10/10We had a fantastic week there again this May, returning after we had a week there in September 2010.
Yes, the rooms are a little basic, but they are clean, the staff are friendly, the pool and outside areas are spotless and the new terrace area and wicker furniture is a great addition. The food and drink at the pool bar is good and not too expensive.
Eleni the owner does not speak great English, but trys her best and appreciates if you try to speak a little Greek, and she is very caring.
Like Steve, we will be back in May 2012

The food is good and a good price. Don't be put off because the surroundings aren't a plush as some of the other restaurants in Lourdas, granted it doesn't have the views, but the food is equally as good if not better than some you will pay 10 euros per couple more for!
May - (Best Time to Visit)

9/10We usually go in September, but to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary we went mid May. We thought it was great, ok, not a everywhere was open, but the beaches were deserted, the weather good. Rain 2 evenings, but we were in the bar anyway, cloudy with a shower one morning, but by lunchtime the sun was out.
Temps around 25-30 degrees, yes I needed a wrap or cardigan some evenings and hubby worn long sleeve shirts on a couple of nights, but the last 3 night he was wearing tee shirts and me sleeveless dresses.
We enjoyed the quietness of it all, on day we had a beach to ourselves - how good is that??
Avithos Resort - (Resorts in Kefalonia)

10/10I haven't stayed at this resort, but used the beach on a couple of occassions, I can 100% recommend the taverna nearest the beach called "To Enekito" Is is a spotless clean, old style Greek taverna, Dimitri the owner and his wife serve lovely food and are very pleasant and nothing is too much trouble for them.
I can recommend the skordalia and fried cod fish, it was to die for, as was the sardines

10/10Again this year as we did last last year we ate a few times at the Olive Lounge. I was surprised that out of the 1,000's of people they must see each year that they remembered us!
The food was great! The best tzaztiki with olive tapenade I've ever tasted. Beef stifado and kleftico the meat just disintegrated when you put your fork on it yum! Hubby had the liver and that too was tender, moist and sooo tasty and the swordfish was scrummy.
The house wine there is also a good price and good quality.
Liana, Karen and staff cannot do enough to make sure that you have a good evening.
Andromeda Restaurant - (Restaurants in Lourdas)

10/10Kostas, Theresa and staff go out of their way to ensure that you have a great experience when dining at Andromeda. Good food, fast service and in a setting with wonderful views.
We had the pleasure of being at their 5th birthday bash in May 2011. There was a buffet being served and you got to sample almost everything on their menu, it was wonderful, as was the entertainment Jerry Hollis. The best night I have ever had on Kefalonia and there has been quite a few to chose from
Jerry Hollis will be appearing at Andromeda every Monday evening this summer (2011). I recommend you see him, he is good, with the food and atmosphere at Andromeda you are in for a good night and a dance

9/10We used Venus for the first time this year after reading reviews from various sites.
The service and email communication was great, the car was clean and we had no problems with it. They delivered/ collected the car to us at Lourdas for a little extra cost.

10/10 We have just returned from another week at Saoulas. Eleni has improved the bar area over the winter months, with a further addition of a large screen TV.
She is trying to attract bar trade and has opened up the metal steps from the road for easy access. Whilst we were there she had 2 themed nights, one for the football final (Chelsea & Bayer Munich) where she served oven roast chicken in lemon & peppers with potatoes and Greek Salad. The next night was karaoke and bbq, however, the food wasn't cooked on a bbq? That being said there was plenty of it and it was tasty.
The rooms haven't changed at all. They are still cleaned every 2-3 days, bins emptied every other day.
It is still a very clean place and good value for money.
Depending what happens with the Greek economy we hope to return in 2013.
The weather was unfortunately not great this time though!

Kalamari to start, hubby had Pork La Mer, I had Mediterreanean Chicken, very tasty and decent portions.

8/10Not so good this year, sadly.
The place was busy, Liana was dashing around taking orders, the other staff seemed new, and whilst plesant enough poor Liana was having to tell them what to do.
The tzatziki was way to garlicy and the carbonnara bland. The drunken calves liver my hubby had though was superb.

Afrodite and Stathis make you feel most welcome, the food again was gorgeous. Home cooked greek food at its best.
Pork souvlaki, stifado, pizza, club sandwiches all superb!
Not one for anything English whilst abroad, the day we left we had a full English breakfast there, preferring this to airline food. It was great. Bacon, sausage, beans, grilled tomato, mushrooms, two eggs (laid by Afrodites own free range chickens), toast with jam or homemade marmalade (yum!) orange juice, tea/coffee 6 euros and worth every penny.
Stathis has a great sense of humour, we love this couple.

10/10We used Venus again this year. Due to weather not being too good we called Kostas and asked if we could extend the car hire, this was not a problem.
Again, the car was delivered and collected on time and was spotless clean - no problems, a good price.
