Excellent studios We have stayed at the Lighthouse Studios two times before and will be there again at the end of July 2015 - and we are looking forward to it very much. As stated by others, the studios are clean and well kept, and a pleasant stroll into town. Kostas and Makis are very helpful, and they run an excellent taverna on the beachfront. Be sure to ask for a discount as a guest of the studios! They all make you feel part of the family and I guarantee you will want to return. Katelios is a lovely old school resort with a nice beach (not massive) and a little fishing harbour. The bigger resort of Skala is close by and well worth a visit. So overall I have no hesitation in declaring the Lighthouse Studios as Poli Orea!
Just returned from three weeks at the Lighthouse Studios and can confirm that they were excellent, among the best we have stayed at in Greece.
We stayed at the Lighthouse for two weeks in June2006 and the studios far outshone our expectations. We were expecting the studios to be halfway up a mountain but we were pleasantly surprised at the location, it was only a 5-8min walk down a quite road to the village centre. The studios are set amongst farm land and lemon and olive groves, we could see the sea (just!) from our balcony but we had great views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. The studios are big and clean, there were four of us and we still had plenty of room in the studios. The bins were emptied every day and new towels and sheets every 3/4 days. The Lighthouse is split into two blocks, a group of ground floor 'bungalow' style studios and six first floor studios in a separate block. We were in the first floor studios which I preferred as you had a balcony. The room had a fridge/freezer, kettle, two ring hob, cooking utensils etc... the room also had a small dining table with chairs, a dressing table, wardrobe, sofa bed (converts into two beds for the kids) the balcony had a large patio table and four chairs as well as a washing line (with pegs). The only down side to staying at the Lighthouse was that the studios don’t have air conditioning or a fan. It was extremely hot when we were there, I scoured the village to buy a fan eventually a local shop keeper lent us his fan! So if you’re staying here bring a fan! Overall I would highly recommend these studios and the resort (car hire is a must - we used CBR in the village).
