We have just returned from stunning Kefalonia and already want to be back there..well didnt want to leave really!!! We had a fantastic time at the Maria Anna,Jenny and Gregori cant do enough for you. We had one of 3 ground floor rooms but it had a sea view and was level with the garden. I think there are only 4 rooms that do not have sea views. Lovely clean pool with sun beds, brollies and sea views and also a pool bar.We hired a car and visited most of the island although didnt get to see Ithaca...good excuse to go again.Drive to Lixouri and Xi beach then take ferry (with car/2people for 8.10 euros back to Argostoli)runs every 30 mins approx.
We visited Assos...well what can you say? It is BEAUTIFUL. The drive down to the village is pretty..lots of hairpin bends! We walked up to the castle, they are tiling the road so you couldnt take the car- and there is an old car parked across the road at the bottom to stop you anyway! We had lunch at a waterside taverna...absolute bliss. Be prepared to STAND AND DELIVER if you visit the public loo
Enjoyed the visit with the island tour...we took plenty of photos and nobody made any comment150 steps down(and back up) but you can stop for a breather here and there. 2 cafe/souvenir shops at top.
Visited Fiskardo with the Island tour. Very picturesque village...right on the harbourside, but didnt get much time to look around...only had an hour..but enjoyed watching the yachts etc coming into the harbour...how the other half live eh? Nice to people watch..though dont know if I would want to stay there.
Visited here with the Island tour...absolutely stunning..we had a singing boatman! Well worth the visit...colours are amazing..water really cold...but all very enjoyable.
Unfortunately we visited on Saturday and it was closed( check b4 you go). But although we didnt get into the castle, we went up to the locked gate and had fantastic views( and played with a lizard!). The village is beautiful with small arty shops and cafes. We enjoyed all this even though we didnt get to see the castle....next time...next time
Had a really good day, although it would have liked to stay longer in some places, but a full and interesting day all the same. You have lunch in Agia Efemia now as Fiskardo is so expensive. Dragaroti caves(beautiful) Mellisani lake(stunning) St Gerassimos monastery(beautiful ceiling/paintings) Rombola winery(interesting, but you can buy the same wine cheaper at the airport on way home!) Fantastic views and time for photos.
Booked with CO-OP and had a wonderful deal. Everything went smoothly from start to finish...highly recommended..Thank you Co-op
I had read the comments about this place but did not visit as it was always empty when we passed, which is not always a good sign. Spoke to 3 people, 2 of which had meatballs which were still frozen!!!! and another who was sick after eating there. Never saw anyone who tried to pull us in...always empty whatever time you passed.Told that husband now owns taverna across the road? not sure of name but is next to CBR care hire
We ate here 2 or 3 times and it was very good!We tried tzatziki, spinach pies, moussaka and beef stifado...all excellent. If you travel with Olympic...the rep has a welcoming meeting here and you get a 15% discount card when you eat here. Stunning views across the bay from the balcony. We went in June(just got back)and everywhere was quiet, but really enjoyed Inopolis and would visit there again
We ate here once...only because we didnt find it till the night before we went home!!!!
