6th-13th July 2008 Nikos Apartments

Nikos is at the top of the hill, but this means it is quiet and has good views. It took 8 mins to walk down to the main resort road and 10-12 mins back up, which helped settle the stomach after a large meal or lots of drink.

I thought the room was of good quality by Greek standards. Clean, double bed, small dining table and chairs, well stocked out kitchen, including a kettle (very rare), sandwich toaster, fridge freezer, cutlery etc.

Shower even had a shower tray, and the sink had a plug.

Balcony had fantastic views over the resort, although our room (no 6) shared the balcony with the room next door. Aircon was chargable at 5 euros a day

Pool was nice, plenty of sunbeds and brolleys, again with fantastic views, with sunshine all around the pool all day. No pool bar which is nice not to have any irritating music, but it was handy to have the pool bar over the road at The Oliver Garden which served a range of snacks, which took only 1minute to walk to.

Room was cleaned twice a week with sheets and towels changed once a week.

On the last day, they had a FREE courtesy room til 4pm for all people leaving that day to use for toilets or to have a shower which was a nice touch when most places would charge you 50 euros to keep the room. After this time, you could use the toilets at the Olive garden.
Overall I was very impressed and I've been to Greece for the last 12 years.
I've added some videos of the room and of the pool on youtube, hope the links work, please try to ignore the terrible commentry

shall endevour to create a map of the resort because i couldn't find a decent one before i went.

. have just  returned from nikos studios and due to a late booking was given room 13 which has received less than complimentary comments. ok it was small -but i would stay in that room again. it was as descibed in the brochure- small- clean and simple. the views at the hotel more than make up for any inadequacies. we have stayed in many kosmar hotels in various places in the past. you get what is decsribed but you do need a good sense of humour and organisation.  the walk is taxing but is better than a gym subscription - taxis are plentiful. the island and surrounding islands are stunning. the people are friendly and the food is beautiful, paticularly the Phaedra in Lassi and the best in Argostoli is The Captains Table. Argostoli is  lovely to spend an evening. it is just a walk down the other side of the hill and a taxi back. whoever goes- enjoy

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Nikos Studios. Probably the best room we have ever had on any of our Greek Island holidays. Fantastic views over the bay and it was a good sized room too!! Still wish the Greeks could provide a comfortable pillow, but not really a problem. Pool was excellant and plenty of sun beds. No stupid towel merchants trying to reserve the best, as they where all good and the rooms where kept clean and tidy by the friendly staff. Good bar across the way at the Olive Garden and Nico's cool beer was a life saver after the climb up the dreaded hill.
Just one note of warning. Rooms 13 and 14 in the old block are small, airless, damp and awfull. Our friends stayed in one and their clothes had mould growing on them after 2 weeks!! The Kosmar rep was more than useless in helping them to try to move to better accomodation. If you do get one of these 'cells' Complain like hell. They are not worth the money Kosmar charge, but you will be given free air conditioning to keep you quiet..

i went to Nikos Studios July 2005 and i had sucha great time, i honestly loved it there. the place was lovely, the views were outstanding, the weather was absolutely gorgeous and the people were all very friendly and helpful. i think the bad thing about that holiday was thta i wish i hadnt have taken my girlfriend (at that time), as she spoilt what was such a great time away. the location was a great spot - i mean i was able to keep myself fit by walking to the shops without doing something that was un-doable. the pool there was lurvely. it was cleaned every night (and i know this coz i watched them - not on purpose). all in all i have not got a single bad thing to say about this place it was a trully fantastic time and want to come and visit again.

oh yer and Nikos you are the man - cheers dude!

The best thing about these studios is the view! Absolutely breath-taking. I could easily have spent the whole week on the balcony, in the glorious sun, drinking a cold Mythos looking click to enlargeout over the bay of shimmering water towards Lixouri and out to 'Rabbit Island'! Even at night, you can see the twinkling lights of Lixouri across the bay and look up at the stars (and on a clear night you can actually see the milky way!). The only down side was the steep hill upon which the studios are situated. But it is well worth it just for the view and the extra tranquility. Plus the Olive Garden pool-bar is just 2 minutes walk from the studios so ideal if you just need a quick bite or a bottle of water etc. The studios themselves are basic, as most are in Greece, but to be honest, you won't need to spend much time indoors in Lassi!

