Samantha W (16 July 2009)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but we got back from Lourdas on Sunday and Patricias has definitely closed.

There is a new tapas style place open on the former site which is does pretty good food and is open all day.

Can you help,

we were due to go to Lourdas in September this year, as we have done for the last 13 years, when excel went bust 2 days before we were due to go!!.  We have always found Patricias to be our favourite eating place  as Patricia and Takis have always made us so welcome and the food is fabulous, try ordering the fresh Tipoura, the whole fish, its to die for.  But I see that she has not opened this summer, does anyone have any ideas, I know she talked of going to athens but also her mum was ill in September of 2007 so were are hoping all is well with her, any info would be appreciated, we cannot imagine Lourdas beach without Patricias.  Steve and Margaret

Does anyone have any info on Patritcia, i've heard she's not open this year. Don't know if it's to do with the new beach road developement or permanent.

If she is open i can't ecommend it enough just perfect.

we have visited lourdas now for the past 5 years and every year we are warmly welcomed by patricia and her staff.  there was a storm the first year we visited and patricia helped us through it by supplying us with metaxa!  she greeted us on our second visit by running out to see us when we walked past - it was lovely and ever since patricia and her staff have made our annual trip to kefalonia like a home from home.  patricia's mousaka is the best in the whole of greece and the kefalonia meat pie is to die for!  the chef is just brilliant and he his cooking is consistent and perfect!  peter and mikie, the waiters, are excellent and they remember us every year.  we return every year in july and we're looking forward to going this year in 7 weeks time!!  see you there......  margaret and mark clayton, workington, west c*mbria, england

We stayed in Lourdas during the last week of September so things were fairly quiet, but Patricias was the only restaurant that was consistently busy and for good reason.Nice "personal" service, good food, pleasant relaxed atmosphere and a few paces from the sea. Don't worry if the restaurant looks a bit like a "film set", you don't notice that in the evening ! Excellent.

Lesley S  (12 October 2006)

We liked Patritsias very much.  The food is good, lovely location on the beach, and extremely friendly and helpful service - free carafe of wine, even!  Restaurant itself perhaps a bit basic, but that only adds to the charm, and there are some delightful imaginative touches.  Will definitely eat here again.

Patricias is a first rate restaurant and would highly reccommend a visit. The service is fantastic (Klimatis take note) and we were treated like people, not numbers. The pastitsio and moussaka were both fantastic but I would advise sharing starters- they are huge. Loved this place and cant wait to go back next year.

Carole W  (12 July 2006)

Patricias is in a lovely position on the beach.  (The restaurant itself looks like it's in the process of being built, or demolished, and propped up from behind - you can really appreciate this when looking down from Lorraine's on the hill.  This isn't a criticism it adds to the charm.) They make lots of effort with different colour paint on the walls, cushions and little touches like candles and ribbons on the olive trees at the front of the restaurant etc.  The food itself was very good on every occasion.  The grilled prawns, grilled fish, were excellent. The staff are friendly and really do try.  Their only 'struggle' was making cappuccino - unless pushed to make the proper version with steamed milk, they sometimes opt for espresso with a huge pile of whipped cream.  However, if this is your preference then fine.  It's not particularly cheap but very good.  Would definitely go back.

An honest little place with reasonably priced and, on the whole, pretty good food, especially if you find yourself in need of a good breakfast after a little too much of the local wine the night before.  Its a great place to sit and watch the sea and people passing but I`m not sure that the constant background music, courtesy of Love FM, will be to everybody`s liking.  Having said that, the lads that work there are great.  Friendly, casual service but attentive and efficient.  It won`t be long before, as almost everywhere else, you`ll be getting a free beer or half litre of wine.  I would have liked to have eaten there more but there are so many places to try in seven days.

Vivien O  (18 October 2005)

Had our lunch 3 times here. Would have liked to try it at night but could not face the long walk up the hill back to our apartment.

