La Mer Restaurant

Despite pevious comments about the owner,we found her quite pleasant.House red,chicken med and the lamb kefalonia were all good but nothing special.A reasonable meal for a reasonable price.

This was our second summer in Lourdas, once again we spent several nights in La Mer, this serves the best food in the resort, the food is always HOT and presentation very good. La mer is very popular with many other people and sometimes you do have to wait for a table, its best to go early or late to get a table. WE HAVE READ SOME OF THE OTHER COMMENTS AND DO NOT AGREE WITH THEM, This year we met JEANETA, who made us feel very welcome and often found time to have a chat with us, she also gave us lots of info about the island, we hope to see her in kefalonia next year.

Quite a painful walk from where we were staying (Vrisida), so we waited until we had the car. English lady came across quite false,however, the soup was excellent and the main course. Best to get there between 7.30pm and 8.00pm as it gets full quite quickly.

Great views, the food was excellent. We asked for rice with our souvlaki, which isn't normally served with rice, and some was found and cooked for us.

The food was really nice and the views fantastic but we completely agreed with the last post that the woman's public relations left a lot to be desired. We were lucky enough to arrive early and get a table straight away when we went but witnessed the woman being rather rude to a couple who were prepared to wait for a table but wanted to sit and wait for one in a less windy position. We were left feeling quite scared of her!!!

A public relations disaster! We were looking forward to this one after reading other comments, and as it was obviously busy wouldn't have minded a wait. But the English woman was extremely off-hand and clearly unconcerned if we stayed or not: "it might be 20 mins, or half an hour - and no, you can't have a drink while you wait". So we didn't.

Enjoyed our meal there. Had Lamb La Mer and Stuffed Sole - both gorgeous. Nice view

I thought the place let itself down by serving frozen veg!

me and my wife went to la mer restaurant 7 times, it has a balcony with a nice sea view.you must try the vegatable soup and stuffed sole. we met jeanette,who we thought was th owner,she was very friendly and organised,the only drawback were the waiters,we thought they should smile more and communicate more. all in all a fantastic holiday and a superb restauraunt.

We were probably spoiled by the food that was served up by Kostas at the Eleni Studios, which was unfailingly good. The meals we had at La Mer were always of a good quality, the service was good, the price was good but I just couldn't get too excited about the place. Possibly because the first meal was during a thunderstorm and my feet got soaked and frozen in the puddle under the table which, it seemed, the staff chose to ignore!

We had our last meal of our holiday here.We tried to get a table the night before but it proved that popular we were unable.In our opinion the food was of extremely high quality & accompanied with very good service. The Lamb la Mer has to be the top choice on the menu. We were on holiday for 7days & we ate at almost all restaurants and we had our last meal at la mer .In our opinion la mer is the best restaurant in lourdas!The only bad thing is that Janeta wanted to took as on the balcony!She said that the balcony is the best place in the restaurant and she took us under the sun but the great music, the excellent food and the very good service made us to forgot it!

We found it excellent, the location, food, price and the service. Nice vegitarian selection.

Have Girlfriend who knows the owners very well - service, atmosphere and food has always been excellant - certainly a resturant whose reputation is second to none on the island!

This has been our 3rd visit to the resort of Lourdas & also our 3rd visit to La Mer restaurant. In our opinion the food was of extremely high quality & accompanied with superb service. We were on holiday for 21days & we ate at La Mer every night. The Lamb la Mer has to be the top choice on the menu. We would just like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff (Andraos the owner Mikis, Mikis & Jeannette) we must not forget to thank the staff behind the scenes in the kitchen. The Warm inhouse welcome was appreciated after the usual street "pull ins".Food and service was excellent, and the sea view was a bonus. Not being biased, we felt that the "icing on the cake" was the personal touch created by Jeanette who made every effort to make every customer feel special. The meal I enoyed the most was mediterranean Chicken, however we tried and enjoyed all the meals.

Why everyone raves about this place I have no idea. It's one saving grace was that it is the same price band as all the other retaurants. I was bruskley told to sit down by an english woman. Should have walked out then. We were shoved in a dark corner. This is probably because we had three kids with us. The presentation was poncey without the quality to back it up. I think most people think large flat plates equals good food. I ate lamb la mer served with watery rice and a small portion of mixed frozen veg!! It was very salty and too much acid from the lemon in the sauce. Meat was chewy. Everyone in our party commented that the food was over salted. It took 2 litres of water before I felt better. I was really disappointed as I love eating at good restaurants and I think I had been given too much hype about this place.

We have just come back from a Lourdas and ate nearly every night at La Mer. The service is excellent, especially from the lovely Janetta who welcomed us with a smile, and chatted away with us like we were old friends. The menu whilst a little limited caters for all tastes, the La Mer salad is absolutely delicious and the views are lovely. Well done, and I'll definitely be back next year!!

We had our last meal of our holiday here. We tried to get a table the night before but it proved that popular we were unable. Meatball starters with tomatoes followed by chicken kebabs were delicious. Excellent view being high above the resort and sunset is spectacular.

it's about a 15 minute uphill walk up from Lourdas market square - so a taxi is recommended for the elderly and unfit ! - but..once there ..- the views are amongst the best I've seen and the food was great ! very good service and highly recommended ! I'll be back !

The Salads are brilliant, The Service Excellent and the prices very good also. There Tuna Salad was the best I tried all holiday.

the food is really good and presnted in a very modern way but never the less still very greek if you want it to be i.e. tastewise.their le mer salad is superb and i would recommend the grilled chicken in a honey vinegrette-excellent.because it has tables on a balcony outside with good views over lourdas bay they are very much in demand-i suggest if you want one of these you try to eat about 8 pm or leave it til after 10 pm.

The waiters are particularly gorgeous, as well as being amazingly efficient and friendly too!! What more could you want??