Holidayed here with 2 children May/June this year.  Had a fabulous time, big hill a struggle first couple of days but after that no problem.  Plenty of taxis if you dont fancy it.  The pool is good, plenty of sun beds, apartments very clean, friendly staff.  Will go again!!

The Nikos apartments are a fantastic place to stay.  They are situated up a steepish hill but if you take your time walking up it, this isn't a problem.  The view is fantastic and all apartments have a sea and pool view.  The inside of them are spotless and the maid cleans every other day which includes changing the sheets and towels.  The pool area is as good with great views over the bay to take in while you sunbathe.  For snacks there is the pool bar at the Olive Tree complex opposite where you can find a fantastic steak submarine roll (the steak is marinated in chilli...bootiful!!).

The best supermarket is Supermarket Lassi which is down the hill and to the left.  A Greek Australian runs it with his family and he's great ...very friendly and helpful.

Just back from 2 weeks staying at Nikos in Lassi. The apartments were great and am definatley booking up for next year.It is a climb up the hill but well worth the effort. The pool area was spotless and so peacefull. The Olive Gardens over the road has a bar and restaurant which is really handy and means you don't always have to go into Lassi, there is a supermarket at Liberatos (about 1/3 down the hill) but it is a bit more expensive.Nefali is the best restaurant in Lassi, say hello to Kate + Kostas.

WE HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE NIKOS APTS IT WAS QUIET BUT FREINDLY THE APTS ARE BASIC BUT CLEAN WE LOVED THE ISLAND SO MUCH WE ARE RETURNING IN JUNE O6

We arrived back yesterday and felt the need to share the experince with you. We have had a lovely holiday, although the weather wasn't perfect!

Yes, the appartments were up a steep hill but  the walk was worth it just for the peace, tranquility and of course the stunning view. We were pushing a buggy and as long as we took turns it was fine. Alternatively for 5 euros you could take a taxi up.

The rooms were very clean and as far as we were concerned there was nothing to complain about.

Just returned from a week here. Very nice apartments, clean and well looked after (although it was at the end of our week we discovered there is an old block and a new block, we were in the old block, and the new block is even nicer, if you are able to specify when booking I;m not sure.).

Downside is its at the top of a very steep hill, and with whining children on a hot day the trek is not much fun.Hiring a car makes this far more pleasant! Other problem was on checkout day, moved out of room at 11am, shared courtesy room until 5pm which was great, then there was nowhere to use the toilet until our taxi pickup at 9pm. Had to ask another guest if we could use their toilet, which was quite awkward, as there is nowhere you can use, without a long walk down in to the village.

Apart from that it was lovely, nice clean pool which seemed to be cleaned daily, and clean towels and rooms cleaned every other day.

Brian I

We had fantastic views from Room 7. Found the studio fairly well eqipped but no kettle. Nice pool. Very hard 15 minute hike up from resort or 20 mins from Argostoli town. You need to be fit or hire a car. Go to Argostoli for better shopping & restaurants. We liked Kalafatis on the waterfront - their roast lamb was the best meal we had in 2 weeks. Most of the island can be seen in 3 - 4 days with a car. Fiskardo was the best day out and Myrtos the best beach. Robola winery was also an interesting trip.

Just arrived back from a week at the Nikos apartments. They were clean and well looked after and with great views over the bay. The pool was great, if rather cold at this time of year! Our only complaint was that the bins were not emptied often enough. Other than that great. It is at the top of a steep hill so don't go if you can't climb steep hills

WE HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM NIKOS STUDIOS AND FOUND THEM TO BE EXCELLENT. AS YOU WOULD EXPECT TYPICAL GREEK ACCOMMODATION, BASIC BUT CLEAN. ROOMS WERE CLEANED AND BEDS CHANGED EVERY OTHER DAY. ONLY DOWNFALL WAS THE WALK UP THE VERY STEEP HILL WHICH WAS OFF PUTTING, WOULDNT FANCY THE TREK IN JULY/AUGUST.

