After holidays half and full board we decided the best way is self catering. This year we visited Kefalonia and we stayed at the Lefteris Village Lassi I did not care for the resort of Lassi but I did like this accommodation. So what did I like about this place Hospitality is number one here with the owner Lefteris is available every day as well as the manager he also visits the bar from about 8pm until midnight not bad for a man that seldom takes a drink but he feels it is important to be their for his guest. This is family run and the new bar is run by his three daughters. I have to admit I have seldom met a man like Lefteris and we soon became friends. All the staff speaks good English with the exception of the cleaner who is great and responds to Hi and a smile I have to say she is the best cleaner I have known in my years of holidaying. The pool is immaculate. I have to be honest I cannot fault

My partner & I went to Lefteris apartments in August 6th 2005 & we loved it! The views are amazing both from the balconys & the pool. It is at the top of a very still steep hill so if your not an avid walker it may put you off, but wasn't as bad as what we were expecting. The pool area was spotlessly clean, quiet & picturesque, some days we had the pool to ourselves. Plenty of sun loungers although only a few umbrellas. Apartments weren't the ritz but, catered for all of our needs. Cheryl was very friendly & will call a cab should you need one & it didn't seem to matter where you went it only cost 5 euro! We recommend eating at La Gondola & Captains Table, excellent food & service at great prices. This was our 2nd visit to Kefalonia & we would urge anyone that goes to visit Kalamia beach! You can find this secluded beach off of Fanari road, down a hill. Lovely old man in his beach hut does the best fruit salad ever. We would rate Kefalonia 100%. Enjoy it for yourselves.

Can't agree with the 2 reviews from june/july. We have just had 2 great weeks in Kef, returned 9th Aug. Yes its in an elevated position...you wouldn't get the brilliant views otherwise would you. Lassi 10 mins walk as is Argostoli if you take the short cut down to the Hospital, then left and 2nd right straight down to the harbours edge and bridge. Get a taxi back, 5 euro from anywhere and your on holiday aren't you! Sheets and towels changed 4 times so 5 sets over the holiday period and bins emptied daily. Oh, and the cleaner hoovers like her life depends on it. Owner Cheryl cannot be more helpful, she will try to do anything for anyone. Maybe its because we've been to Greece on many occasions so we know what to expect, like the musky smell from wooden kitchen cupboards and drainage that works slower than the taps/shower output. To us its part of the fun and much better than being anything like the typical brit egg & chip brigade that have ruined so many other holiday destinations. Looking forward to returning to Kef again in October.

| We were at Lefteris the same time as Denise Twydell (see previous review) and we agree with her comments. Our apartment was not clean, the floor was dirty and dusty, and the shower curtain needed to be condemned, however the bedding and towels were clean and changed mid week, and the bins emptied daily. The kitchen was well equipped but planned badly, kettle and toaster both needed to be perched on edge of work surface in order to reach sockets, beware if you have little ones!!
The pool and patio area was beautiful and clean, but not enough sunbeds and umbrellas. Be prepared to take own food and drinks as no pool bar and nearest supermarket 20 mins walk.
We were warned about the walk to Lassi, it is a very steep hill, but we found it became easier as week went on. The walk is worth it for the scenery, look out for the deer. We found walking to Argostoli easier via Lassi rather than the main road which is extremely busy and narrow in places.
We enjoyed eating at La Gabbiana in Lassi, Italian but caters for all, and reasonably priced.
Kefalonia is definitely worth visiting, be prepared for earth tremors!

After reading lots of recommendations here regarding Lefteris Village I decided to book. People had commented on how clean the apartments were but to be honest they were dirty when we arrived and they stayed that way all week. Our room was not cleaned at all, although the bins were emptied daily, and we had clean linen and towels only once. At times we had no water at all. The pool area was nice, however there were not enough beds for all the guests, and only 3 or 4 umbrella's. The air conditioning is now 25 euros, so much more than last year's 10 euros.
The walk was as we expected so no complaints there, nice walk down, get a cab back, its far too hot to walk up in the day, and at night the cabbies drive like nutters! The road running next to the apartments is quite busy and noisy. Also (and no fault of the apartments) there is some building work going on about 5/10 minutes walk away and during the morning there was a lot of hammer/drilling noise which if you had a balcony overlooking the bay was quite noisy, so don't expect it to be peaceful!
The views over Argostoli are great, and you get a nice breeze around the pool at times.

A very lovely appartment block with stunning views across Argostoli bay. Very clean, very quiet. The only drawback is that it is situated at the top of a very steep hill, so car hire is a must (you don't want to be walking up that baby when the temperature is 30 degrees plus!). Highly recommended, in fact we specifically book these appartments each time we holiday in Kefalonia.

| We returned yesterday from Lefteris. It was our first visit to anywhere in Greece so we were a little apprehensive...no need! Cheryl and her daughters looked after everything in a friendly way and the Olympic Holidays rep Karen was excellent. Our 1-bedroomed flat had a bath with shower and curtain, loads of wardrobe space with hangers, a huge terrace with those stunning views over Argostoli and adequate cooking utensils (I don't cook on holiday but it was fine for breakfast and the occasional lunch) The fridge was modern with an efficient freezer compartment and the air conditioning a bargain at 10 euros for the week. The bins were emptied daily, bedlinen changed midway through our week's stay and the apartment was swept out at the same time.
The location wasn't perfect in that the steep hill made it essential to either hire a car (which we did anyway, wanting to see the island) or to take a taxi, at least for the uphill run! But the views were to die for! The main road below the terrace and the local cockerels and crickets going on all night made it a bit noisy - but it was certainly quieter than being in a flat above a resort-centre bar - and we soon got used to it. With the air-con we could close the double-glazed windows and shut out the noise anyway.
We had some good meals out, especially at Da Veronica and La Gondola. The Chinese Dragon (on the Fanari road) was good but pricey. Watch out everywhere for the 1 euro per person cover charge which is added to your bill. Most restaurants offer free bread and/or water on your table but beware the odd place that adds a charge to the bill for it(especially those on the main square in Argostoli)
All in all we felt it was good value for money and recommend Lefteris if you like a no frills base away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts.

Fantastic Apartments, perfect for those people wanting peace and quiet just outside the main areas of lassi and Argostoli. The apartment was clean and above greek general standards, even having a shower curtain !!. The Air conditioning was excellent, brand new in fact and only cost 10 Euros per week. Cheryl, the lady who runs the apartments was excellent and very helpful, she was around most of the time and lives onsite.I would recomend a car because the position is somewhat elevated, but that is a plus because the views are fantastic. We hired a car through the internet with Express car hire in Lassi and they delivered the car to us on our first morning,on time, and collected it on our last day without any trouble at all.
For meals we eat all over Lassi ansd Argostoli and didnt have a bad meal, we particularily enjoyed the Captains table on the harbour front because the greek food was excellent and very friendly service, we paid about 32 Euros for starter, main course and litre of house wine with water.
