Hired a Hyundai Atos for 2 weeks in July 2004 and nearly spun it on the road between sovenata and Lassi !! The roads are pretty bad in greece and this bend is notorius aparently ; the road goes up then down but bears left with negitive camber and all the sand doen't help. My Wife was not impressed!
We hired our Atos from Greekstones in Skala in October 2005. The car was great, gets up the hills well and takes corners well. Because of its size, it is also easy to park.
We hired our Atos from Greekstones in Sovoronata, who were first class for information about the island and how to see all we wanted within the time limit we had. We called our atos our " little bowl of custard " we did Fiscardo,Assos,Scala,Lixouri,Aghia Efemia, and this little car performed very well. Kefalonia is a beautiful island and we will return soon
Who wants a big car on those roads?
The Atos did all I asked it to do
Nice little car
We hired ours from Sunbird which we would recommend
THIS CAR WAS IDEAL FOR ME AS I,M 6FT 5 " YOU MUST MAKE SURE YOU GET AIRCONDITIONING IN YOUR HIRE CAR OR YOU,LL BE SUFFERING AS IT GETS BOILING IN THE CAR IF YOU HAVEN,T. ALTHOUGH NOT THE MOST POWERFUL CAR IT STILL MANAGED TO GET US UP AND ALL THE MOUNTAINS AND DIRT TRACKS.
Small engined car , easily accomodates 4 adults. Copes well with the roads of kefalonia where you can rarely get out of 3rd gear!! WE hired ours from Greekstones and got a great deal for 2 weeks.
We have a very soft spot for this car, "The Milk Float" It was too high on the steering wheel to be relaxed, it had little power for the hills and the gearing was wrong. We could never find a gear that was consistently right for the terrain, lots of searching for the power. Having said that we had enormous fun in it and talk about it often. We see a couple locally at home and the meories come flooding back. This is a car you can never fall asleep in whilst driving, it certainly keeps you busy!
This is one of the most common rental cars on the island. The tall body creates a lot of interior space while the small exterior dimensions make it easy to drive about. It's comfortable and quite decent to drive, although I had an older model which didn't have PAS which made it hard work on the numerous hairpin bends. Newer models may well have this as standard so it's worth asking.
