Katelios Taverna

Illias, Sadie, Sarah &  Spiros thanks again for making our holiday so special. We come to Katelios for the peace, sun, beach and good food .... and you may have noticed we didnt stray so you definitly supplied the latter to our taste. The Giant Shrimp dish was my wifes favourite and that must have been obvious the fourth time she ordered it. Mine was the Sea Bass, and the 'oven potatoes' which I had to have with every meal they are so tasty like no where else has equalled. Kleftico, the lamb just melted in the mouth. A great meal at the end of each tranquil day we had there... what else could one want out of a holiday.
We really looked forward to it and thanks to your superb cooking lived up to our expectations. And you welcome everyone like we are your extended family. It was great seeing Spiro (now 8 months old) sit up in his buggy for the first time, and how proud his Dad is. Lovely family!
We hope to come back next year, so all being well we will see you all again then.

Returned home 17th July 2011 -The Best Taverna in Katelios. Food excellent, Service the best in the World, The staff and owners the nicest people anyone would ever wish to meet. Come to Katelios every year for 20 years. Since Katelios Taverna opened we eat almost every day and night there! Full English Breakfast and any kind of food from Wraps to salads and sandwiches to icecream and yogurt, full meals such as Beef Stamina, Lamb Kleftico amd even a selection of oriental food, the sweets are to die for!!Its just the best, Thanks again your good friends Carole and Ronnie XX

Just Returned from Katelios on the 4th July 2011. Had a great time in Kefalonia, our sixth visit to this beautiful island. The visit is only completed by eating at the Katelios Taverna. Ilias, Sadie, Sarah and Ian, along with their familes and fab chef make you feel so welcome and at home. The food is the best in Katelios- and yes we have tried the other taverna's- albeit only on our first visit, as once we found Katelios Taverna, we did not want to go anywhere else! The setting is fantastic and all this is only made better by Ilias, his mum and dad, Sadie, Sarah, Ian and the fab chef. Of course, there is now one other member of staff, lovely baby Spiro. Congratulations to Ilias and Sadie.

Everyone visiting Katelios must visit the Katelios Taverna.

Illias, Sadie, Spiros thank you for your hospitality on our holiday Sept 2010. Lovelest down to earth, friendly people you could wish to meet. They not only serve your every need but treat you almost as family. Tried out some other tavernas but none matched their friendlyness. Illias you will probly remember me as the guy who lost his appartment keys and I just want to say a thank you to you and all your staff, for the service and wonderful background info you told us.
We have already booked for next year (huge key chain included this time lol)

Hoping Taverna will still be open as we hope to enjoy hospitality at Katelios Taverna this year week commencing 3rd October. Food and hospitality A1 but we missed it in 2009 as we took our holiday late October and restaurant was closed. However, we did see Papa Spiro who confirmed everyone was well.

We have just come back from Katelios, which we fell in love with, quiet, simple, no noise, no fuss, fabulous.

Returning yet again, looking forward to Katelios superb cooking and hospitality. Egg mayonnaise salad must not be missed, and Papa Spiro's roast pork is be tasted to believe. Peter & Maureen

First of all what a delight to go to a taverna in september and to be able to get exactly what you ask for and,if necessary ,adjusted to suit your own taste.Have no doubt that there are better restaurants in Greece ,but one would have to search very hard to find honest to good Greek taverna fare of such quality,served by the most pleasant of people,in excellent portion size.From Kalimari in the best batter you could wish,superb sea bass cooked to perfection,and the best liver and onions .pastisio and super lunchtime snacks,aaaah so much food so little time.Have booked for next year so will look forward to working my way through the menu.Thanks to you all.

After four years eating in Katelios we know where to go next week when we return.

Second year running we have eaten here every night. We were a party of 15, Sadie, Ilias & Nikki were brilliant, not to mention Mama & Papa Spiros. Food excellent, will certainly be returning next year.

A matter of opinion I know but quite simply the best in Katelios.  Excellent food, excellent service and not as outrageously expensive as some places along the front.

The food here was really good, even homemade beef burgers, dont normally eat this type of thing but these were great for lunch. Evening meals good food, only downside, they know they are good and dont give you the attention that you need, to order drinks etc and you feel like that they dont really care if you were there or not. Ate there a few time and would go back. If they improved the service it would be great

Just got back from a week in Katelios and I cannot praise the Katelios Taverna enough.  Both food and sevice were excellent.  The staff were freiendly and attentive and every meal we had there was wonderful, particularly the "Beef Stamna", the house wine was, in my humble opinion, superb, especially when compared to the overpriced vinegar that passes for house wine her in the UK.  My wife and I will be visiting again in September and the Katelios will be our first port of call!

The food was  excellent both breakfast and evening meals.  Ellia and Sadie and all his staff made you feel really welcome and at home.  Thank you all
