Just returned from a fab week at Eleni Studios and would like to thank Kostas Alex and Theresa for their fabulous hospitality.   We had a great time.   Apartments basic but very clean and the pool and bar area was spotless.  The hill nearly killed me on the first day after a long journey!!!      How on earth do people walk to the beach???!  I am so glad we had a car!!   Kostas & Co. are the perfect hosts.

Visited here once for dinner and for breakfast.  The food was good and the scenery was superb but had better service in Lourdas and didnt seem overly friendly to newcomers, only their old customers which was obvious to us - nevertheless, the food was lovely and that's the main thing.

 

 

 

Hired a Fiat Punto and wouldnt recommend it for those hills in Lourdas!   But Tasos was great and a good host.    I think he got sick of waving to us everytime we drove past when we were lost!!  Sorry Tasos!!  Ha Ha!! 

 

I am only saying about the car because if you are not sure what car to get when making your choice, I personally wouldnt recommend a Punto for Lourdas, I would hire something with a bit more oomph in it.  

 

We came across the Crystal Palace by accident (after being told by our Rep that it didnt exist!!!) and it was great - the Spaghetti Marinara was to die for!! Yum Yum!!   Lovely and peaceful location.    Food was great and so was the service.  Very friendly. Thoroughly recommend.

 

 

We visited the Spiros on our last night and wished we had gone more often - it was lovely.   The location was really nice and my husband and son had the Kefalonian Meat pie (shared with my 11 month old daughter) and they all loved it.   It was a great place to go and very friendly.

 

Awful.  Didnt stay but the little restaurant was good and worth a visit for lunch.

 

We had dinner and breakfast at the Klimatis and it was great.   Breakfast was one of the best we had in Kefalonia and they were one of the few restaurants that had a decent highchair for our daughter!   Lovely sitting under the grape vines.    

 

Thoroughly recommend.

 

 

 

Thought Skala beach was a lovely beach.   We stayed in Lourdas for one week but drove here twice as we liked it so much.   There was an outbreak of jelly fish on our second visit which put our 12 year old off from going in the sea and we did hear that a little girl had been stung and when you looked along the coast line, there was no one in the sea  at the time but I dont think it lasted too long.  Enjoy.
