Simple and clean room but a shame that we had little to no view (especially being at such a height!). Great service at the pool bar and beautiful views from the pool with a great pool that was cleaned regularly and wasn't too chlorine-y. First Choice should be ashamed of their outrageous mark up on their excursions - you get a much better deal from Etam Travel on the main road. Also, unless you are a pigeon or a marathon walker, it is not 8 mins down to the main road, a leisurely 10-15 and best avoided at any times between 12-5 - too hot, especially for the last bit of hill up the top. Walls are also pretty much paper thin and we seemed to be the only ones who weren't flinging rocks against their balcony at midnight. All in all though, a great base to explore from.
Did a day cruise round Ithaka with Etam Travel (on the main road in Lassi) - 35 euros very well spent as it was a very hot day and great to be on a boat - two swimming stops, a shopping stop and a lunch stop; with much gawping at some of the megayachts parked up round the island. A great day out!
Fantastic locals' beach, very clean, good facilities, so much better than the noisy crowded makros in august. Beautiful and safe turquoise sea. See the signs for Makros and keep walking along the road out of town for a couple of minutes, turn down the entrance for white rocks hotel. Even in August, not too crowded, not many english tourists and very peaceful and relaxing.
They said they were having an off day but it seemed like a bit of conciliatory patter to me, especially after we watched on the next evening from the next restaurant over, as people at Da Veronica were waiting interminably long for their meal again. I'm used to mediterranean times but 45 minutes for calamari and vegetable souvlaki is appalling in comparison to all of the other restaurants we went to in Lassi and the food was very, very average. Add to that a manager who screamed at his staff like Mussolini and suffice to say, we won't be back.
We ate at Trata a couple of days after the comment below and are really surprised by their comment. Our food was superb - great starters of garlic mushrooms in cream sauce and calamari, superb mains of vegetarian mezes and red snapper. Fast service, an Italian star at the next table and a lunar eclipse to boot! Great meal!
We avoided catching the greek singer's eye as she plied the tables but, apart from that, really great food, good ambience, can't fault it!
Went here twice (not something we'd normally do) but the food and ambience really is that good - highly recommend the chicken souvlaki.
Can't give a full comment as we didn't go in - very put off by the awful and loud banging pop music and the huge tv screen, with very few customers, ugh.
Great ambience - like a tiki bar, great hostess, great cocktails, great music, top bar!
