We stayed in the apartments above restaurant and always found this place gr8 to eat at...whether for lunch (as its steps from the sea)
and doesnt disturb the sun worshipping for too long :O)
or for dinner, the food is freshly prepared, good wines, gr8 service
and nice location etc...
recommend the platters for starters,all local dishes ((sampled))
and wooppeee NOT a chip in sight...

We holidayed in Poros at the beginning of the season 2003 and from the moment we stepped into The Cactus bar we knew it was going to be a regular occurance during our stay...Mandy & nick are by far 2 of the nicest people we have met anywhere abroad.
We would recommend the cocktails early evening (HAPPY HOUR)
The cactus juice is really good ! Alternatively asking Mandy/Nick for a Maxine Special ( with a wink ) I am sure will raise a smile :O)
The food here is excellent also, breakfast is gr8 and Nick whips up a mean lunch also..try the hot platters with some local stuff.
We had made good friends with Mandy & Nick by the time we had left and will be in contact with them from now on...oh by the way we did leave that at 7am one morning and Nick then went on to work all that day til 3am the next morning unaffected ( so it seemed ) now thats what i call a bar owner !
We usually left there between 1/3am but were always reluctant because the welcome is so warm.
They treat all of there customers as friends and I can see why people return year after year :O)
DO NOT MISS THIS BAR...WHILE HOLIDAYING IN KEFALONIA..
