After receiving a recommendation from some fellow guests at the Asteris we headed to Aquarius on our last night. We had what we expected to be a bruschetta type starter - it was foul. It literally left a bad taste in our mouths and consisted mainly of a bread I could not place and would not want to taste again. My main, which was the Lamb stamnaki ws much better althoguh my girlfriends rissotto was bland. I would go back as I think we may have made a duff selection but overall I was disappointed on this visit.
Being one of the biggest restaurants in the resort I was a little sceptical as to the quality here but we tried it as there were good vegetraian options for my girlfriend. Although very busy they found us a nice table underneath a fan and we were quickly served with lovely bread and fresh water. Starters were very good and the main course was even better. I had a chicken souvlaki which was top notch and my gielfriend loved her veggie lasagne. The dessert we wanted was not available but none the less we had a great meal here and I was wrong to dimiss it. Recomended!
It was out second visit to Skala and our 2nd visit to the Grill. This is by far the best greek food we found in the resort. It's a simple place but the food is wonderful. I had the pitcher of meatballs this time and it was the best thing I ate all week. Everything is fresh and you can even see them preparing the food. The greek salad, houmous and cheese pies were also the best we tasted while in Skala. Added to this the fact that it was also one of the cheapest meals we ate I have to rate this my No.1 restaurant of our trip.
