Paspalis Hotel - (Accommodation in Skala)

The Paspalis is a great Hotel, in an almost perfect location. We were there at the end of June - beginning of July 2004. It is not too far from the village, but we only eat out once in 2 weeks, as the hotel restaurant has a perfect position with views out over the sea, whereas all the village restaurants are on the main road, are crowded a lot of the time where you are rushed to leave your table. No such problems (when we were there) at the Paspalis. Prices are very good, generally lower cost meals than some in the village, drinks average. The pool is very good, perhaps the only drawback being it is, like many others in the resort, open to non-residents and it probably gets quite crowded in the peak season. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday. Nikos is a good, friendly bloke, just remember he owns the place and is responsible for everything that goes on, that is why he keeps an eye on everything, but that is also why it is such a good hotel.

Paspalis Restaurant - (Restaurants in Skala)

One of only a few restaurants in Skala with a sea view. A perfect setting, with plenty of tables, no hurry up from the staff, spend all night if you wish! Good menu, very reasonable prices, well cooked food of all sorts, is used a lot by Greek families on holiday and locals so it must be good! Staff (Hercules and Rhea) are superb, do remember to leave a generous tip.

All the choices are good, Pork Souvlaki is delicious (€6.50), Moussaka excellent (€5.50), salads and pasta gorgeous, I just wish I could have afforded the Lobster! Staff are friendly and very helpfull, Hercules went bonkers with the fireworks when Greece won the Euro cup, and the beautiful Rhea with the sprayed on trousers was great (perfect english). Highly recommended.
