atmoshpere, you'd have to witness it to understand what I mean!

The beaches around Lassi are also good, but tend to get quite busy after around 1pm. We prefered to visit different ones around the island, such as Myrtos (the most picturesque beach on the Island - about a half an hour drive/ taxi ride away, but well worth it) and Avithos beach. Get a taxi! Only 10 euros and takes 15mins. Parking is awkward so I wouldn't take a car. But it is a very peaceful beach with good water for swimming and a small taverna and restaurant on the beach front.

Me and my GF (34yr & 25yr) have just returned from a 1 week holiday in Lassi (23rd-30th July) and we loved it. Some folk have said that Lassi is too commercial etc... but we didn't find that. There are in excess of 15-20 restaurants and of the 8 or so we tried we didn't have a bad meal.

Regarding bars there are over 15 in the resort and a majority of these are great pubs which all have nice gardens/sea views where you can sit and chill out.

For the dancers there is club which is open until 3am or 4am, but don't worry about any noise as it's all sound proofed.

If your a sun lover than you'd be in your element as within a 5-10 minute walk from the centre there are over half a dozen beaches and coves to visit.

As mentioned in earlier messages, Argostoli is only a 25 min walk and there you will find a whole host of restarants and bars, which are especially good around the main square. Also in Agostoli is the Lithostrato which is the main street for all your shopping.

Overall I would say that Lassi is an excellent all round resort for both families and couples of any age.

LASSI IS A GREAT RESORT AS IT HAS EVERYTHING YOU COULD POSSIBLY NEED FOR A HOLIDAY. LOTS OF SHOPS AND RESAURANTS AND A FEW BARS. ALSO SHORT DRIVE , TAXI RIDE OR WALK AWAY FROM ARGOSTOLI. GREAT BEACHES AND VIEWS. VERY FRIENDLY KEFALONIANS.

Darren M

LASSI IS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY WITH 2 FANTASYIC BEACHES, GREAT RESTAURANTS AND NOT TO FAR FROM AGOSTALI THE ISLANDS CAPITAL. BUT PLEASE IF YOU GO TO KEFALONIA HIRE A CAR EVEN FOR A FEW DAYS AND ENJOY THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF THE ISLAND. HAPPY HOLIDAYS. YAMASS

I've been here twice and would recommend this resort to anyone. There are plenty of lovely beaches to choose from, especially Kalamia beach and great choice of restaurants. Although Lassi is considered the busiest resort on Kefalonia don't let that fool you. It has a lovely atmosphere and you won't find any 'lager louts' here. It is just a short walk over the hill into the capital Argostoli where you will find plenty of high quality shops and restaurants and a lovely cosmopolitan atmosphere, particularly around the main square. The Island tour is well worth the trip.

Lassi is a great little place. Two main beaches when you first enter and a few smaller quieter beaches further up by the dolphin supermarket which were very nice. It has a good selection of restaurants, Ionio, Phaedra and Nefeli were our favourites but there was also chinese, italian and fish restaurants. Quite a few supermarkets, car hire places and bars. Trentis bar and Eden are great. Would definitely come back to Lassi.

John H

meant to mention on previous posting that if you self catering-use the lassi supermarket with the Australian brother and sister very friendly and helpful-she really is barking mad(in a nice way)

Just came back this morning from Lassi had a wonderful time-just relaxing on the beautful long beach, lazy lunches, plenty of ale, lovely evenings-this place is heaven for couples, older groups, I would think twice before i took teenagers as there is much for them to do in the evenings-anyone with walking difficulties will struggle too-The temperature was up to 35º.

To Ann ref accommodation.

There are a lot of apartments hotels in this area. We would recommend Makris Yialos Apartments (see our comments) as we have just visited. They are booked via First Choice and good value for money and are only 10 minutes maximum walk from the White Rock Hotel. The biggest hotel is the Hotel Mediterranee with over 250 rooms and is right on the beach. Again 10 minutes from the White Rock Hotel.Several tour operators are in this hotel, including First Choice. Beautiful area - the best on the island!!

Ann M

We have some friends getting married next year - They are staying at the White Rock Hotel, please could you advise any other hotels / apartments close by for other people attending the wedding to stay at. Many thanks

I thought that lassi was a beautiful place although taxi service was strange having to haggle that price, with being tourists they always up the price. The bars are beautifully presented and sitting having a cocktail is bliss!! Beaches were nice with clear seas.

Karen

we love lassi! that might explain why we keep going back. we have been there 6 times in 2 years! we stay at simatos apartments, which are lovely! i highly recommend them! The night life is okie, i recommend argostoli more, for the better night clubs and bars but as i say lassi is okie, for a quite drink and dance. Big supermarkets which sell everything, along the main lassi road! and also places to change money up. makris yalios beach, is super! we love it! lovely clear water, and golden sand! i would highly recommend Malibu swimming pool aswell! LOVELY food, Lovely pool and lovely staff! lassi defently the best! hopefully i will be back there next month!
