Olive Garden Apartments was one of the smallest resorts we had ever stayed in and absolutely loved it. The rooms were clean (there was a lack of loo roll) and the pool was cleaned every evening. We did get caught for the 2 air conditioning units (8 euros each or 15 for the 2 which you had to pay - could not only have 1). It didn't matter what time you went to the pool as there were always enough sun beds. All the kids seemed to mix well and everyone shared their inflatables. The pool bar was run by Andy and Jen and they could not do enough to help.
One night we had a power cut but the lights stayed on in the bar so we just had a drink and within 30 minutes the power was back on. On another occasion, the whole of Lassi lost power but, I say something for the Greeks, they got to work straight away and the power was back within 20 minutes.
The hill is quite steep, great going down but a bit of a hike after dinner. We decided to shower after dinner because you would always need a shower when you got back up to you room. Taxis always available to take you up for 5 euros (don't tip because they have the monopoly on the hill). Don't be fooled by the free delivery from the Lassi supermarket (you'd order everything and they would bring it up at 16:00, Mon, Wed & Fri) - the man who owns the apartments also owns the supermarket. We learnt that if you used the supermarket on the right at the bottom of the hill, everything was between 20 and 140 cents cheaper and, if you brought a big shop of water, wine, lager, bread, milk, butter and cheese, you could save the money and get a taxi back with your shopping - saving you the walk up the hill.

On arrival at these apartments thought wow, view absolutely spectacular. Pool area and Pool bar were great and the weekly quiz was a good laugh. The apartment itself was a two bedroomed one and this is where we came unstuck as we wanted to have the air conditioning on but was told that we had to pay 15 euros per night plus a 20 euro deposit as there were two units in the apartment and surprisingly one could not work without the other. We spoke to the rep the following morning after a very hot and sticky night and the rep said that this was a regular complaint and that both he and the tour company had raised the issue with the owner but he was not prepared to budge on the cost. Therefore we endured two weeks of sleeping with the balcony doors open (I would rather get bitten by mosquittos) and two bedside fans which were provided which rattled on through the night.
Obviously this is not advertised or stated in the brochure!!!!
The other point was although we had 2 sinks and one bath/shower, when we asked the maids for a plug so we could wash up we were told there were no plugs!!!!
And finally if you run out of loo roll after a few days you would expect to have a new one put into the bathroom when the maids come in - NO you ask behind the bar for one and get told that you have to wait til the following morning. So you buy your own from the shop and you wait to see if the maid leaves one the next day but no you spend the rest of your holiday buying your own toilet roll.
Now this may seem trivial to some people, but you do take certains things for granted.
So to sum up, beautiful views, and well maintained pool bar area. The people from across the road probably had the better option as they could use our facilities but did not have to sleep there!!!!!
Hasten to say will not be going back to Olive Gardens.

I didn't stay here, i was over the road at the Nikos, but used the pool snack bar everyday. Yes it is at the top of the hill, took approx 8 mins to walk down to the main resort road and 10-12 mins back up.
The pool is very nice with fantastic views over the resort. The pool bar was fairly quiet, no loud music. Good snack menu. A large Mythos was 2.50 euros
They do a pub quiz on wednesday nights and a BBQ on friday nights.
Very friendly couple behind the bar
sorry can't tell you about the rooms, but they look modern from the outside

Hi, myself, husband and three children have just returned from an excellent holiday. We stayed in the two storey apartments and as others have already said they were superb. They were clean, extremely large and everything that we hoped for. The views we had looking out over Lassi were breath taking and the sunsets were really beautiful. Nick the barman/cook was very welcoming and Lara (who is from GB) was so friendly. We met two other families who were great company and all the children got on so well. The food served was fab. and Nick's BBQ on Saturday nights were amazing. I am sure we had half a cow each and a few other animals too. Nick's singing has to be heard to be believed, I'll say no more. The walk to Lassi itself wasn't as bad as we were first expected and a taxi home was only 5 euros. Also just 5 euros to Agostoli was so reasonable. We were all very sad to leave, but there is always next year. Anyone thinking of staying here should book it now, as we all highly recommend it, and say hello to Nick and Lara for us. A truly magical island.

Yes, it IS steep walking up to Olive Gardens but it is quite do-able with a push chair if you take it slowly. And of course there are always taxis waiting at the bottom by the supermarket if you're really desperate, and they're quite reasonable. The tour operators DON'T leave you to walk up. Our coach dropoff point and pickup was at the Pefanos office, but they laid on a minibus or taxis from there to the Olive Garden and back again at the end of the holiday. The views and sunsets from the Olive Gardens are out of this world and well worth the climb. Go for it, and just allow some funds for taxis in case you get desperate (2 or 3 euros to take you up the hill)!!

Hi, We visited Marinos Apartments in Sept 06 which we loved but I've noticed The Olive Gardens are slightly cheaper and have more facilities.
Can anyone tell me is the steep hill going to be a pain with a 3 stone child in a pushchair? Marinos Appts were steep and we were at the top but we coped fine.
Also when the coach drops you off do they take you up the hill to the Olive Gardens or do you have to hike up with your cases?
Thanks! | ||||||||||

We had a great stay at these apartments during July. The views are breathtaking and the bar and terrace are first class. A lot of reviews mention the steep hill, we found it ok to walk up at night, but would not recommend it during the heat of the day. We had one of the two bedroom apartments with the spiral staircase. The apartment was spacious but would benefit greatly from a sofa and some balcony furniture. It was a nuisance having to move the main table in and out of the living room for alfresco breakfasts. All the staff were very cheery, Nick does really good food and the apartments were swept daily, mopped every 4 days and sheets/towels changed about every three days.
The beach at Lassi is excellent with crystal claer water, good beach bars and watersports. Lassi itself isn't that inspiring, but there are some good restaurants and cocktail bars. Ozzi's at the top end of the strip does a very reasonable Friday night barbeque. Teenagers will find it a bit on the quiet side, although my two didn't complain too much. Argostoli is worth visiting at night for a wider choice of eating and drinking places. Car hire is a must to see the sights on this lovely island. As usual, the local prices for coach and boat excursions are much cheaper than those touted by the Reps.
