Very busy. REMEMBER THAT SIESTA IS FROM 1PM UNTIL ABOUT 5PM & THAT THE SHOPS DO NOT OPEN ON A WEDNESDAY EVE. Excellent shops. The bars and restaurants are a bit for the 'posers' and not very family orientated.

Listen, bugger all these fancy places. The best place (not to mention the cheapest) to chill out with a beer has to be Stavros's "bar". If you can get to the glass bottom boat tour, turn around and you'll see a man sitting amongst 25 or so lawnchairs, with one fridge in the room behind him. He's the coolest guy in Argostoli, and when the girls went shopping, my friend and I stayed and enjoyed the step back from life. (now THAT was poetic!)

there is a road that crosses the harbour in argostoli and it's got to be the best place to see the turtles, as my wife and i found out when we were on our honeymoon,Its best to visit just before dusk as the turtles tend to swim under the arch's of the road,There is also a monument halfway across the bridge but the road is a bit narrow so be careful when walking at night.

Coastal road beautiful - water so clear you can see the fish. Roads are a bit confusing though, one-way systems and junctions with no signs or road markings! Worth visiting.

Not what we expected. Really a very nice place for a day out or to use as a base from where to explore the island. Great pedestrian shopping street with bars in which to relax and watch the world go by.

Really lovely place - one of best meals i had. It is quite expensive so you wouldnt want to eat in the square all holiday but def worth treating yourself!! Try the polo cafe-really comfy seats and we recommend the vegetable ravioli-gorgeous meal and brownies and ice cream desert which is sensational!! Lots of shops-the place to go for gifts to take home x x

best seen at night especially the main square which comes to life after 9.30. Good places to eat and to suit all pockets. Probably wouldn't actually stay there but well worth the visit.

This is a vibrant village which is the capital of the island. I would not like to be based here for my entire holiday but it is a fantastic place to visit especially in the evening when the square comes to life with both tourists and locals. There is a fantastic atmosphere with Greek music playing , the tavernas and bars all lit up and the shops and street traders vying for trade.
