We have just returned from a week in Eleni Studios where we had a wonderful time. The studios are basic but very clean (which is more important than gadgets in our book) and all have a fantastic view. Listen out for the strangled cockrell though (so funny as it crows at random times and not necessarily on a morning!). The food was so good at the Eleni Studios that we only ate away from there one evening, a few others staying there at the same time had tried other places and they didn't come up to Costas' standard.
Costas and Alex were the perfect hosts who were very keen to please all the guests. The only negative thing I can say about the apartments is the hill to get either down or up to them. They are in the middle of a very steep road. After the first day or so you get used to that and the views are worth it. Its quite a walk to the nearest beach but Trapezaki beach is worth the walk. Lourdata beach is not too good but has more tavernas etc there, but yet again there's the steep walk up hill to get back to the apartments.
Gordon and I are hoping to return, meeting up with the new friends we made at Eleni Studios next year. Best wishes to Costas & Alex for the future.
This was the second time we used Kosmar. The reps were great - very helpful. Our tickets were issued extremely late this year (2 days before our Sunday flight) due to flights being brought forward, only to find that one the way out it was delayed by 30 minutes (due to a passenger rather than Kosmar or Airline) and on the way back was delayed by about 50 minutes. The return delay was purely down to the airport but we were warned about this well in advance. The reps did their best to sort things out but Kefalonia Airport needs a kick up the backside as far as organisation goes. It still wouldn't put me off going back to Kefalonia so it cannot have been that bad. Our rep Emma was fabulous, not pushy with the excursions, but making sure that everyone knew when she would be around and how to get help if she wasn't available. Excellent job Emma.
We found Trapezaki beach to be one of the best on the island. It may not have been the best to look at but the beach was real sand and the water shallow for a long way out which meant it would be ideal for children to play in.
We thought this beach was beautiful, great for sunbathing, but a bit too pebbled for kids to play on, though some were there when we were. The sea is quite a task to get into but once there well worth it. The sea was calm and very cooling considering it was very hot on the beach. We loved it and would recommend to other adults. By the way - don't use the portaloos as they are disgusting.
