We stayed here last year and had a wonerful holiday, George is a character and quiet a nice guy. The first week we were in a room above the bar, I am a light sleeper and found it too noisy, we put this to George and he moved us to a bigger room at the back of the block and we never heard a sound!! Good move there George. The Olive Grove pool was brilliant we had it almost to ourselves for the entire holiday and that was in August!!! Svoronata is a very small place with not a lot going on just a couple of bars and a few eating places but it suited our needs, that was to chill out, and that we did.
Dined here more than once, their Stifado must be the best, their prices are right, the location lovely, and the staff very pleasant. Love to go back.
The caves are brilliant, the lake must be seen, Fiskardo is lovely. I have only one down side, the roads are soooooo scarey, I was nearly in tears as we sat upstairs on the coach, at the front, I was terrified especially when we neared Myrtos beach and Assos. But that is just my own fear, and souldnt put anyone off as the scenery is second to none.
Thankfully were are not beach people because the beach is at the end of the runway, you can actually see the pilot as the plane passes overhead! Take a stroll to the other side of Svoronata the beach there is much better.
Fantastic little village, so peaceful all we could hear were the crickets! One word of warning do not use the public loos ( not very nice )
Wonderful place, I have never seen anything quite like it before, a definate must, just make sure you wear good shoes a little steep going in and out also a bit slippy under foot once inside.
Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by.
Spectacular, the water is a fantastic colour, you would not be disappointed, dont forget your camera
We were there in August 2000 and it was HOT. so hot one day the fire brigade was called out as the area surrounding the beach caught fire, it really made a mess.
