Martin W          10/10

Have just got back from Kefalonia (our 6th year) we normaly go to Loudas but thought we would try Sami and stayed at the yiannis studios,  we loved them as they were clean and peacefull. We used the Pericles restaurant as it was good value 10 euros a head  and the bar for a night cap.
You need a car to see the sights and to get to the beaches the one in Sami is ok but do not walk to Anti Samos its miles away.
A new cool bar in sami called Willys,  nice guy who runs it (forgot his name) and Dana she is great as well.

We stayed at the Yiannis Studios in Sami 25 Sept - 2nd Oct 05.  It is set in a pleasant garden area with walnut and fig trees, palms - see picture. (with grape vines around the back!).  The accommodation is small but is fine as a base.  The walls are very thin!!, but the location is lovely.  Its in shaded  gardens so you have to move the chair around to find the sun!! The shower room was quite small and it you have mobility problems I would advice not to use as you have to angle yourself out of the shower cubicle.  On the downside, don't know if it was the  cleaners slacking off at the end of the season but we only had our bins changed once during our stay - not great considering what goes in them.  Sarah the Thomas Cook Rep was helpful.  It's about a 20 walk along the roadside to the harbour and 3 euros in a taxi back.  You are just off the main road so when the ferries come in you hear to traffic (not too bad though). You need a car to get to a decent beach (Anti Samos).  You have use of the Hotel Pericules facilities but we didnt.  Nice basic place to stay.
