absolutely stunning beach. i believe it was voted as one of europe's top ten beaches. looking down to the beach from the road above is an experience in itself. gorgeous. however, it does get very busy which does spoil it a little. but with a beach as breathtaking as it is, you can hardly expect anything else.
june is a good time to go, before 8it gets too too hot and too too crowded. otherwise, we have also been to cephalonia in the middle of september which was also nice, for the same reasons.
we stayed in lassi the first time we visted the island. i did feel that it would have perhaps been a good place for families, with lots of facilities etc but it was not really for us. this is the biggest and busiest resort on the island and i dont think it really gives you a very good feel for the island. it is quite english really.
very pretty little town with a huge fortress that looks like it is on an offshore island but is actually part of kefalonia. very clean, with flowers everywhere and very helpful locals. some nice tavernas too down by the waterfront.
quite abig port town that i didnt really take too. it all feels a bit tatty. anti samos beach is very nice though and it is useful place to be if you want to see other islands.
Delicious food, great, friendly service and a beautiful setting. best taverna in the south of the island in my opinion, though i havent eaten in them all! i think that there used to a be sto psito in argostoli
looks like a very good site which actually covers quite a few islands, not just cephalonia. it has a natty virtual agia efimia page amongst other things. i would recommend a visit.
a nice looking site for the island, especially good for its message board.
trying to save the wild horses of kefalonia. a very good cause
