The portions are massive! And the fried courgettes (pumpkin, as they call it), are yummy. You also get a free glass of mataxa at the end of your meal. We went there twice as we enjoyed it so much
This was one of the highlights of the holiday1 The water is amazing and it is such a quiet out of the way beach, that if you just want some peace, then this is the place. A steep drive to the top of the hill, but the view is worth it!
We didn't actually use the beach, but we drove down, and view is amazing. It looks like something from paradise!
We arrived the last 2 days in September. Weather wise, it was slightly cooler on a couple of days, and maybe earlier in the year would have been better for that, but we were told that the weather has been quite bad this year anyway1 It was a lot quieter than obviously peak time, but that was what we wanted, and it wasn't dead anyway.
We loved Assos, not a great deal to do though. We didn't go up to the castle (i just wanted a beer!), but the town is really picturesque and worth a look (and drink) at.
It was really interesting and fascinating, but if i'm totally honest not amazing. This and the lake, particularly this, took very little time and so we were finished really quickly.
We loved Fiskardo. Very beautiful and relaxing. Nice just sitting and watching the boats and the locals go about their business. A 'must' to go and see.
We enjoyed this more than the caves, but both are a must. Beautiful lake and very tranquil. The colour of the water is amazing. The boat men are a bit crazy, singing and yelling to each other in greek! They may pressure you for a tip, and they aren't subtle!
We wre pleasently suprisedf as we had been given a big one! Sorry to all those who didn't! The apartments were basic, but clean and modern. Each comes with their own balcony area. And depending on which side of the building your on, then you may face the sea, which is beautiful, especially at sunset. The pool area is lovely, plenty of sun loungers, and a bar serving all drinks and snacks, the pool also over looks the bay. The walk is quite steep, but it helps to walk off the food and alcohol, although if legless-get a taxi!
Really enjoyed this day out. The captain is amusing. The food they serve is yummy, greek salad and bbq (you have to help make), and lots of wine. They set up beach volley or you could just lie and soak up the sun. The mud mask was brill as well , i sware my skin has never felt so smooth! Only small complaint would be, that they offer no free drinks when your aboard (there is a bar to pay for ones though), which i felt was a shame as you pay 54 euros, and you'd kind of expect a welcoming drink or just a glass of water. There is not a great deal to see from the glass bottomed bit either. We saw dolphins though, and that was amazing.