Felt like Shirley Valentine eating lunch looking out to sea. Fab bread and dip, could not leave any before our main meal. Great fried corgettes and greek salad. Very friendly staff

David W  (08 October 2005)

We turned up at Lourdas by car and looked where to eat for lunch. " Traditional Greek food" seemed like a good idea. The simplest lunch was truly amazing. " Grilled Feta" ( and chips!)

The compulsory bread was toasted and drizzled with olive oil and served with a pot of Marie-rose  dip.
The Feta was topped with Onion and   Red pepper and the Olive oil dressing  had garlic. Even the half kilo of red wine was light and fruity  We will certainly go back. David and Carol Wright !5th. sept. 2005.

Although we didn't have what you would describe as a main meal here we found that, the staff were friendly, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We were already in love with the Klimatis when we tried Patricias at lunch time. I would though say that you will not be dissappointed with this establishment (I hope).

Sarah   (15 August 2005)

Patritcias was fantastic!  Like a lot of other people, once we tried it, we never went anywhere else.  Been home for just over a week now, but we are missing the free half litres of house wine we got every night, and the fantastic and friendly service.  The food was lovely and the bill was remarkably cheap.  This is the BEST place to eat in Lourdas - no question!  If you are going there, you must try it... you may be tempted by some of the more leafy and attractive looking places, but believe me, this is the best and most welcoming of the lot - we tried them all!

Helen B  (30 July 2005)

This has got to be the best restaurant in Lourdas.   The food is excellent we too also went there 10 nights out of 14.   It is so reasonable and each evening they gave us free coffee and the children got free ice-creams.   As they got to know us we even were given free carafe's of wine!  Once you try it you will find it very hard to go elsewhere!   The chicken stifado is to die for!    Thank you to Patritcia and all her lovely staff.

Jean S  (14 June 2005)

Definitely the best place to eat in Lourdas. What can I say - we ate there 10 nights outs of 14 and never had a bad meal or anything to moan about. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the prices were the best and the food was delicious. My favourite was the lamb kleftiko (much better and cheaper that at the Magic Hill). They gave every-one coffee, tea or hot chocolate on the house every night. We've only been back 2 days and missing it already!

Patritsia   (11 June 2005)

Everything has changed this year! we have now moved our tables to the left hand side of the restaurant, updated the exterior and interior, (with better toilet facilties!) and improved the quality of our food,  still fresh and home made with all the favourite dishes.  i want to send kisses to francesca and to say thank you to andrea and darren.  I await the return of old friends and new customers

Andy S  (06 January 2005)

superb food and location. highly recommend this place, can't wait to come back. Scambled eggs and tomatoes were particularly nice. If you are reading this trying to decide if to visit kefalonia or not - DO! It is heaven.

Andy   (13 August 2004)

Kevin R  (12 October 2003)

Excellent food. Service was too slow when busy

Lily S  (11 September 2003)

very friendly staff and the food was very enjoyable. we could sit and watch the waves coming in!

Bill R  (28 August 2003)

This was by far the best restaurant in Lourdas - the chicken with pepper sauce was delicious. Patricia always welcomed us with a smile & I would have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant.

David D  (21 August 2003)

Last week of July and first week of August 2003. Had 5 dinners and a few lunches at Patricias. Excellent location, almost on the beach. Lovely view of the bay. Shame about the road between the kitchens and eating area but not really a problem. Food was of vey good quality and portion size was excellent. Recommend the moussaka, mussells saganaki, octopus starter, tuna salad, taramasalta. Free cinnamon liquer at the end of the meal - delicious. Patricia very grateful for our regular custom. For four main courses, the odd starter and a few beers the bill was about 40 euros. Wish we had gine there more often.

Andrea K  (21 August 2003)

been back to patricias for the third year running, the service by patricia and marcos was brilliant, as well as the food and we were well looked after. if you read this patricia i had a baby girl called francesca and she looks just like her dad, thanks again for making us very welcome, andrea & darren.

Karen D  (22 January 2003)

Visited in July and was very impressed, particularly with the seafood. Great house wine, fantastic views especially watching the sun set over the sea. Only complaints were the toilets were DISGUSTING, for use only in desperation and were situated next to the open kitchens....
