we have visited lourdas now for the past 5 years and every year we are warmly welcomed by patricia and her staff. there was a storm the first year we visited and patricia helped us through it by supplying us with metaxa! she greeted us on our second visit by running out to see us when we walked past - it was lovely and ever since patricia and her staff have made our annual trip to kefalonia like a home from home. patricia's mousaka is the best in the whole of greece and the kefalonia meat pie is to die for! the chef is just brilliant and he his cooking is consistent and perfect! peter and mikie, the waiters, are excellent and they remember us every year. we return every year in july and we're looking forward to going this year in 7 weeks time!! see you there...... margaret and mark clayton, workington, west c*mbria, england
when we stay at lourdas beach apratments this july this will be our third time to stay at gerry's place! gerry is the owner of these perfect, get away from it all, apartments and we have found him very friendly and approachable. he remembered us last year and he is very helpful. we enjoy watching the world go by from our balcony and we enjoy listening to the waves lapping up the shore morning, noon and night! our favourite greek terverna, patricia's, is only two minutes away and the two cocktail bars (one to the right and one to the left) are brilliantly greek! lourdas beach apartments are just what we need after 12 months of hard graft - laid back and the people could not be more friendly (that includes the lady who tends the allotments in between the apartments and the sea!). just brilliant!!!! roll on july!!! margaret and mark clayton, workington, west c*mbria, england
our first visit to lourdas was in 2002 for our honeymoon and we stayed at the lara hotel. george, his brother and their families were friendly and helpful and although we stay on the beach front now, we always go to see george (every year since 2002) and he remembers us and has a chat with us. we found the lara was just what we wanted for our first stay and it encouraged us to visit every year since. the only down side for us that the lara has a swimming pool (we prefer the beach) and it encouraged people not staying in the lara to visit, sometimes resulting in more noise than we would like. definitely good if you have children on holiday with you! margaret and mark clayton, workington, west c*mbria, england.
