Apostolis Taverna

What can we say? 2 out of the 7/8 years we've been going we have ate at Apostolis. A fair way to walk but it is quiet, calm and tranquil. You often see locals flooding into the place, it is to locals as well as tourist a very popular taverna. You are welcomed as family and are in no rush to finish, there are specials also to be served if the other things are not to your taste. They are grilled but every bit delicious as anything else. Every night we've gone there (around 48 nights in total) we've never been disappointed. If you are in Skala it is near the Natalie apartments just past the children's play park. It's a not to miss place, if you just happen to be diverted that way, try it. You'll never eat anywhere else. It is such an achievement and a waiter and waitress sometimes isn't enough for some places. But there they get on like family and cope fine. Having a child, you'd think, might be hard getting them to eat grilled things or new things but there is a child's section too. It's worth the walk and sure enough it's great value, spectacular food and a service to stun many. We're looking forward to going back next year and enjoying the delicious food they serve. DON'T MISS IT, IT'S WORTH IT!

Words cannot describe how beautiful the place is. Going to that restaurant 2 years out of the 7/8 we've been going just shows how much we adore it. We have a 12 year old daughter and she enjoys the food as much as us. It is a fair walk from our apartments but it's worth is. Absolutely amazing service, you are welcomed with open arms, The most delicious food you've ever tasted and most of all a fair price so you can still have luxury wine aswell as a meal. Slouvaki, steak, chops, stuffed peppers whatever you tasted there is wonderful. All done on char grill/grill it is perfect. This is the best greek restaurant that i personally have ever visited. I am looking forward to going back next summer!

FANTASIC...IF THE LOCALS EAT HERE IT MUST BE GOOD. GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PEOPLE, GREAT FOOD WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR. SLIGHTLY OUT OF THE WAY BUT OF ALL THE RESTURANTS IN SCALA THIS IS THE ONE FOR ME.

A perfect authentic Greek taverna in a perfect Greek setting. The restaurant is on one of the back streets behind the kiosk and turn left. From the moment you go in,, you are welcomed with that charming and friendly Greek hospitality. Tollis and Chara provide a fantastic service with happy smiles. The food is mainly grill-souvlaki, chicken,pork and steak but every night they have a special.You can choose chips, potatoes or jackets potatoes with your meal, but will also get rice and chopped red cabbage in an amazing dressing. If you want to try traditional Greece, this restaurant is a must. There's no rushing to finish your meal to get the next 'conveyor belt'customer sat at your table unlike some of the restaurants on the main street and the atmosphere is so friendly and relaxed you could sit there all night. You may even learn a few Greek phrases. You'll also find that this restaurant is alot cheaper than others-average 18-23 euros for 2 course meal for 2 with wine. .We noticed there was also lots of locals eating there which is always a good sign.A perfect place in a perfect location.

A FANTASTIC RESTURANT FOR TRADITONAL GREEK FOOD MAINLY A GRILL TAVERNA BUT DO OFFER SOME GREAT SPECIAL MEALS A MUST IS THE KEFALONIA MEAT PIE AND MUSAKA. REALLY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING SERVICE, PRICES ARE REALLY GREAT. JACKET POTATOES OFFERED AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO CHIPS.

This restaurant is a little quieter than the other restaurants, but we think this is
because it's not on the main stretch. After trying out a few restaurants and not
being that impressed, we found the food and service there to be excellent.
They offered an alternative to chips - jacket potatoes. The soulaki dishes are
excellent. Another plus is that the restaurant is surrounded by jasmine plants
which let off a strong & pleasant fragrance.

This is a grill only taverna so choice is rather limited. Did enjoy the chicken souvlaki though and the service was excellent. Worth a visit for a quiet meal.

after the second day we arrived in kefalonia i was very disappointed as i didnt have any nice meals. until i came across apostles the food was excellent. the staff are very friendly. i can highly recomend the chicken and the steak. we will definately go here again

my,sister susan and i, had lamb in a clay pot , it was fantastic ,the price was amazing, we ate the twice although the 2nd time was not as good.

We decided we had to try this taverna after reading the excellent reviews on this site.I am a big fan of Greek salad and I ordered the chefs' special salad.The dish I received was the worst salad I have ever had in Greece.It was covered with 1/2 inch thick layer of thousand island dressing which made a pointless exercise of trying to taste the salad ingredients.One of our party of 4 was satisfied with the meal.Needless to say we did not pay a repeat visit.

We tried most of the establishments in Skala and this would rate among the best. It is away from the main street in an excellent quiet location and the food was on par with the more 'well-known' eating places. When we ate, we were not rushed but as it's reputation grows. I am sure it will become very popular.

This taverna is actually owned and managed by a guy who used to be a waiter at the Scandinavia. The service is superb, and the food fantastic.

Absolutely fantastic, friendly service, great food ( especially the steak ) and brilliant location away from the main drag.An absolute must for anyone in Skala.

Superb Taverna near the main street yet far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. Ate there 5 nights with different food every night. We weren't disappointed once. The food was outstanding, the service excellent and always a lovely welcome and a smile. DO NOT MISS IT WHILE IN SCALA!

There is great food and at great prices!! excellent service! waiter and waitress are really friendly!! very traditional atmosphere, well worth a visit!
