Fiona Aparthotel - (Accommodation in Lourdas)

Nick B  (15 September 2006)

Fiona Appartments were just as we expected and typical of Greek accomodation. They were basic, just enough for two people, but very clean and fantastic views from the balcony. No safety deposit boxes or reception which worried us originally, but this was never a problem, very safe area. Staff at pool bar very friendly and good service. Food was nice there, apart from the one time my girlfriend ordered a club snadwhich and it had a few of the cooks hairs in it...sharing peole the Greeks!! But apart from that not a problem at all. Only walked to Lourdas beach one night to see how far it was, and it is a steep hill and would not do it in day time. Trapazaki beach was further, but much nicer beach, so only did this one when we hired a car...a must for this resort. Overall very nice.

Myrtos Beach - (Beaches in Kefalonia)

Nick B

Very beautuful beach and stunning to look at. Water was warm and beautiful colour, although it does have a bit of a current and can be hard to get out of. Is a mixture of sand and pebbles and the pebbles so hurt your feet. A must for a day trip.

Lourdas Resort - (Resorts in Kefalonia)

Nick B

Nice quiet resort, typical of small little towns in Greece, couple of supermarkets, plenty of places to eat and a few quiet bars to drink in. No nightlife so not the place if you want to go clubing. But nice lace to chill out and a good place to see the rest of the island from. Beaches are nice, but require a car unless you want to walk up hill for 25 mins on the way back (which is not all that bad really).

La Mer Restaurant - (Restaurants in Lourdas)

Best place we eat at in Lourdas. Excellent food and service, great view. Not at cheap as some but well worth the few Euro's extra. Kalamari was the best we have ever tasted and lamb dishes were melt in the mouth stuff.

Olympic Holidays - (Tour Operators in Kefalonia)

Olumpic were great. We stayed at Fiona appartments, which were basic but you get what you pay for! Rep was always there to see if you needed anything and did not bother you if you were not interested in any excursions. Very happy and smiley.

Airport transfers were ok, airport reception was good. Airport itself is samll, but once bags are checked in you can go sit outside for that last bit of sunshine before you have to go through passport control. Fligths were very good.

Spiros Restaurant - (Restaurants in Lourdas)

Nick B

Food was a bit hit and miss. Kalamari was obviously not freash and was like something you bought out of a supermarked freezer section. But main meals were good, just like home cooked. Did have to wait nearly an hour one night for our starters, but it was very busy. Some staff are plesant and Spiros was great, but do get the odd one with a face like a smacked....you know what I mean.

Price reflects the food and most people I spoke to really enjoyed it, but was not my favourite.
