This was our first visit to Kefalonia, and were very impressed with the island, and will probably return. The Katerina apartments however were a very different matter. Being English, I don't usually complain, and particularly as we booked this last minute I didn't feel in a position to moan too much, but there was only one word to desrcibe them - disgusting. We had the room cleaned only once, and that was only because we asked. There is no kettle (not usually a problem), but when we took out a pan to boil water, it smealt as though someone had used it as a bed pan, it stank of sewage. The crockery was old, dirty and chipped, and the cutlery was filthy. The wet room (it is not a bathroom) was rotting to pieces, and because we only had one towel each, were were unable to lie anything on the floor to dry our feet when we got out of the shower. The owners lived above, and shouted at each other day and night (for some reason they were unable to converse, only scream and shout), and whilst there, we were subjected to a childrens party until the early hours, with children racing each other on bikes in front of our apartment, and banging on the floor for no apparent reason. I have been all over the globe, and have stayed in some pretty basic accomodation, but this rates as the worst ever. My advice, stay away and book elswhere in Lassi

The location of these appartments was good. Lassi has one main street with a few bars, nice restaurants and shops. The Katerina appts are situated up one end. They are up a steep hill, but it is only a short way from the road. Not for people with walking problems though. They are typically Greek - very basic. Only stay here if you plan to eat out in the evening. You can't really cook here! Also, the cutlery and crockery is very bad - could just about make up one set from the bits and bobs in the drawer! Take your own towels with you. They only give you one towel each and nothing to step out onto when you get out of the shower, so floor gets very wet and slipery. For a girl who needs to wrap her hair in a towel too, one is not enough!!
The only real downer - I did have a bit of a moan to the rep, is that it says that the bedding and towels should be changed twice a week. We had been there 5 days when I complained that the bins hadn't been emptied, towels and bedding not changed and that we had to rush down the shop on the first day as we didn't have any toilet roll!
The next day 2 new towels were thrown into the room and the bins emptied, but that was it.
It was a shame, as the appts could have been so nice if they just did that bit extra.

These are really excellent apartments. Although they are situated at the top of a rather steep hill, the location is quiet with magnificent panoramic views of Argostoli and the surrounding countryside. The pool is regularly clean and the apartments are cleaned regularly and thoroughly. My wife and I have always go to Kefalonia for our holidays and these apartments are our first choice every time. Basic, but clean and well practical. Well worth it. | ||||||||||

| 4th time on Kef but first time staying here.Location was excellent at one end of Lassi just up a small hill. (and to all of those moaning about the hill , just try Liberatos!!)Room was very basic but adequate as a base and given the price we paid was fine.Unfortunately there were a few noisy groups there at the same time as us which did slightly hamper our enjoyment.Sheets and towels were only changed once a week which was unsatisfactory. There are better places to stay at similar prices. | ||||||||||

| Can anyone give the exact location of these apartments? I know they are at the end of Lassi where Gradakia beach is and we have stayed in the Sissy apartments before. We have just got a brilliant deal for next summer from Kosmar and have booked. | |

| We have just arrived back in England from a fantastic holiday in Kefalonia. We were both a little nervous about arriving at the Katerina Apartments after reading several bad reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. We had room No.19 which was really quite big and spacious compared to all other Greek apartments we've ever stayed in. The rooms were clean and basic but all you need for a base. The family upstairs could be a little noisy at times but in the two weeks we were there they only really disturbed us one night. I would recommend the apartments as they are a good price and in a good location for exploring the island. | ||||||||||
