The apartments were very clean and quite well equiped.  The pool was also very clean and a "pool boy" attended daily to keep it that way.  However Napoleon seemed to be experiencing staff shortages and was trying to run the bar and reception single handly at the same time.  During our second week the bar would be closed for an hour or more during the day without any notice because Napoleon had to go somewhere and there was nobody else to look after the place.  Also he opened up the bar later and later during our second week there.  Sometimes not opening until gone noon. Napoleon does not live on the premises and there is no one there after he closes the bar at night.  This could be a problem if you experienced an emergency. The apartments are great if you are in good health, it is a steep climb up the hill from the town, but a taxi from the rank only costs four Euros.  Napoleon you have a great place but you cannot do it all, you need to employ some extra staff.

A great restauraunt offering a varied menu and a daily special.  As an alternative to the usual chips this place served excellent roast potatoes, or you could have salads, rice or jacket potato.  Good food and reasonably priced.  Try it but also try our favourite restauraunt The Pines. 

The Pines is definitely the best restaurant in Skala.  Excellent menu and friendly service.  Some of the wines were a little more expensive than in other restaurants but you can still choose wisely from an extensive wine list or just drink the house wine.  The owner and all the staff always made you feel welcome whether it was your first visit or if you were a “regular”.  After food I always judge a place by its toilets and the automatic seat cleaner in The Pines has to be seen to be believed.  Try some of then other restaurants so that you have an idea of what the competition has to offer and then try the best, The Pines.

Excellent value for money.  It looks all trendy and so you might think that it is going to be expensive but the drinks are reasonably priced.  Try it you may like it!
