We hired our car again this year from Antonis at Greekstones after we hired one last year after reading the good comments on this website.  Antonis is excellent and actually recognised us as we walked past his place on our first night there.  He is a very friendly man and the service they provide here is exceptional. 

Antonis is a really funny man   Oh and the service was excellent too! Highly recommend

 Just returned from Skala, our first visit to Kefalonia. We hired a little yellow Atos ( we named it Noddy!) via email for 4 days, Anthony and Maria were very helpful and genuinely friendly. Can't fault the service, the car was delivered promptly at our apartment by Maria. She gave us very good advice regarding the roads and resorts on the island.  We went into Greekstones the day before our car was due to be collected to book it for an extra day, no problem, Anthony and Maria greeted and treated us like old friends. We will use Greekstones again next year when we go back for another visit. Keep up the good work Guys!

Nice people, good service! We hired a little Fiat Seicento with a full lenghth electric sun-roof which was ideal for touring the island.

Had a Jimny for 2 weeks from Skala office. Antonis is a great bloke and the service he gives can't be faulted as far as we are concerned. Great discounts for existing customers and really good vehicles. Full insurance included in the quote. Excellent.

Antonis is a star our suziki Jimny was clean and ready to go on time and the help he gives everyone with tips is excellent.
Will be using them again and again in the future.

Have to agree with everyone else Antonis was very helpful and friendly and we only hired a car for a day but thereafter everytime he saw us he would wave and come over and shake our hands and ask us if we had had a good day and what our plans were and the day we left he shook our hands again and seemed genuinly sorry to see us go

We had great service here from Antoni and we would definitely use his service again. The car was delivered promptly and his service was great. He gave us loads of info on the island and told us of best places to visit and also useful infor like petrol stations and places to park in the capital. We will definitely use him again if we vist next year, booking him on the internet as its cheaper and picking rh car up from the airport which will be useful to us

Antonis - second time we have met this guy, last time we were in Skala he was a waiter in one of the tavernas nothing was too much trouble for him then. When we revisited in June this year no matter how busy he is he always make time & treats people like we should all treat other people. The guy is 10/10 & his car hire business is top rate very helpful knows all the right places to go and will go the extra distance to help his customers. Good stuff Antonis keep going it will all pay off in the end.

We have just come back from a 2 week stay in Skala and went to Greekstones to hire a car after reading reviews here. Antonis was very friendly and helpful andgave us a further discount when we mentioned we were on honeymoon! He told us about some sandy beaches and so we went to Avythos on our last day of hiring the car and it was beautiful. We went back to see him later in our holiday and asked if we could hire a car for 1 day to return to the beach. Most other companies won't do this, but even though he was extremely busy Antonis sorted us with a car and we went to collect it at 10pm so we had it for the whole next day. Top marks for service and we will be using Greekstones again when we return to Skala next year.

Antonis. Wat can we say. An excellent guy with a great sense of humour. Will always give you time and have you in stitches. We hired a Hyundai Atos, pre booked by E-Mail. The car was excellent, and so was Maria who delivered it to our hotel, exactly on time. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. We would always recommend this company. Thank you Antonis (It's all Greek to me!!!!)

Just come back from a week in Skala, having hired a car from Greekstones. I cannot recommend them enough. We booked in advance and the service from then on to giving the car back was excellent. Prompt response to emails by Mellis, car dilevered by Antonys who is a thoroughly decent guy. If you want piece of mind and personal service - use nobody else.

GOOD FIRM TO DEAL WITH PROMPT DELIVERY OF CAR. THE LADY THAT DELIVERD THE CAR TOLD ME MORE ABOUT THE ISLAND THAN THE TOUR REP.WOULD DEAL WITH AGAIN.

We were there in june 2003 tried various car hire companies on Antonis advice, but went back as this guy was so genuine. I had forgotten my drivers licence and even that was no problem to him gave him my details, and 24 hours later i was able to book a car.
Air con is a must though, and a strong nerve on some of the higher roads, and as every one seems to say if you need advice on where to go just ask Antonis. I would not hesitate to book with this company again in my opinion absolutly superb. David&Jill Holder

Hired Atos for 12 days in oct 2003. Antonys was superb,told us what to see and how to get there etc. He always had time to talk or help. Compared price of 'jimmy' with First Choice & Greekstones. Greekstones was 90e cheaper for 1 week.

