Returned here after our last visit in 2007.
Best chicken souvlaki we have ever had, and good value. There was  a specials dish each night eg meat balls, kefalonia meat pie, lamb. at the end of the meal a complimentary glass of wine was given. Staff very friendly and welcome you on each visit, we went 5 times in 2 weeks and on our last night we got a gift of  2  bottles of wine- given to the lady!!

Excellent food and excellent service, nothing dodgy about the wine here, the house red was lovely as in all the other restaurants we went to and cheap.

Enjoyed this restaurant so much I visited twice whilst my partner and I was in Skala!! The food, atomosphere and service was fantantic. Very Greek!!

Elaine D          10/10

If you want excellent Greek food with a great atmosphere this is the place to go!  We really enjoyed going to this restaurant.  The only dodgy part is their own wine but they do provide a good choice of others and everything is good value.  We will be returning on our next trip!

My husband Bassil and myself have visited Scala for our holidays many times now and eaten at this superb typically Greek restaurant almost every night,  food always great and the staff, Tolis and Panos, well so friendly, treat us like family.   We so enjoy these two young fellows' company, and the visits to the restaurant actually makes our holiday even more special  we always stay at George's Apartments, nearbye -so it is wondrful just to walk down the hill to the restaurant.  The gift of free wine is so kind of them, and we always are given a present on our last night of a couple bottles of wine to bring home with us as a thankyou for our custom.  Cannot praise the restaurant enough.  We have tried nearly all the different meals on the menue, and the sweet of yoghurt and honey delicious.

Very dissappointed as had heard so many good revues.  My meal was good, I had stuffed tomatoes, however my partner was very dissappointed with his beef dish.  We were bothered by numerous wasps. We didn't go again even though it was the nearest retaurant to us

Once again we found this restaurant to be  superb.Excellent friendly staff made us very welcome. Lovely garden setting with views right down to the sea. The food was sublime and very reasonably priced. The lamb chops are still tops

This was a great restaurant and for me very Greek. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. We both had the lamb chops and the free wine went down a treat. We will definitely return on our next visit.

Easily the best place to eat in Skala. We went twice during our 2 week stay and intended to go back on our last night and couldn't get a table.

The Souvlaki and lamb chops were out of this world.

It will certainly be the first place we eat in upon our return on 23.08.2007....

We ate just the once here during our two week stay in August. The food and service was very good but our problem during that evening was wasps, persistant, annoying and constantly landing on the food, In fairness to the waiters they were swatting them away in amongst serving other people. This was a shame as you tended to hurry the meal to get away. Other people were also suffering the same problem.Strangely we didn't have this problem anywhere else in Skala

A few days later these stripped projectiles did manage to sting me - twice, up in the old Skala village.

Excellent welcome from Tolos and Yianni.  Food was very good quality, choice of baked potato or salad with your meal not the mandatory chips.  Swordfish was excellent, souvelaki and special lamb chops also.

I think it's always nice when you've been to a place a few times and the staff make an effort to be friendly and give you a warm welcome.  It was not over priced at all, perhaps because it's not on the main drag.

Will definately be back.

Visit Apostolis during our 2 weeks stay in Scala and were very impressed.  The food was excellent and the house wine was really nice.

We were going to go back for a second visit but unfortunately didn't get around to it.

The menu is good if not as big as some other restaurants in Scala, the prices are really reasonable and hte service was excellent.

If you visit Scala make a point of trying this restaurant - I don't think you will be disappointed.

Visited Skala in early July 06. This restaurant is ace, went twice in the week. Its a simple little typical greek taverna, not a large flash restaurant, where they try and teach you greek if you are willing. The 2 guys that were there were very VERY friendly and really look after you, we loved it.  Food is great and very reasonably priced, (cheapest we had all week) house wine is very good, suprisingly.  Would recommend if you want a peaceful realaxing meal in true greek style.

The best place to eat in Skala. Food and service excellent with a price to match. Dont miss it

the last time we went to skala we found this little gem of a taverna so we were delighted to find it is still there, the food is outstanding everything from the tradditonal english pork steak to the chefs special mousaka, meatballs and the stiffado is delicous, also you get a choice of potato and not just chips like in some resturants. i would always recommend this taverna to anyone visitng skala go off the main road and follow the signs you wont be dissapointed.  the service is so friendly, and the prices are brilliant

Two of us ate for 26 euros (an outstanding price). The food was very good: beef stifado (though it was described as veal on the menu, it was a prime cut and excellent) and chicken souvlaki (tender and succulent) plus bread, and two lemonades (that must be how we saved money!). The service was good. As another reviewer has written, we found wasps a real problem and they hastened the end of our meal: they were very persistent. That spoiled the meal a bit. We also ate at Aiolos and The Pines (better than Apostolis), Aquarius and Flamingo (similar) and at Scandinavia and Gallera (worse). Aiolos was the pick of the bunch, for both food and location.

Very good simple cooking.  Service was great.  Try the house wine, it's really very nice.

we actually put that everything was excellent when we entered our comments previously but they came up as average that is an error

We have just returned from Skala and went to quite a few restaurants but our favourite was Apostolis.  Feel this must be the same restaurant, just different spelling.  Great food with excellent service, especially by cute little Efi, the lovely waitress.  She speaks good English and is so welcoming, every night we went, the welcome was wonderful.  The owner, Apostolis, serves you with such efficiency but you never feel rushed and can easily spend as much time as you wish there.  Mind you, this was in May so I would not think that would be appreciated so much in the summer season.  The restaurant is up by the childrens playground, near the Natalie Apartments.  We saw the same people night after night so obviously the food was good.  Great food, great service, great company and exceptionally reasonable.

we have just returned from our holiday in kefalonia we have been there five times over the past five years, but the first time we have ever eaten in Apostles restaurant. What fools we have been, it was excellent ,food, service ,hospitality location are all top class. The only negative comment was that chips seem to be the only option with your meal if you get there after 9pm.My wife was lucky enough to get the last baked potato one evening !!When we go to greece the last thing we want is to eat chips, but I feel the restaurants are under the impression that we Brits.feel insulted if we are not offered them as an option. So I hope when we visit Apostles next year or later on this year they will have cooked more baked potatoes! We can highly reccomend this restaurant, we tried various meals on the menu all cooked to perfection and the house white wine is one of the nicest we we had while on holiday.
