Joint 2nd in our eat outs, service was very good, food was very good, and prices were'nt bad too!!
BEST PLACE TO EAT IN SKALA,YOU ARE NEVER RUSHED AND THE STAFF REALLY FRIENDLY,GREAT SEA VIEWS.BEEF IN A CERAMIC POT IS VERY NICE.JUST WATCH OUT FOR THE WASPS.
The food here was ok but my daughter did not like the bits of plastic she found in her kleftico
The food, setting and friendliness of the staff meant we went to this restaurant the most. We did stay at the Paspalis so just could not pass it. The seafood spaghetti, beef stamnas and lamb kleftico were all superb.
This was definitely our favourite restaurant in Skala. The food was delicious especially the salads and the staff always attentive and helpful even though they were busy all the time. We kept returning to Paspalis after trying other places and found the prices reasonable, would really recommend it.
i was at paspalis in may nikos the cook is good the food excellent presentation fab
We only ate here for lunch but i enjoyed the food. My husband ordered chips and only got about three! I however ordered the sardines which were the best i have ever tasted and stronly recommend them!
We have just got back from Kefalonia and this year after reading the reviews on here we decided to try the Paspalis hotel for an evening meal a couple of times and it was delicious. I had the lamb in ceramic pot both times and my husband had the rabbit stifado and the silver bream and said they were also excellent. Nice spot overlooking the sea too and a great complimentary shot at the end of the meal. We also had a couple of lunches at the poolside bar here which were also very good.
I would like to know what the rate would be for booking accomodation directly at the Paspalis Hotel. We would aim to arrive last week of May and first week of June.
Also, how would you book the flights, I am unaware of any normal flights direct to Kefalonia.
Many Thanks
Paspalis Hotel: this is the second time we have been to the Paspalis, the first time was 10yrs ago.We got back on the 26th Sept. What can I say,the folks from Blackpool said it all.The new extensions to the Hotel are great, there was only one block ten yrs ago.Nikos is more charming he was quite shy all those yrs ago.The staff are brill the food was excellent, the weather was great, and the company was good the fortnight we were there. We will go again hopefully sooner than before.I forgot to mention the pool,Fab.

I underline everything the last person has commented on - everyone was so friendly and the food fantastic and what a view to eat by - absolutely brilliant and another free drink with your bill - usually a snapps.
Returned home yesterday, after spending the BEST 2 weeks holiday ever!!; The Paspalis is perfect, superb location(and we travelled all over the Island),The resort of Skala has everything you could hope for; The Paspalis has a reputation for good food, and rightly deserved - as it was superb, varied, very tasty and extremely reasonable.
The location is better than could have been expected, across the road from the beach, wonderful sea views, from pool,on balcony, and whilst eating; a very short, and pleasant walk to the high street, and 2 FREE outdoor 'Cinemas'(with bars!!), within 20 Seconds/ 2 mins walk away- showing all the latest releases.
The staff at the Paspalis rate the best we have found anywhere,a very personal and truly friendly touch, no falseness.
Our 'new mate' Ria, was an absolute 'Babe', so friendly and efficient, Thanks also to Hercules and 'Smiler' ('not Elvis'), and to our little Northern lass Claire, the only Brit working there, and in her first week, she was a breath of fresh air - Good luck kiddo xx
The owner Nikos, and all his family, really put in a lot of hours and energy to ensure you have a good holiday - and Nikos's wife has a FANTASTIC shop on the High Street, with the most amazing Jewellary!!
Kefalonia is absolutely breathtaking, so green and lush, with scenery too die for!!
We have never returned to one of our holiday destinations before - as the world is a big place - but it is all here.
We only hope that we will be lucky enough to get a booking at the Paspalis next year, and for many years to come; Who needs to look any further, when Skala and The Paspalis has it all!!!
Must just give a mention to our Thomas Cooke Rep, Ruth - she was a real 'mate' and an asset to our holiday, she was so friendly and informative of local features and full of 'tips' you normally don't get from the robots of Rep school.
This is the first time we have ever written a 'Review', but felt the The Paspalis, Skala, and Kefalonia more that deserved the time and effort - put it this way, we WILL be going back to Skala, and if we are not fortunate enough to gain booking with the Paspalis, we shall accept anywhere in Skala - and walk down to use the facilities, pool and food (open to non residents,as we discovered previous guests were doing),Thats how good the Paspalis is !!!
Thankyou Paspalis, I raise a glass of Ouzo to you tonight,Yamass, and say thanks for the rest, relaxation and care which you gave us the last two weeks - EFKARISTO (Thankyou),ISSTO EPANIDHIN (see you soon)

We have just returned from Skala and we found the Paspalis ended up as the restaurant we visited most. It has a lovely setting close to the beach and was never overcrowded as most people either walked past on the way in or didn't stray far from the main street in Skala. They don't know what they were missing. It was well frequented by Greeks and Italians! The service was very attentive and the food good and reasonably priced. The flaming Lamb Kleftiko is a must!
The Paspalis is a great Hotel, in an almost perfect location. We were there at the end of June - beginning of July 2004. It is not too far from the village, and the restaurant has a perfect position with views out over the sea, whereas all the village restaurants are on the main road, are crowded a lot of the time where you are rushed to leave your table. No such problems (when we were there) at the Paspalis. Prices are very good, generally lower cost meals than some in the village, 1kg. wine €5.50. All the choices are good, Pork Souvlaki is delicious (€6.50), Moussaka excellent (€5.50), salads and pasta gorgeous, I just wish I could have afforded the Lobster! Staff are friendly and very helpfull, Hercules went bonkers with the fireworks when Greece won the Euro cup, and the beautiful Rhea with the sprayed on trousers was great (perfect english). Highly recommended.
One of only a few restaurants in Skala with a sea view. A perfect setting, with plenty of tables, no hurry up from the staff, spend all night if you wish! Good menu, very reasonable prices, well cooked food of all sorts, is used a lot by Greek families on holiday and locals so it must be good! Staff (Hercules and Rhea) are superb, do remember to leave a generous tip.
We have stayed at Paspalis 3 times in the past 7 years and love it there, the setting is fantastic right on the beach the rooms have always been very clean and the staff are very friendly, the food is always very good especialy the greek salad, the only negative thing is the breakfast could be a little more choice. The owner Nikos is very friendly to .. once you get to know him. We are going to stay there again in June 2004 for the 4th time and are really looking forward to it, i would recommend the paspalis hotel and have done to friends and they loved it to.
The Paspalis is perfect.
The Paspalis cannot be faulted on cleanliness or comfort, the rooms were cleaned well and the linen changed daily, excellent! We stayed B and B, I must say the breakfast choices were poor,it was buffet style, toast cornflakes, madeira cake and french toast tea, cofee or orange juice and that was it for the week anything extra was charged as extra!,as in a normal English breakfast!!.There,s no doubt that Paspalis is a lovely hotel, but all the extra charges spoiled it they should have been mentioned in the advertising. The staff were very freindly, although the owner did,nt make much of an effort.
Definately not a good hotel to stay in if you have a toddler and decide that you wish to self cater in your room t lunch times. The owner Nikos watches you all the time and goes into your room to see what food and drink you have in the fridge. If you do not eat on a regular basis in hs taverna then watch out. This guy stings you for hidden extras when you are about to leave for England!
We stayed at the Paspalis and so had lunch there every day. Omlettes and salads always good and staff very frindly. In fact we liked the place, accommodation etc a lot and will go back there.