Couldnt fault them, great car, great price and service, the owner is a star.

THE GUY WHO RUNS GREEKSTONES IS THE TOP BLOKE ON KEFALONIA.HIS NAME IS ANTONIS.HE WAS SO HELPFUL,FUNNY AND FRIENDLY,HE TOLD US WHAT TO SEE AND WHAT NOT TO SEE.HIRED A CAR FIRSTLY FOR 3 DAYS AND THEN WENT BACK FOR ONE MORE DAY.ALL THE CARS WERE BOOKED OUT APART FROM ONE,EVEN IF HE HADN'T GOT A CAR AVAILABLE HE SAID I COULD BORROW HIS VAN.WHICH I THOUGHT WAS QUITE AMUSING.

We had an Altos - which was perfect for the island. Easy to park
and managed hairpin bends. Sometimes a bit underpowered -
we thought that there were actually half a dozen Koreans under
the bonnet at one stage. But it kept going and got us out of some
v tight spots! Remember to turn in wing mirrors when you park -
or they might not be there when you get back. Book on internet
for discount. Very helpful staff - full cover included.

Once again first class and friendly service from Antonis and his team. Thoroughly recommended but book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Pre-booked via internet. Clean car as specified was delivered exactly on time to the hotel with knowledgeable staff. Had minor accident and Antonis attended to sort details very quickly and efficiently. "Full insurance" turned out to be exactly that.
Very confident in recommending to anyone wanting a friendly personal service at good price.

We found Greekstones to be the best place for car hire, friendly helpfull staff, nice clean new cars, and the price was very competative.

Our hire car,a new Matiz, was perfect. We did 700 miles in 10 days in great comfort and without any problems. Antonys was really helpful and friendly. He gave us a map and pointed out all the interesting places to visit. We dropped in a few times to verify directions, and he was always pleased to see us. We hired a car in Skala last week (7-10th May 2003)The car was clean & in excellent condition. (unlike the roads). Air conditioning is a must,don't save a few euros and miss out on the comfort.
We found Antonis was a better guide to Kefalonia than the travel reps! (and more fun too!)

I recommend this company for a good deal and friendly service.

For anyone trying to pre-book their car hire, we e-mailed three local companies in January to get a quote on a 4x4 for 14 days in July. The first response back was after just 7 days (not bad for out of season) from CBR Rent-a-car (Contact: Andreas Pefanis in Argostoli (other offices in Skala, Lassi & Lourdas) Tel: +30 (26710) 22770 Fax: +30 (26710) 24552 E-mail: cbr1@otener.gr). CBR quoted €850 for a Vitara (discounted from €950). Next in was a reply from Greekstones Rent a Car (Contact: Menalaos Antoniou in Svoronata (other office in Skala) Tel: +30671042201 Fax: +30671042202 E-mail: info@greekstones-rentacar.com). Greekstones quoted €690 for a Jimny, which we accepted. Sunbird came back a week later at €10 cheaper (Contact: Antonis Kastanas in Argostoli (other offices in Svoronata, Poros, Sami, Skala, Lassi & Lourdas) Tel: +30 2671023723 Fax: +30 2671025484 E-mail: info@sunbird.gr). All the prices seem considerably more expensive than when we paid €420 in for a 4x4 for 2 weeks in Santorini last year, whilst all the companies offered free delivery and collection to/from Lourdas. However, since booking with him, ‘Melis’ from Greekstones has telephoned us at home to thank us for our order and respond to our request to confirm that the vehicle is a soft top (excellent written and spoken English), and we have just received an unsolicited e-mail from him promising a free tank of petrol on arrival, so he wins on service.

The car was almost brand new Hyundai Atos Handled very well on the mountain roads and had air-con. Will book with them again this year Unsure whether it was power steering or just my arms nervously turning on some of the higher roads

Very helpful and friendly service. Antonys and Maria are an excellent comedy double act.

Excellent service from Antonias and Maria. They are very freindly and welcoming. We found that we were always welcome to pop in for a coffee at anytime.

Antonis is a top bloke and he will do you a fair deal. Vehicles are good standard.
