We ate here twice. The reception was good and as Costas grew up in America, the service was excellent. The food was acceptable, the Pizzas were tasty but the bases could be rock hard.
The chicken was fine and the home made chips with herbs were wonderful. The swordfish was well prepared and cooked to perfection.
The outdoor flowers attracted a lot of flying creatures and cats wandered around your feet all night. If you like cats this is fine but we would have prefereed that they weren't there.
The Karaoke nights were fun and Jayne the barmaid was a perfect hostess.
The food here was superb. We ate a few times and had a variety of dishes. Everything was tasty, hot and well prepared. The owner is a girl from Market Drayton married to a local so there was a good mix of authentic food and ease of ordering.
The service was good and everything was clean.
The owners children played with ours whilst the food was being prepared which they all enjoyed.
I can echo the comment re the Garlic mash - it is VERY strong - but nice.
The views were great as you could watch the sun set and you could see over the sea.
Our personal favourite.
Ammes Beach
The beach was clean and the sunbeds were reasonably priced and comfortable.
There is only a small slope from the road that is concreted to the beach and this was fine.
There is plenty of car parking nearby.
The planes are very low as the start of the runway is 20 M from the end of the beach. They were very noisy but you only heard them when they were very close and there weren't too many flights per day.
The beach sloped gently in to the sea and there was a long shelf of sand that was shallow enough to be safe for the children.
Al Helis beach
This was a little more off the beaten track but was still busy.
There are two small carparks nearby and the walk to the beach was easy enough.
There are over 60 steps down that are clean and well spaced. The beach was clean and had a good bar with lots of shade, although it could be expensive.
The beach was part of a large cove which is very picturesque.
The planes were too far away to be noisy.
There seem to be two resident dogs that wandered around all day looking for shade and titbits of food.
Fiskardo is beautiful. There wee some amazing back streets and things to see.
If you go you MUST go to Tassia's resteraunt. We were reccomended to go here as the owner is a Greek TV chef.
The food was superb. We all ate a seafood dish and the Sea Bass was the best we have ever eaten. The Prawns were the biggest I have ever seen and were succulent, sweet and tasty. Nothing was over done in the way of spices or herbs and the real flavours came through. The service was good and it is worth buying her book as it is not only a good cookbook but also a good history of the Island and Fiskadro itself.
The appartments were typically Greek. They were very basic.
However, all we needed was a clean bathroom, a clean kitchen 2 clean wardrobes and 4 clean comfortable beds. And that is precisely what we got.
We had a nice balcony with a sea view which was THE place to eat breakfast.
The maid was very thorough and the room was spotless.
A word of warning - all you are provided with is a hand towel each, so take a big towel or two with you.
The owners were freindly and we managed to chatter in my very basic Greek and their just as basic English. They are a lovely family who were keen to make your stay comfortable.
There are two hotels within easy walks with pools you can use and the beach was very close, as was g really good resteraunt.
We would go back.
