Just got back from the Zephyros and wasn't disappointed, the rooms were clean, the beds were great best nights sleep ever in greece!!,and the air con was spot on too.Andreas and his wife were very nice and plesant, the pool was great and in the day was very quiet you couldn't here a pin drop sometimes, the only downfalls no fans in the eating area's,wasp's were a pain sometimes, and there's only so much cheese and ham you can eat in the mornings,in other words less said about the breakfasts the better!!,you have about a ten minute walk in the evening to get to the main street, and about 15 mins to get back, unless you get a taxi which on the last night we did at a cost of 5 euro's,all other guests were friendly including some germans so no probs with this one!
Have stayed here twice a year since this hotel was opened. We are made welcome all the time and Andreas, Voula and the girls work really hard to make you feel welcome. The rooms are always clean and the pool area is spotless. Snacks are available all day and are cheap and plentiful. The barbecue night is always good if you are a meat eater and a midnight dip is recommended if you have not drunk too much (although you will need a good drink once Andreas starts to sing) The walk to Skala is about 10 minutes but the walk back is difficult if you have a buggy. Taxis are cheap for the return journey. Restaurants are all good with Aquarius one of the best. The Italian is also very good but a bit pricey. I would recommend hiring a car off the internet before you go as you will find it much cheaper than hiring once you are there. Excursions are a lot of money and you will save money by hiring a car and doing the tours yourself.
First holiday abroad on our own in twenty years.Andreas his family and staff managed to make our stay truly memorable. The hotel and accomodation far beyond expectations.Would willingly rcomend this hotel to anybody, knowing fullwell that they too would be enchanted by this wonderfull hotel.
Thanks to Andreas and the family for making my stay superb.
The best holiday i have had in years , local Doctor Dora ,well what can i say apart from i lost my heart to her , a friend for life
Fabulous holiday, Magic location.
Just come back from a week in Skala and stayed at the Zephyros. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, laid back atmosphere and a quiet holiday. Perfectly placed for a 10-15 min walk into town. If the hill leading up to it becomes too much there is another way in and out of town going out the top way or a taxi will cost 5 euros.
My fiance and i stayed at the zephyros last year, and its the best hotel to stay. Andreas and his family are great, they make you feel so welcome and part of their family its lovely. My fiance and i have booked to get married in skala july 2007 and us and our wedding party are staying at the zephyros,we know staying with Andreas will be the icing on the cake.
Great Hotel, with great pool and bar area. small hotel with big facilities. Family are eager to please. Very quiet location, food good. A bit of a trek up the hill , last 100m the worst. If you intend to see the island hire a car. we will be going back as soon as we can. Andreas's mum is an angel, and works 25 hours a day to ensure you get what you want. we stayed in room 202, which gets the morning sun with mountain views. Breakfasts are good and are typically continental, but you do get toast, and you can pay extra for a fry up!!. The Zephyros gets Top Marks from us.
We stayed at the hotel the first year it opened, we were so impressed we are returning early June 2005 for two fabulous weeks !
Before i went to kefalonia i was competely against going abroad but i have to say it was the best holiday i have ever been on andreas and his family were brilliant and really made you feel like one of the family they were very kind and helpful and the homemade food was better than most you would find in most of the tavernas in skala a great place for anyone to visit i can definately say i will be returning to the zephyros as soon as i can
i have booked to stay at the Zephyros hotel next july, anyone got any info on the place?all the reports ive read are good ones, any more?
I am interested in staying at the Zephyros Hotel during August / September 2005. Can anyone tell me which Tour Operator I can find out more details / book through? I have been to Kefalonia before about 6 years ago, it is a lovely island alhough I stayed in Lassi last time, I am looking forward to trying Scala!
Came back from Scala on Sunday night. Stayed at the Zephyros.
The place is just wonderful. Slightly away from town so no good for families with kids but great for people wanting a chill out. The road runs up between the Muses and the Paspalis, it is steep but it's ten mins max.
It's run by Andreas, who worked at the Paspalis for a long time before opening this last year, he runs it with his missus and his mum. The accommodation is very well appointed, roomy and clean. Nice furnishings, hairdryer fridge etc. and there are only 16 rooms so it's very relaxed. The pool is terrific and looks down over the town.
There is not a restaurant as such but with town a stroll away that’s no prob. The bar is well stocked and does good, freshly cooked snacks all day. Breakfast is buffet style, cereal, ham, cheese, toast, fruit etc and changed regularly. They will also do a really good ‘Full English’ I think it was about EUR 4.
Andreas is a complete loon but in the nicest way and the whole family will do whatever they can for you. I can’t recommend the place enough and I’ll probably be using it again next year for my ‘chill’ week.
Ate at a different place every night and enjoyed all of them. Including Andreas’ BBQ evening.
we visited the hotel last year and were so impressed are going again this June. the hotel is so friendly.
We stayed at the Zephyros Hotel last September and had a wonderful relaxing holiday. The hotel is situated up on a hillside with stunning views overlooking the village and sea. We have very hectic jobs and so the quiet location was just perfect. Our room was spacious, modern, very clean and had airconditioning! We spent most of our time lazing around the massive pool only bothering to move to get a delicious homemade snack from the poolbar. The owner Andreas made us feel like part of the family..We really enjoyed his special BBQ nights and he makes some really crazy cocktails!! We did occasionally leave the comfort of the Zephyros to have a night out in Skala village-It's a pretty little place with a few shops and plenty of restaurants- most of them are of a good standard but our favourite has to be 'Aquarius'- really first class- delicious food in a lovely and relaxed surrounding.
We've alrady booked to go back to Zephyros this year maybe we'll see you there!
