Has probably the best view of Ag Efimia from the pool bar and is almost as good from the restaurant area.Visited most days and eat main meals twice.Had swordfish steak which was excellent being very moist and not dry;had Stefado the other occasion which was also good(But not the best).Free sweet/fruit on both occasions.
The advert outside says "voted the best in Kefalonia".All I can say is I dread to think what they thought of the others.Went with friends we had made for their last meal before returning home.I ordered swordfish in sauce but they only had souvalaki which I settled for. This consisted of about 4 postage stamp pieces surrounded by green/red peppers and tomato. It came with chips and a "mound" of a cold substance which was a cross between potato/sandwhich spread.Rates as one of the worse meals ever eaten in Greece. The other 3 meals were just as bad!None were finished.
Not open at first, ate twice. The first was rabbit which was a bit tasteless but otherwise OK.The second meal was cod which again was average, this came with a cold garlic mash potato which was not very nice.Perhaps if it had been warmer(We ate at 9.0pm-freezing cold)it may have tasted better.
Ate twice here, the first time had chicken souvalaki. This was very good with large pieces of tender chicken. The second meal was Kleftica which was very disappointing. This came in a brown dish and covered in cheese(Salty)and is the standard mass produced variety which is now unfortunately appearing all over the Greek Islands.
Not open at first, the "grand" opening being delayed.Had Kalamari here which was very good being large pieces(Not rings)and tenticles which were very tender not at all rubbery.
Ate here once having Stefado which although not the best one I had could not be faulted.
Stayed here for two weeks and could not fault them. There is a two ringed cooker but we never actually got to switch it on!Cleaners were in every day, sheets changed after 4 and then 5 nights, towels most days.Had two "little owls" roosting on the roof of the house opposite.
Transfer depends where the coach occupants are going. It took over 2 hours from the airport but much less going back as few pickups.
Situated above the Sail Bar opposite the jetty.Ate there with my wife and 2 friends when 3 of us had Kleftica, all they had-always a good sign when limited quantity which suggests they are not mass produced and kept in the freezer. They came properly cooked in grease proof paper, meat on the bone together with potatos,vegetables-brilliant.My wife had Kalamari which passed the test.Free honey/yoghurt.Second time my wife had the Kleftica-again brilliant.I had grilled Swordfish which could not be faulted.Free mini Baklavas this time. Also excellent wine.
Had a good two weeks here but it was very windy most of the time.It made it very chilly most nights, especially when eating out. There are enough bars/tavernas to last with a change most nights. It was quiet most of the time, but there is some building work where they have to drill out the rock! Not very good for walking as you can really only go in one direction towards Sami.
There are several small beaches here with pebbles. If you walk into Sami(9kms) you pass several others of varying size and there is a much larger one this side of Sami which has some sand. There is also a small lake right next to the sea here, complete with ducks and geeseand a broken water wheel.
A few places were offering money exchange but there is a bank with a bank machine so I used that.
The two flights were on time and the transfers OK.It took longer going as there were a few more drop-offs before ours-we were last!A lot quicker going back meant an extra hour in the resort. The reps were alright but the girl who covered our resort,Agia Efimia did not know any local information(Bus times, taxi prices, where to walk etc)but she had only been there 2 weeks.Offered 4 trips but the only one we wanted did not start for another 4 weeks!!We wanted to keep our room but we found it easier to deal direct with the owners who live on the premises, had to change room but they did not want paying.Check-in was protracted due to the fact that most Greek airports now have ONE X-Ray machine where you have to put your luggage through, everyone using this machine. As the plane was on time it did mean only a short time in departures.
