We stayed in Agia Efimia for two weeks in May 2005. We found the resort perfect for our type of holiday, quiet, good food and very friendly locals, so relaxing. Would definatley suggest that you hire a car as you have some of the best scenery and beaches in Kefalonia at your doorstep. We hired a car from the airport for the whole two weeks and saw most of the Island . We stayed at Makis Apartments and found the room clean, if not a little tired, but for a base it was great. Best Restaurant was 'To Steki' very, very tradional, lovely staff and great for people watching.... all in all a fantastic holiday and location.
We loved Fiskardo, so relaxing and classy. We had been warned that prices were expensive and told not eat there but how could you not in such a beautiful setting, we thought prices were pretty much the norm for good tradional Kefalonian food. If your looking for cheap and cheerful your best bet is Skala or Lassi. We thought Fiskardo rocked!!!!
Had family staying in this resort (we stayed in Agia Efimia... lovely) think it would be a good resort for families as the beach is more sand than stone and looked very clean. Your typical beach/pool holiday but didn't feel tacky.
Really nice place to go and visit, wild drive down to it but worth it, the little blue bar/restaurant right at the end of the quay is cheap and tradional... the walk up to the 'fort' is a trek and it's just the wall really (I thought it would be a ruin) but a great walk for stunning views (take plenty of water)
Loved this traditional Restuarant, staff great (say hi to Wendy for us both), the food was stunning (no pizza or burgers in sight), go for about 5 or 6 dishes (mix starters and mains) and then have them serve it all at the same time like Tapas. Spent many a happy night eating, drinking and watching the world go by in this lovely very greek restaurant.