David N

WE STAYED AT THE NIKOS STUDIOS BETWEEN 26 SEPT TO 3 OCT 04 THE SCENERY WAS FANTASTIC, SO THERES A STEEP HILL, WHEN THE VIEWS FROM YOUR APPARTMENT ARE THIS GOOD WHO CARES.LASSI WAS QUIETER THAN WHAT WERE USED TO BUT IT HAD PLENTY OF RESTAURANTS. TRY AVOID OSKARS IF YOU WANT TO PAY OVER THE TOP PRICES FOR YOUR MEAL FOR AVERAGE FOOD YOU CAN GET ELSE WHERE.I WOULD ONLY RECOMMEND THIS ISLAND FOR A WEEKS STAY AS THERE IS NOT ALOT TO DO , THE CAVES AND LAKE ARE SUPERB AND SO IS SAINT GEORGES CASTLE , ALSO RECOMMEND THE WINERY FOR WINE TASTING BUT ALL THESE CAN BE EXPLORED IN A DAY WITH CAR HIRE.THE TWO BEACHES IN LASSI ARE THE BEST YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE IN GREECE ,OVERALLL WE HAD A GREAT TIME A GIVE KEFALONIA A BIG THUMBS UP.

We stayed at the Nikos Studios in July this year and we thought it was excellent. Air-cons have been added to all rooms over the winter and was a welcome surprise as it wasn't advertised in the brochure. The owner called every evening so if you had any problems you could let her know. We stayed in the newer of the two blocks and will hopefully be revisiting next year.

We are due to stay here in July as Kosmar have dropped Vinaries Studios. Can anyone tell me if they are quiet?

Andy B

We stayed at the Nikos apts in August 2003 and were very pleased with the accommodation. All of the Studios are modern and have great views from the balconies over Lassi and across the water to the Lixouri Peninsular. Some also look out onto the swimming pool which was cleaned every day and was bigger than we expected from the pictures in the Kosmar brochure.
The studios are basic but comfortable and split between the Blue (larger) and yellow blocks. We were in the yellow block which seemed very new from the decor and interior fittings. It had everything we needed including the all important modern shower and a table and chairs on the balcony. The only thing lacking is air-con, but room fans can be hired from the local supermarkets.
The Nikos is in a very quiet position up a steep hill overlooking Lassi. This can be a pretty strenuous 15 minute walk from the resort centre up a windy road. Especially late at night! A torch is a good idea too.
The Nikos has no bar, but if you want a drink or snack the Olive Garden apts accross the road has a pool bar with great views.

Apartments (yellow block) were clean and tidy. Adequate facilities for simple meals, however we would not choose to do too much cooking due to lack of air conditioning. (Fans can be hired locally - we found out on our last day!). Views from balcony are fantastic. Pool great, but lack of sunbeds if your'e not an early starter. Option to use facilities at the neighbouring apartments (including bar). Lassi 10 minute walk down hill, however return trip is a nightmare during the day. We would recommend the Sirtaki Garden Bar for a relaxing drink (& they play a lot of 80's tunes!). Argostoli in opposite direction takes about 20-30 minutes. Car hire a must if you want to see something of the island, we did most of it in two days.

Ginny

Just back from a week there and we were pretty pleased. Great view of the sea from our balcony high up on the hill, nice swimming pool, situated well for Lassi and Argostoli. Studios are small but adequate (note, no air con so pretty hot at night as well as during the day of course). Bit of a hiccup with our room when we arrived but one call to the rep and we were moved (not bad considering there is no one based at the studios to help (ie - no reception). Takes just under 10 mins to walk down to main road to Lassi and 15 or so back up (hard work in the sun!!). Also watch the hill if it is wet, my friend slipped and really hurt herself so be careful. Good basic accommodation, get a car if you want to explore, otherwise taxis are a good idea if you don't like hills!!

We stayed at the Nikos Apartments in Lassi a couple of years ago and were very pleased with the accommodation. We are interested in staying there again. Can you help us with contact details? Either direct or a tour operator?
