We ate at Flamingo on our first night in Skala. I had the Beef Stifado which was the best Beef Stifado I have eaten in Kefalonia. My wife had the Swordfish Skewers with fresh Vegeatbles and she loved it.

We started with Calamari and Courgette Croquettes which were also delicious. The Wine was good value at Seven Euros for a Litre and the Service was freidnly and efficient.

Been holidaying in Skala for ten years.  We've nearly always eaten at the Flamingo and found the food excellent, the service equally so and the staff very friendly (maybe because we keep coming back?).  Sit at the front - lots of people watching on the street.  I think it'll be a while before we're there again since we both retire next year and intending to settle in la belle France but I absolutely will be back one day.  Angelos is the patron - his daughter has fluent English.

P.s.(re small portion complaint) who wants gigantic portions ?  Your waistline is important if you're going to exhibit it on the beach

Myself and my husband have fond memories of Flamingo. My husband proposed to me in the beautiful rear garden, 5 years ago. It was idillic, down on one knee, fantastic atmosphere. Staff were amazing and fussed round us for the rest of the evening! Couldn't have picked a nicer place to have gotten engaged. Been married three years now, and would love to go back and visit! Needless to say I can't remember much about the food, but was one of the best evening's of my life....topped off with cocktails at Sally's Bar, what more could a girl want?!:-)

Probably one of the best restaurants setting wise - try and sit in the rear "garden"  We thought food very good - prawns for starters and plenty of them.  Steak very good and meat kebab good although not loads of meat bearing in mind the price.  would recommend it although not one of the best we went too.

Ate here once out of our 2 week stay.  Very poor service.  The people on the next table had numerous problems with cold food and food not as ordered.  Our meal was not that good and it was not a place we wanted to try again.

We had the best meals here, the staff were very friendly, there was one day we chose to eat at Aquarius & we were disappointed so we ate the rest of the time at Flamingo.  can't wait to go back

We had one meal here which was not the best of the week but maybe down to what we chose. The ambience was great.

Enjoyed a light lunch here on a couple of occasions,  found the staff very friendly and helpful. Try their 'real greek' Croquette Courgettes and Big Beans in a rich tomato & Garlic sauce . . followed by a slightly warm Kefaifi and ice cream . . absolutely tops !  Washed down with a glass of Mythos from the tap, not bottle.

The picture by the way, was of a quickly sorted 10yr Wedding Anniversary present for my wife ( TIN -  10yrs )  prepared by the Patron, who is standing in the background.
Ten out of Ten again for improvisation !!

We found the food here really good and staff friendly BUT they rushed around so much it spolied trying to have a nice quiet relaxing meal - it was like they were on speed

Very nice food and varied menu, however we did find at the end of the holiday that Bar Scandiavia does the same variety, includes your starchy staples like potatoes, rice etc and is slightly cheaper.

We only found this restaurant towards the end of our holiday, after reading a recommendation in our hotels guestbook. What an absolute gem. Service is lightening quick even during busy times and the food is second to none with a fantastic varied menue. Breakfasts were also brilliant, especially if you like a fat boys egg and bacon as I do. Over the two weeks we were there we ate at many different restaurants, but I have to say that we think The Flamingo was top of the list.

Best restaurant in Skala! (Visited August 2006).Very nice food, there were eight of us so we tried a varitey of food and was never dissapointed.  The Famingo is family run but very professional with extremely nice and friendly staff.  We will definately visit again.
